Jeongmin smile at his work, his writing. He makes sure he put in the letter in envelope nicely and sealed it neatly. He place the letter on his study table before washing himself to go to sleep.

 

Watching the snowflakes melt in the apartment’s playground. He was seated on one of the bench, suddenly he heard someone calling his name while tapping his shoulder.

 

“Jeongmin,” the soft voice, the voice that he wants to listen every morning and every night.

 

He turns around but nobody was there.

 

Jeongmin wait for the class to be empty before placing his letter into her bag, nicely. He then walks out and head towards the cafeteria. He seat with his friend at the corner of  the cafeteria with his eyes wander around searching for Naeun.

 

Kwangmin nudge his rib and whisper “You did it?”
Jeongmin nod and take the food that his friends bought for him.

He ignores her.

 

“Jeongmin-ah,” she voices again
“What?” He answer coldly but didn’t turn around to see her, even if he is dying to see her.
“What are you doing?”
“Watching the snow,”
“Why?”
“Because I’m bored,”
“Why are you bored?”
“I’m bored of waiting,”
“What are you waiting for?”
“For god sake I’m waiting for your re-,”
He turn around only to found himself talking to the air

Naeun re-read the letter again. She calls it greasy, because he’s using an old school way to confess. But she still loves every word written on the letter.

Dear Naeun,

I hope this letter reaches safely in your hands. It is me, your neighbor and classmate. I live 2 floors above yours and three rows in front of you.  I hope you recognize me. Yes, its me Lee Jeongmin. I’d been your admirer for a long time. Why? I do not know it either. Maybe it’s the way you tuck your hair behind your ear, or you soft voice that I would love to hear everyday. Could it be the smiles that you had always wears, or is it your dazzling eyes. It might be you beautiful appearance that you always show, or it might be your mysterious personality that attracts me in everyway. Everything about you is perfect, perfect to me. When you’re close to me, I could smell you hypnotizing scent. There is one time in summer where you enter the elevator that I was riding, you were on your way to the convenient store while I’m on my way to meet my friends, you had your hair tied into a love pony tail and that one thing had me head to toe for you. Do you remember last autumn, where your aunt came and you have to take care of her beloved son? You took him to the playground, and even play with him, even though there are people watching. I was watching every move. Yes I was there. And you were so beautiful. I don’t know what to say anymore, but I do want you to answer this question,

            Son Naeun, would you go out with me?

He thought he was dreaming, like he would almost ever night for the past 4 weeks. So he ignores it. He then feels a weight on the other side of the bench. A tap on the shoulder make him turn around. What he is in front of him is an angel, a beautiful angel without wings, a winter angel. So beautiful, so pretty.
The girl hand him a square envelope. Jeongmin takes it and open it before reading it.

 

            I’m sorry it takes so long to reply, but lets go now ツ

 

Jeongmin looks at Naeun with a smile. He offer his hand which she take it and interwine their fingers together.
