~April 18th~

Today, EXO members are holding a surprise party for Luhans 23rd birthday along with fans. The members that attended are Yixing, Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Xiumin, while the rest of the EXO members couldn't attend for reasons unknown. The party was going great with the lively atmosphere. Having Baekhyun and Chanyeol take over the roles of MC's while Suho was not around proved to be a little bit more difficult than they thought without Suho's lame and incomprehensible jokes. Throughout the party, Yixing would hit Luhan a lot with the stuffed toy he was holding blankly and cutely.

Yixings' outfit was cut low to the point where you were able to see more of his exposed skin. You would think that it was no problem, but unknown to Yixing, there was someone that couldn't help but stare at his milky skin and smooth complexion. The low cut outfit showed off his delicious collarbones, his smooth neck and a small part of his well toned out chest. It proved to be even more difficult when he was asked to do a y body wave along with Yixing and Chanyeol. Why you might ask? Well, you could thank the very person who decided that it was a great idea to take off Yixings jacket to expose his body even more to the screaming audience of fangirls. Before his jacket was removed, he glanced to the direction of where Luhan was and had a pleading face on. But, before any of them could act, Yixing's jacket was already taken off in one swift motion by Baekhyun.

Luhan's breath hitched unnoticeable by the other members when Yixings jacket came off. Not wanting to let anyone notice his sudden change of attitude, he let's his gaze wander anywhere but his best friend. He silently cursed himself for not being able to look away again when his eyes fall back onto the youngers body. But, a second later, Yixing comes up to Luhan as well and removes his outerwear saying that "it's not fair that I'm the only one who has to remove my jacket, so you should do it too." The elder had to keep himself from blushing, not by the fact that his jacket was being stripped off his shoulder but by the way Yixing seemed to do it for him with his hand lightly brushing his shoulder in the process of getting the jacket off the older. When they were finally done with the 'y waves', he turns back to the direction of the younger while grabbing onto his discarded jacket. He would look away when the younger would eventually look in his direction with a smile on his face, showing that he was having a great time.

Being the kids that they were, the members were playing with a can of spray and accidentally went into Luhans eyes making his eyes watery. He would blink his eyes repeatedly for the effects of the spray in his eyes to wear off. He blinked cutely while asking for tissue. While Luhan was busy trying to wipe his eyes, he failed to notice Yixing staring his way. Yixing couldn't help but to stare at how beautiful Luhan would look while doing the actions. Baekhyun who was beside Yixing had also been looking at Luhan and commented "ah, he's really perfect!" It had caught Yixing off guard but he had to agree with Baekhyun on that. When the younger deemed that he had stared enough, he went back to playing around with the other members.

There were also performances that were given by Chanyeol and Baekhyun in which they switched roles where Chanyeol would sing and Baekhyun would rap to the song called "She's there". After this mini performance by the two, next was for Luhan and Yixing to do their duet. Before they started their duet, Yixing told Luhan "let's sing one that we usually sing." Luhan felt his heart skip a beat because of the way the younger had said it, with his shy smile and cute dimples showing on his face. It's impossible for him to say no to anything the younger says when he looks so adorable like that. With the success of both performances, they moved onto another section and while Chanyeol and Baekhyun were talking, Luhan was hitting both Yixing's and Xiumin's head with a small poop hammer.

Now, it was finally nearing the end of the party so to wrap it up, Baekhyun was complimenting each of the members but when it got to Chanyeol's turn, the younger had covered his ears and stated firmly, "it's ok, you don't have to say it." So they moved forward towards the end and while they were all interacting with the fans, Yixing and Luhan were on the side whispering to each other. It was not that people did not notice them talking secretly but they did not want to interrupt Baekhyun while he was still MCing the party. A few moments later what could be seen was Luhan wanting to attack Yixings neck, most likely from what the younger could have possibly said. But what happens next was something they didn't think would happen. Instead of attacking Yixings neck, he simply started to the younger neck while smiling.

All the lights started to dim and the birthday cake was brought out. Everyone sang the birthday song and clapping along ending with loud cheers before signaling Luhan to make his wish. While he was thinking of what to wish for, he saw Yixing in his peripheral vision and bit down on his lip before fully closing his eyes. As you might already know, his wish is that all of the EXO members would continue to be a family for many years to come along with being healthy. But, that wasn't the only thing he had wished for, but that wish was.. will remain a secret.

After blowing the candles out, there was another loud cheer and Luhan have his thanks to all the fans and staffs for being there for attending and organizing ther party for him. The room start to span out as all the fans were going home and the staffs needing to clean up. The remaining members each took their belongings and got ready to leave as well. The van was already outside waiting for the members to come out before going back to the dorms.

Once the members got back to their respective dorms, they all hugged Luhan a last time before turning in for bed because it was already a little past midnight. When Luhan got into his shared room with Yixing, he saw the younger getting ready to change and get ready for bed. When Yixing caught sight of Luhan closing the door, he called out to the older and wished him a happy birthday once again and gave him a bone crushing hug before turning back and getting into his bed.

~April 19th~

It is now a day before Luhans birthday, and Yixing has gathered up all the courage he could muster up within these years together and to ask Luhan to meet him tomorrow afternoon for lunch. It would seem like a simple lunch to anyone, but the truth is, Yixing has decided that he would finally convey his feelings towards the elder and give him his present. He knows that whatever happens will happen, whether it be for the better.. or for the worse. With everything that happened last night from the party, Yixing couldn't hold it in anymore. The way Luhan and Xiumin were so playful with each other and how they got really close, it honestly hurt the younger because Luhan was really happy when he interacted with Xiumin.

-Flashback-
During a part of the party, the banner fell and Xiumin was trying to put the banner back up. But because he was too short to reach, he ended up being stuck in a stretching position. He looked like a small child at the time, it was a really cute and enjoyable sight to see that the eldest in their group was struggling to put the banner back up. So while he was still trying to put it up, Chanyeol and Luhan had walked up to the elder. Chanyeol reached over Xiumin to help put the banner back up, while Luhan had petted the olders head while the elder gave him a pout and Luhan grabbed onto Xiumin to pull him into an embrace.

The sight of the two hugging was one thing, but seeing how they seemed to fit perfectly together was another. The way that the two of them hugged so affectionately made it hard for Yixing to look on so he payed no mind to them. So, me focused back on the items on the table and started paying with the stuffed toys once again. When he thought that they were done hugging, he turned his attention back towards their direction. Turning back was not the greatest choice when he saw them playing and goofing off happily.
-Flashback end-

From the beginning, Yixing had already been fond of the older, although there were times they would argue and bicker, it was all for fun and never serious. Luhan is a really good brother and friend, and although he's a little stubborn and brings him pain at times, he's still a good friend. Especially at this point in time where they spend most of their time's together and the bond that keeps growing between the two, they aren't simply just 'good friends' but are 'best friends'. With that fact being stated, it's even harder for him to continue on like nothing goes on whenever Luhan leans too close, whispers in his ear, teases him, takes special care of him, etc. It might be selfish to dump his feelings on Luhan, but in the end, he just doesn't want to hold on to something that might never be his.

He has thought about the years they been together. The closeness and the comfort they established with each other along with all the trust. There is a possibility that the older would just ignore him for a while if he doesn't return the feelings, although a part of him wishes that the older would think more seriously on the possibility of not just loving him as a brother, family or as a best friend but as a lover.

Luhan spots Yixing staring off into space in the living room and decides to accompany him while turning on the TV. When Yixing feels a dip in the couch, he looks and turns his attention towards the direction of where the person is right next to him. Yixing bites on his bottom lip and scratches the back of his neck trying to figure out how he would speak to the older first. He clears his throat to gain the attention of the older. Once he got his attention, he asked the older to meet him at their usual cafe at noon. After talking about all the details, Yixing went back into their shared room and took out his iPod and headphones. Saying he was nervous was an understatement. Yixing was in no way prepared for what would happen tomorrow after confessing.

~April 20th~

It is finally the day that Yixing had been looking forward to. It's Luhan's birthday and it is also the day when he will finally be able to tell the older just how he feels towards him. It is currently 11:30am, just half an hour before they agreed to meet up. Yixing figured that he still had some time so he walked around the neighborhood and stumbled upon a jewelry store. He enters the store and looks around, he finds a necklace that would look really well on Luhan and decides to buy that and give it to the older as a birthday gift.

When he was finished looking around and had the gift wrapped in his hand, it was already 11:58am. Afraid that he would be late, he rushed out the door after saying his thank you and bowed his head towards the lady that helped him. It is now exactly 12:10pm when he finally reaches the cafe and takes a step inside. He orders a large Caramel Macchiato for himself and wonders if he should order a drink for Luhan as well, so he ends ordering two Caramel Macchiato, one with extra whipped cream and caramel for himself. After paying, he looks around inside and spots a table that is conveniently next to the window and sits there. He checks everything before relaxing into the seat and sips on his drink.

It's already been 20 minutes since the time they were going to meet, but he figured that the older has been caught up in something else since.. well, today technically is his birthday so he probably got stopped by everyone on the way there. He takes out his iPod and a notebook from his bag and starts doodling around and once in a while think of lyrics to new composed songs. It's hard to get his mind off of what he's doing so he had not noticed when someone walked pass him and bumping into his seat. He looks up just in time when the person turns around to apologize.

What he didn't expect was that when he looked around, the sun had already begun to set and looks at his watch that read a little pass 6:30pm. How long has it been since the moment he stepped foot into the cafe? How long was he going to wait now that it has been more than 6 hours pass their meeting time? Yixing sighed and collected all of his items before heading out the cafe. He still had Luhan's drink with him and figured he'd keep it since it would be a waste to throw it away.

By the time he is back at the dorm, he was surprised to see Luhan on the couch. There were many thoughts that went through his mind, "did he forget that we were supposed to meet?" or "did he have something else to do in the first place but couldn't find it in him to reject the invitation of meeting at the cafe?" The more the thoughts went through his mind, the more and more negative the thoughts became. And when the thoughts became more unbearable, he felt himself wanting to break down and cry.

He's been standing near the doorway the whole time and had been so absorbed into his thoughts that he failed to notice Luhan looking at him with wide eyes and walking fast towards him. When he felt a hand on his shoulder, he snapped out of his thoughts and gave Luhan a slight smile. The smile he gave did not reach his eyes, and Luhan was able to know that something was wrong. When Luhan was about to open his mouth, Yixing cut him off by saying a quick 'Happy birthday, Lulu' and shoved the drink he had in his hand to Luhan before walking off into their shared room and closing the door.

Luhan didn't go after the younger and just stood there with his doe-like eyes blinking confusedly but also felt guilty when he finally remembered that he was supposed to meet up with the younger in the afternoon. Biting his bottom lip and closing the door, he went back to sitting on the couch. He didn't dare face the younger.. not yet at least. He knew that when the younger wasn't in the mood, it would take him a while before he would eventually calm down. So Luhan decided that he will let the younger have some time to relax before talking to him.

While Yixing was in the room, he had grabbed his notebook and ripped out the song that he was composing while waiting for the older at the cafe. This song, he wanted to dedicate this song to the older once it was finished along with the necklace. He sighed and ripped out an empty sheet and started to scribble something onto the paper. At this moment, instead of telling the older how he felt face-to-face, he would just write a short letter. After he was finished with the letter, he placed the letter together with the song lyrics and the box with the necklace on top of the olders laptop before changing and going to sleep on his own bed.

Once Luhan deemed it safe for him to enter the room, he noticed that the younger was already fast asleep and did not want to wake him, so he went towards his end of the room but stopped. He stopped in his tracks once he saw that there was a box and scattered pieces of paper on top of his laptop. He picked up the paper and slowly began reading the contents that were inside.

today is your 23rd birthday, happy birthday. You are getting older again!
Well, yesterday I asked if you would meet up with me today.
This wasn't how I had planned on telling you this, but you never showed up to our meeting place.
There was something I've been meaning to say to you,
it's been on my mind for quite some time already and I had finally gather the courage to tell you.
Though I'm not sure if it's a great idea anymore, but here goes.

I love you, I really, really love you. More than friends and more than brothers.
This song that I wrote is for you, and it expresses my feelings for you through these years together.
There is a necklace in the box that goes along with this letter and the song.
I don't want to force you, but I really want to know what I stand in your heart at this point.
If you are willing to accept my feelings, I just ask of one thing, please wear this necklace.
And if a miracle occurs and you return my feelings, I would be the happiest person in the world.

After reading the letter, Luhan did not know how to react to this. He did not know whether to laugh or cry after reading the contents of the letter. He wants to laugh because this was the greatest thing he has heard.. well, read ever since they started becoming closer to one another. He also wants to laugh because he is relieved, more than anything, is relieved that Yixing also feels the same way and returns his feelings. But, he also very much wants to cry because he felt very guilty for not being able to meet the younger at the cafe and letting the younger wait for so many hours without a single call or message. He also regrets having the younger believe that he only thought of him as best friends. The closeness they have been experiencing was way past the level of what he would deem as a normal 'best friend' relationship. It would be an understatement to say that he was just fond of the younger. The way he felt was much, much stronger than anything he ever felt before.

He looks at the content that is in the box, and see's the necklace. The necklace in itself isn't anything too fancy and is simple, just the way he likes it. He removes the necklace out of the box and holds onto it tightly in his hand. With quick strides, he goes over to Yixings bed and shakes him awake violently. At this point, Luhan wasn't thinking rationally, all that was on his mind was to get the younger to understand just how he felt towards him and that he very much, if not more, loves him as well.

Once Yixing was finally awake and is looking straight at Luhan, his eyes are wide but he flinches as he see's Luhan's hand in a fist right in front of him. He then looks at the fist and back up at Luhan. When he was about to open his mouth, Luhan cuts in and grabs his hand open and palms facing up. Looking confused, he was about to open his mouth again when he felt Luhan shove something into his hand. Looking down on it, he realizes that it is the necklace that he had bought for Luhan and furrows his brows.

Luhan can see the confusion in Yixings face and he hesitantly tells the younger that if he were to buy a necklace, he should be awake to put it on him as well. Not understanding the situation, the younger nods and obliges and unhooks the necklace and places the necklace around the older's neck. What surprised him the most was after he was done placing the necklace around his neck, Luhan turned his whole body around and pushed Yixing back onto the bed and crashed their lips together.

Yixing's eyes were now currently the size of Kyungsoo's, but eventually he relaxed into the kiss and kissed back. The sensation they both felt was like a electric shock going through their bodies. How long have they both been craving each others soft lips? Luhan swiped his tongue along Yixings bottom lip and bit it to ask permission to enter. Yixing, who was still half asleep was very willing and opened his mouth for Luhan to push his tongue inside the youngers mouth. They broke the kiss when both of them were in desperate need of air. Disconnecting their lips, they were both in a panting mess, both trying to get the much needed oxygen into their burning lungs. 

When both of them have calmed down, it was Luhan's turn to have wide eyes and gets off from on top of Yixing and sits up. He scratches his head and looks down, he was very nervous now. But, first he needed to apologize to the younger for the sudden attack but reassures him that it was in no way, a mistake. He tells Yixing about the letter he read, the reason he hadn't gone to meet him in the afternoon and most importantly, his feelings as well as an answer to his feelings. He had also confessed to the younger that, "you were my wish," when he told the younger that he had made multiple wishes. This caused the younger to have a tint of pink on his cheeks and hoped the older would not notice it because of the room's only source of light was the street light and moon that seeped in through the curtains.

After finding out that both sides had feelings for one another, the next step was to figure out where this relationship was going. The room was silent after Luhan had told everything to the younger. Luhan is the first to break the silence, and turns to grab Yixings hand and caresses the back of his hand with his own thumb. They were both nervous but Luhan pops the question, "will you go out with me?"and all Yixing could do was nod violently and crash his lips with the elders once again. The kiss this time was much, much sweeter and gentler than the first because now, they were both in no rush to let go of each other. The feel of Yixings plump and juicy lips finally on Luhan's own was like heaven on earth.
