Meeting You

Rendez-vous

You walked into the stadium tentatively, feeling somewhat nervous after being away from such a familiar place for almost three years now. As you walked towards the spectators' stand, your eyes surveyed the seats, looking for a good empty spot. Though the match wasn't due to start till much later, a large part of the middle section was already packed with families and fans of all ages. It was, after all, almost like a revenge match that had been put on hold for three years for the two alumni teams playing that day. It also meant that you would have to get a good seat to watch your favourite man play your favourite game.

As you descended the steps, you spotted a couple of empty seats in the fourth row, somewhere towards the middle section and where he would often be at as he held the midfielder's position on the field.

"Alright Megs, here we are," you said as you put down your three year old daughter on a seat beside you.

Little Megan simply giggled as she clapped her hands happily while you massaged your shoulders and titled your neck from side to side to ease the muscle ache from carrying the little girl.

"Megs, d’you want some water?" You asked, pulling out a pink water bottle out from your bag. Nodding, Megan reached out for the bottle and took it from your hands. She sipped a bit of it before giving back to you.

"Mummy, where's Daddy??" Megan asked curiously.

For a girl who had just had her third birthday a while back, Megan sure was quick to remember things and grasp the situation; exactly like her father.

Looking at your daughter lovingly you replied, "You'll see Daddy soon Megs! He says you’ve got to call his name real loud so he'll know where you're seating at! You're gonna be a good girl and cheer for Daddy aren't you?" Megan simply nodded and resumed playing with her little siberian husky plushie in her seat.

You looked out to the empty field, feeling the memories rushing back to you. Simon had been against her coming for the match because it would mean bringing Megan along and she was simply too young to be out till late but you was adamant and insisted that three years was a long enough wait and that day's match was too significant to be missed. But now that you were actually here and seeing how the sky was starting to get overcast, you began to feel a little worried as it was Megan’s first time watching Simon play and you didn't want to disappoint her.

Or maybe you just didn't want a confrontation with him, after all these years.

"Mummy?" you heard Megan's voice and felt her tugging gently at her shirt.

"Yes, honey?"

"Mummy, could you tell Megs a story? Husky wants one too..." Megan asked as she lifted up her plushie to emphasize her point.

You chuckled.

"Oh of course, honey. The match looks like it isn’t gonna start anytime soon either so c'mere, I'll tell you a good, long one" You said as you opened her arms. Megan crawled onto her lap and snuggled into you as you began.

It was loud that day. Very. Even from a block away you could hear the crowd cheering and beating on their drums as a pre-celebration for the season's biggest match between the Huskies and the Bears. You and your best friend were making your way towards the big soccer stadium, weaving through the road which was jam packed with cars and students.

"This is crazy! You'd think this was a match for the FIFA World Cup, looking at the hordes of people trying to get into that stadium! Thank god we got VIP tickets!" Your friend exclaimed, oblivious to the stares you was getting. "Wait, you did bring the tickets didn't you? Cuz if you didnt...”

"Of course I did! I'd be the biggest joke if I forgot them! Now stop screaming your head off, I’m getting a headache!" you replied her as the two of you neared the stadium.

"I can't believe he gave you the tickets instead of me... I mean I'm his sister.." your friend muttered under her breath as the two of you swept past the general queue towards the VIP entrance of the stadium.

"Too bad~" you stuck out your tongue as you handed your tickets to the usher at the door before the two of you headed towards your seats which was located right at the front of the VIP area, where the glass panel was, overseeing the entire field.

As you looked out into the vast green pitch, you smiled, inwardly thankful for having been dating the captain of the school's soccer team for almost four years now. You were high school sweethearts and upon entering the same college, the two of you had been the subject of envy on campus, with your long, naturally wavy brown hair of half-French origin and his beyond average Asian boyish looks. He was the perfect boyfriend if you were to be perfectly honest. Never too showy and yet showering you with gifts and his love from the simplest of a rose with sweet notes of encouragement on your locker every Monday to your annual anniversary surprise dinners. It felt like you have enough happiness to last an entire lifetime and that made you subconsciously giggle.

"And now you're giggling to yourself... Are you feeling alright Jina?" A voice broke through your thoughts as a warm hand covered your forehead.

"Huh? Oh haha yeaa i am," you replied, still in a daze.

"Is it starting yet?" you asked.

"Almost! I was just checking out the teams on the monitor! Have a look!" Your friend replied as you began fiddling with the monitor located between your seats. "I think they had a change of line-up! They've got a new captain I think. Seems like he's a transfer student... from Japan according to the rumours," she continued as you took a seat beside her.

"Here, have a look.."

You peered at the screen from beside your friend, looking at the display of the line-up of the Huskies, the opposing team. As you scanned through the profiles, you couldn't help but stray your eyes back to the profile photo of the new team captain. He had the most piercing brown eyes which were made more prominent by his dirty blonde dyed hair. His features, from his nose to his jaw line were impeccably sharp it had you wondering if he got them sculptured by an artist.

"He's kinda hot isn't he?"

Once again your friend's voice broke you out of your stupor and you shook your head to clear it of your thoughts.

"If only he wasn't from our school's rival team... Oppa would probably slaughter me alive if I even got within a meter's diameter or this dude hahaaa," your friend continued as your unconsciously nodded in agreement, still eyeing his profile photo.

You had to admit that he was pleasing to the eyes too but honestly, how many good-looking guys had the personality to boot anyway? Jinwoo was the only exception of course. And even he had his flaws sometimes. You were about to express this when the commentator's voice boomed from the speakers in the room, indicating the start of the game.

You quickly shifted your attention to the field as the commentator began to introduce the players, beginning with the Huskies and then on to the Bears, earning an eruption of cheers from the crowd. The two teams then walked out in two rows towards the centre of the field and from where you were seating you could clearly spot Jinwoo and see the expressions on each player's face as they walked out to the pitch. Seeing as how it was the Huskies' home ground that day, their players were lined up in a row and the Bears were, in a single file, shaking their hands. Though your eyes followed Jinwoo, who led the team in the procession, your eyes couldn't help but wander frantically, searching for a particular person.

It was only after the players took their standing positions beside each other as the commentator finished off his introduction of the players and the game that you spotted him; in the white Huskies jersey with brown hair, spiked up to give his face an even more sculptured look. You continued staring at him, taking his determined and focused expression evident on his face, when he suddenly jerked his head up and looked directly in your direction.

Your eyes met in an instant as his brown eyes pierced yours, making you unconsciously gasp in shock.

"Simon..." you breathed.

As if hearing you gasp, he gave you the briefest smirk before returning his gaze back to the crowd, leaving your stunned, and wondering if what had happened actually happened. Your hand automatically went up to your chest and as you realised the suddenly fast thumping of your heart, you stole a sideward glance at your best friend, wondering if she saw your little intimate exchange from before. However seeing as how she was busy updating her SNS channels with today's big match, it was safe to say that she didn't see anything and you inwardly sighed in relief. Though you found yourself frowning the very next minute, trying to fanthom the sudden unexplainable feeling you got, you quickly shook your head to forget that exchange when you heard the whistle go off, signalling the start of the game.

"Mummy?" Megan's voice penetrated through the memory and you looked down at her.

"Yes honey?"

"Megs is hungry..." Megan pouted as you chuckled, tickling her tummy.

You reached for your bag, fishing out a Ziplock bag with her favourite sugar button biscuits and opened it for her.

Megan reached into the bag, grabbed a couple and snuggled further into you before saying "Okay, now you can go on~"

It was mostly an uneventful match with both sides scoring a goal each, just minutes after another. Currently the 2nd half was almost about halfway through and your eyes were glued onto the monitor in front of you. Jinwoo had successfully stolen the ball from the Huskies and was dribbling it towards the goal when Simon suddenly ran in from the right, fast, aiming directly for the ball. He kicked it away in the other direction but this also meant Jinwoo tripping over Simon's outstretched foot, effectively causing him to fall and tumble over, missing the edge of the goalpost by just inches.

You gasped and stood up, moving quickly towards the glass panel, trying to gauge his condition. Jinwoo remained in a crouched position for a couple of seconds or so before rolling over and holding his right knee close to his chest, his face contorted in pain. Paramedics were rushing to his side, spraying painkillers onto his knee and ankle but when it seemed like he wasn't getting up anytime soon, a stretcher was soon sent out to the pitch.

You bit your lip as he was lifted onto the stretcher and carried to the periphery of the field. You were dying to run out to see to him but you knew he would be mad at you for interfering in such an important match and you respected that decision so you continued biting your lip to stop yourself, hoping it doesn’t bleed. After several minutes or so, Jinwoo finally stood up, though shakily, and you breathed a sigh of relief. He was in no condition to continue playing, you knew, seeing as how he was being supported by the paramedics and limping quite badly as he made his way towards the benches. Just as another ball went flying out of the field, the whistle was blown to indicate a player substitution; the replacement for Jinwoo.

Meanwhile, the match continued on the other side of the field despite the little accident and you returned to my seat, praying hard that Jinwoo was going to be alright. As you focused your attention back to the game, your eyes strayed towards the brown haired captain who was now dribbling the ball towards the Huskies’ goal. He brought it forward effortlessly, penetrating the strong defence of the Bears' defenders and with a powerful kick in the direction of the goalpost; he successfully scored another goal for the Huskies. With only about 10 minutes of the game left, he had effectively secured the Huskies with the win of the season. It was at that very moment that you were suddenly filled with two strong conflicting feelings; the feeling of being amazed at his mind-blowing soccer skills in contrast to the extreme anger at having him put Jinwoo out of the pitch, and therefore possibly causing him an injury for the rest of his life.

That thought caused you to stand up almost immediately and you walked out of the VIP area towards the changing rooms, despite the calls of your best friend. You easily found your way to the first floor changing rooms, having been there several times before when the Bears had their training session at the stadium. You walked past a couple of ushers and pulled opened the door of the boys changing room, ignoring the roars of a couple of players who had just come out from the showers.

"Where's Jinwoo?" you questioned one of his teammates whom you recognized from previous practices.

He hesitated and gave a sideway glance to the other man on his left before answering.

"Um... he's at the back. But he's alright! You..."

You didn't let him finish and walked away from them towards the back of the room. The room wasn’t particularly big but because almost everyone was outside, the place seemed awfully quiet. You padded lightly, past the rows of lockers and benches, wondering where Jinwoo could possibly be when the sound of a moan stopped you in your tracks. Senses heightened, you carefully walked towards where the sound seemed to be coming from. You knew you were walking in the right directions because the moans were getting louder, coupled with short and heavy breathing. Despite the foreboding feeling closing in on you, you couldn't stop your feet walking and it was only until you reached the furthest corner of the room, near the back exit, that you jerked to a stop. And you stared. You stared as if your eyes were playing tricks on you.

Jinwoo had a girl pinned to a corner of the room; her legs wrapped around his waist as he kissed her fiercely, his hands trailing all over her body. Her straight black hair was messy, blocking her face from view she ran her fingers repetitively through his hair, messing his spiked up black hair further. He pushed her further into the wall and aimed his mouth for her neck, causing her to arch her back and throw her head up, releasing a guttural moan and revealing heavy lidded eyes. As if suddenly realising someone watching, the black haired beauty snapped her eyes open and stared straight at you. A fleeting look of surprise crossed her eyes but not before she immediately narrowed them and smirked triumphantly at having realised who you were. And to further emphasizing her victory, she pressed herself further into your boyfriend and pulled his face up for another deep kiss before forcefully turning the two of them around so that now you were directly looking at Jinwoo who was currently deeply lost in passion.

You knew you should have run off before he saw you but your feet simply refused to move. You stood rooted to the ground, your shocked expression slowly being replaced by a blank lifeless stare, just as Jinwoo opened his eyes upon realising the switch in position. He gazed drunkenly at the beauty hanging onto him for several seconds before squinting to focus on you. When he realised who you were, his eyes widened in complete shock and he quickly threw the girl off him. She gave a small yelp but managed to balance herself without falling and started to fix her clothes as she eyed the two of you nonchalantly.

It seemed like the two of you were having a silent conversation with your eyes as you stood rooted in your place; his were guilty and yet desperately pleading for innocence and yours were looking but not seeing. It was only when he mouthed your name that you realised tears were welling up in your eyes and you began to back away.

One step by one step, you backed away, shaking your head in disbelief as he moved forward, one step by one step, trying to reach for you. Seven steps and just as he almost had you in his grasp, you turned and ran, fleeing from the person you loved and trusted. You wanted to be anywhere but near him. It felt like someone had just poured icy water down your back and at the same time shatter your heart with a hammer. Eyes glazed with tears, you ran haphazardly toward the door and just as you were about to push it, the door swung wide open and you crashed into a hard body, knocking you down to the floor. Although you knew that he was still chasing after you, you didn't get up; you couldn't for it seemed like all the strength had left you and all you could do was sob helplessly, tears flowing down your pale cheeks.

"Jina! I..." you heard him but his voice trailed off as the person before you cast his shadow on you, blocking you from Jinwoo’s view.

You didn’t even resist when that person slowly crouched down and held your shoulders to gently pull you up to stand. You didn’t push him away even when he encircled his arms around you to pull you into a comforting hug and then slipping his arms under your knees to lift you up and walk away from your boyfriend.

You didn’t know what he was thinking, carrying you away like that nor did you know where he was bringing you to but you knew exactly who he was. You could feel his piercing brown eyes, now blazing with fury, glancing down at you every few steps but you kept you face hidden behind your long brown hair, sniffing periodically into his chest.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally set you down on a bench before plopping himself beside you. Several minutes of silence passed as the both of you stared mindlessly at the empty playground in front before he finally spoke.

"Are you alright?"

Trying hard to ignore the involuntary shudder you got from finally hearing his gruff, husky voice, you nodded hesitantly as you pulled your knees up to your chest and rested your chin on it.

"How?" you asked, barely audible.

"Hmm?"

"I mean, how did you know..?" you asked again, your voice trailing off into a whisper.

"Cuz Haeri's my girlfriend," he replied simply.

You couldn't help but gasp and snapped your head round to stare at him. He was gazing out at the clearing between the playground and the stadium in the distance. You could see him clenching his jaw, almost inwardly grimacing at the thought.

"She was really good at hiding it though. If I hadn't seen her in the act, I probably wouldn't have suspected a thing. She's definitely a fox, that one," he continued.

"How long has it been? Do you... Do you know?"

This time it was his turn to turn his head round to face you, his brown eyes locking onto your black ones as he asked, in barely a whisper, "Do you really have to know?"

You stared into his brown orbs and nodded slowly.

"I need to know. Not knowing would eat me up inside slowly. It'll make me look pathetic and I hate that," you replied firmly.

He returned his gaze back to the clearing just as you did too. He was quiet for several seconds before he chuckled in a low voice.

"2 years"

There were several minutes of silence as you began piecing what you knew together in your head. 2 years ago, you were still a junior and you had attended his soccer match for the first time on college grounds and it was...

"The first ever friendly match the Bears had with the Huskies" he finished, as if hearing my thoughts.

"I wasn't playing of course. Not yet. I wasn't even enrolled in college yet. I was on holiday from Japan. I was just one of the spectators because Haeri wanted me to teach her soccer and she dragged me along. Seems like she learnt much more than I was supposed to teach though for she didn’t come back till late that day. She's a senior, you do know right?" he added.

I shook my head, finding it hard to belief what he just said.

"Wow.. and I was actually there that day. And he even told me he had a team dinner to celebrate their win that day. How could I have been so damn naïve? High school sweethearts... what a bunch of bull..."

"You guys were lovers from high school?!! , I am so sorry... I should have said something..."

"Hahaha," you laughed sarcastically as you rubbed at the tears threatening to fall from your eyes.

"How could you? You didn't even know me ba.."

"But i did. I knew exactly who you were. Even back then," he replied making my stomach lurch in anticipation of what he had to say next.

"I saw you for the first time that very same day. You were seating in the home stands, directly across from where I was. I remember it was a freezing cold spring day that day so you were all bundled up in your thick white fleece, complete with gloves, a beanie and a sky blue scarf that covered half your face. I could only see your eyes and the bridge of your nose to be honest. You were very obviously a junior and with that sort of dressing, I really couldn’t care less. But just as the first goal was scored, a strong wind suddenly blew through the pitch, and as you jumped up from your seat to cheer, your scarf unravelled.”

He paused for a moment and then ran his hands through his brown hair before continuing.

“ It unravelled ever so slightly to just barely reveal your mouth and your smile. And at that very moment, it felt like the whole world had stopped moving. The whole pitch was filled with cheering but I heard nothing of it, I could see nothing of it. I only saw you. It was just you and that smile lighting up your whole face. You were so beautiful that I couldn't help but stare. I probably looked very much like an idiot but I didn't care. And I think, no, I knew at that very second that I had fallen madly and helplessly in love..." he turned his head towards you just as you did.

"…with you" he breathed out just as you let out the breath that you had been holding.

You were enveloped with utter shock for the second time that day.

You stared into his warm brown eyes just as he did into yours, unblinkingly. And then he closed in, an inch by an inch and you continued to stare into his eyes, as if hypnotised by them. He never broke his eye contact even as he ever so gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear before trailing his finger lightly to trace your jaw line and then lifting your chin just slightly with the back of his forefinger. With a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, he settled his lips gently onto yours causing your eyes to widen further. Like rose petals, his lips were soft and velvet on yours and as he pressed them deeper, you unconsciously closed your eyes. You could hear nothing else but the wild beating of your heart ringing in your ears.

It seemed like an eternity before he broke the contact and you opened your eyes slowly to see him gazing at you. As you gazed into his, you saw warmth and tenderness, anticipation and nervousness and your reflection in those brown orbs. He was seeing just you and no one else and this made your heart start thumping wildly once again.

"I love you. Be my girlfriend, will you?" he uttered, still gazing at you. His eyes now held utmost conviction and determination that you could feel your heart skipping a beat or two, causing you to slightly shudder involuntarily again.

You were supposed to be in love with someone else. You knew the two of you were meant to be. Your future together was as clear as crystal and everyone knew that. But after today you weren't sure anymore. You weren’t sure if you should take the next step. And just as suddenly as that thought crossed your mind, you suddenly realised the reality of his words.

2 years.

He had been waiting for 2 years.

Only looking at you.

Only for you.

And then as if the spring wind from back then blew once again, you looked directly into his eyes and with a small smile, you nodded.

Once.

Twice.

And then again and again, you nodded as you broke into a grin, your eyes shimmering with tears of joy that even he couldn’t stop himself smiling either.

"Yes," you whispered and you circled your arms around his neck, leaning in for a kiss. Warm and fuzzy.

And for the third time today, you were enveloped by shock and yet you felt like you were the happiest girl in the world.

"And they fell in love and lived happily ever after~”

“Oh and they had the cutest little baby girl ever too," you finished off your story, looking down at Megan who was still munching on her biscuits.

She looked up at you with familiar brown eyes, as if questioning and said "That's Megs right?"

"Well well, someone's a clever little girl!" you chuckled and lightly pinched her nose.

Megan giggled and stood up on your lap to circle her arms around your neck and at the same time patted your back, comforting you. You were about to hug her when she squealed, "DADDY!!" and began jumping up and down on your lap.

"DADDY!!"

You twisted around in your seat to see your handsome husband in his white Huskies soccer attire walking down the steps with a huge smile on his face. The whispers of the crowd around you were getting louder as he descended, coming nearer towards you, but you could hardly hear them.

All you saw was him and only him.

It was crazy how he still made your heart beat wildly even after four years. You blinked to clear your head as he stopped in front of you and took the seat beside you.

Megan literally jumped into Simon's arms immediately after he sat down and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He chuckled and ruffled her hair before kissing her on the lips which made her giggle happily.

"You gotta kiss mummy too! Mummy says you kiss nice!" Megan said with glee, grinning cheekily, something she was often found doing when she was with her dad.

"Oh really? Why was it nice?" Simon asked as he raised an eyebrow at you, a smile playing on his lips.

You widened your eyes at Megan, as if warning her to not say anything more but it seemed like she had acquired the innate ability to tease people, her mum in particular, from her dad.

Ignoring you, Megan replied, her brown eyes sparkling, "Mummy says you kiss nice because it makes her all warm and fuzzy~" and she gave a small giggled before burying her face into Simon's shoulder.

Simon chuckled again, this time a low rumble, and looked at you with the same questioning brown eyes which made you in your breath unconsciously.

"Hurhur I was just kidding. You know Megan. She just..." you trailed off as he leaned in towards you, oblivious to fact that the entire spectator population in the stands was watching you, their whispers getting louder by the second.

"She just.. what? Huh?" Simon teased, his low husky voice sending tingles down your spine.

"I meant she.. I... no Simon you can't... here.. people..." you stuttered, officially losing your ability to think straight which very much happens every time he stares intensely at you with those brown orbs. He blew warm air onto your lips which cause you to snap your eyes shut as you felt your cheeks flushing red in response.

You faintly heard him chuckle again before the slightest feather-like kiss brushed past the very tip of your nose.

You opened your eyes to see Simon playfully tickling Megan's tummy, his eyes shining with glee. Feeling a suddenly loss and the embarrassment setting in, you pouted in the direction of your husband. Seeing you do this, he winked at you just briefly, causing you to roll your eyes in defeat. It seemed like no one could beat your husband when it comes to teasing and that thought made you snort subtly in disbelief.

"Why are you here anyway? And isn't the game starting soon?" you asked him, finally composed enough to form a coherent sentence.

"Game's delayed cuz of the lightning warning. Probably for another 15 minutes or so? And I wanted to see Megs before the game started so here I am," he replied, nuzzling his nose into Megan's causing her to giggle and nuzzle hers against his in response.

"Anyway, he's here. You already know that don’t you?" he continued, looking at me seriously, all traces of goof gone from his face.

You looked at him, your expression slowly hardening as you nodded. Of course you knew he would be here. You just didn't want to be reminded of the fact that he was here. And well you didn't really want to see him either.

After what happened that day, you didn't return to the stadium but instead hung around the playground watching the hordes of spectators trailing out of the stadium as you waited for Simon to take you home. You couldn't even bear the thought of seeing Jinwoo again. It was just too difficult to un-see, to understand, to accept what had happened. You didn't think it was because you still wanted him back. It was more of you feeling disappointed in yourself for being so naive to have foolishly believed him. You didn’t want to have to go through the process of explaining and then breaking up and then parting. It was much easier to just run away. Cowardly, but at least it didn’t hurt as much.

You didn’t know why you trusted Simon's words either but he seemed sincere enough. He was almost like the band aid that had been tucked away in the depths of your purse, only surfacing after you've scrapped your knees and you decided to go with your gut feeling in believing him.

Completing college while Jinwoo was still there was a nightmare. Not knowing the complete story, the entire college population seemed to put the blame of the breakup on you rather than him. You knew he was angry with you for simply walking away from him without any explanation but you refused to break your silence and continued to avoid him on campus. His sister, your best friend, also seemed to be avoiding you although you had left numerous text messages telling her to meet you so that you could explain what exactly had happened.

That coupled with the fact that Simon purposely dropped by campus several times for lunch and picked you up after class everyday led to rumours of you ditching your long-time boyfriend for fame; after Simon scored the winning goal of that day's match, he instantly became a hot item, highly sought by both professional soccer leagues and of course, college girls.

Things got a little better after Jinwoo graduated and you went on to your final year. With the seniors gone and the college soccer team undergoing a revamp, the attention on you and the breakup gradually waned. The rumours died down and it seemed like everything was finally going to be alright for the rest of your college life.

Only that you found yourself pregnant with Megan three months before your finals and that fact spread like wildfire. You had no idea who had spread it or how it got so wildly spread such that you had girls from Simon’s college waiting for you after class in the hallway corridors on campus. For the semester leading up to your graduation, it seemed like the entire school population had their eyes on you, monitoring your every action, judging you for every move you made. It gave you so much extra stress; to the point where you almost wanted to give up graduating college and just hide in your room till the horrible nightmare passed.

But Simon refused to let you fall down like that. Being the optimist that he was, he decided to be your personal bodyguard. He spent those three months accompanying you around campus despite your protests and stared down anyone who looked judgingly at you, much to your amusement.

Of course that meant him having to stay an extra semester in college to catch up but all that didn't matter now because everything turned out fine and you couldn't be anymore happier. It really shouldn’t be affecting you already now.
You could deal with meeting Jinwoo in person.

"Jina, honey? Are you alright?"

You heard Simon's voice in the distant and you blinked to see two pairs of brown eyes peering at your worriedly.

"Huh? Oh yea. I am.." you replied, still a little dazed.

"You sure?"

"Yea I am. Don’t worry about me. I'll be fine. You should go.."

"If you say so..." Simon replied, still looking at you with a worried expression.

"You're staying for the whole game right?"

You nodded in reply.

"Meet me at the playground when it's over. I'll drive you home," he said.

"Mmmhh okay," you answered as you reached out for Megan who yawned widely.

"Alright Megs, Daddy has to go now. Cheer for me yea?" Simon said as he ruffled Megan's hair again to which she nodded sleepily.

"And look after Mummy alright? I'll see you later darling," he gave Megan a quick kiss on the cheek before handing her over to you.

He stared at you for a moment before swiftly pecking you on the lips. You blushed slightly and bit your lips.

"Always teasing me.." you sighed before breaking into a smile.

"Cuz you like it when I do," he replied playfully, ruffling your hair as well before standing up to leave.

"Daddy! Hwaiting!!" Megan cried out, waving her hands as Simon retreated out from the stands.

He turned to give her a wink and waved in reply before disappearing round the corner.

"Megs, how could you side with Daddy!? Those were just for your ears!" you playfully scolded Megan, tickling her.

She giggled and mumbled "I'm sorryyy~", giving you a hug.

You chuckled and settled her onto your lap just as the whistle signalling the start of the highly anticipated match began.
