“I don’t think he and I can work.”
Heechul nearly spat the soda he was drinking, causing Jessica to grimace right across from him. “Oppa, what the hell? That’s so gross.”
He ignored his wife, sending the glum looking woman beside her a pointed look. “Where’s all this coming from? I thought you two are doing great.”
“We are.” Sooyoung said at first; a sigh soon escaping her lips. “I just think that… Well, I just think that he deserves better than me.”
“That’s crazy, Soo.” Jessica joined in. “You and Changmin oppa are perfect for each other.”
“Are we really?” She shook her head, pointedly focusing on table napkin that she was fiddling with her fingers. “I mean, look at me! I look like a walking toothpick. We’re just going to drive each other crazy because we both love food too much. I’m dark. I’m loud. I’m–”
“Spouting nonsense.” Heechul spoke frankly, cutting her off. “Are you even listening to yourself, Choi? Everything you said is pure nonsense, alright? I mean, who cares if you’re loud? So what if you’re thin? Who cares if you can eat like there’s no tomorrow?”
“Oppa’s right, Soo.” Jessica nodded her head in agreement. “None of them are going to matter if what you two have is real. Look at oppa and I. We have such a big . Sometimes, he’s more girly than I am… but we still work.”
“But still…” A genuinely dejected look crossed the younger woman’s face.
The couple exchanged a look, silently debating with pointed looks and subtle nudges of the head as to who was going to do the consoling. Heechul let out a breath, knowing that he wasn’t going to win the supposed ‘battle’ against his wife. Sure, he preferred to have this kind of conversation somewhere else more private instead of a restaurant, he knew as well as Jessica did that this issue had to be dealt with right now.
“Choi Sooyoung, do you see yourself with him?”
