It was a simple question. One that Himchan had asked often enough. It was work, it was always work. A difficult client, a overdue report. There was always an excuse. He anticipated it almost, what ruse Yongguk was going to come up with this time.

The almost unfamiliar man stood in the doorway with his suit jacket slung over his shoulder, tie hanging loose around his neck. Yongguk blinked a few times, his lips, standing silent.

Himchan sat there staring up at the only man he had ever loved, holding his breath. He needed the excuses, lived off of them. That excuse every night was what kept him together until the next. He knew they were all lies. He wasn’t oblivious. But he wished to god that he was.
