"I promise, that I will love you and only you." A little boy said.

" And I in turn promise you that I will belong to no one but you." A little girl said.

 

The young couple looked at each other and grinned.

They both looked around to see if there was anyone and then, the little boy kissed the little girl.

They walked out to of the chapel, towards the clover field.

 

"Neh! JaeJoong! Promise me! Promise me what you will never look at anyone else but me!" 7-year-old SungMi said.

"Ok. But you have to promise me too! Promise me that you will never love anyone but me!" 12-year-old JaeJoong said.

They looked at each other and nodded.

"I promise." They said together and hooked their pinkie, finalizing their promise.

 

~10 years later~

JaeJoong is now a well-known celebrity. He have admirers all over the world, however, he still remembered that promise he made to SungMi. He only had eyes for her. No one, but her.

 

SungMi is a student, studying at Seoul high.She has many friends and many suitors, however, in her heart, all she cares about, all she thinks about is only JaeJoong. No one but him.

 

JaeJoong and SungMi still keep in touch, however they do not meet up at all.

One day, there was a rumour about JaeJoong and another female celebrity.

 

SungMi was crushed.

She went back to the clover field where they made the promise.

And she cried.

She cried so hard that her eyes could hardly open.

But she did not know, there was someone else...

Someone else watching her.

Someone else who's heart was broken,

because he saw her crying like that.

He wanted to go to her, but he cant.

He knows that no matter how much he wants to be with her,

he must never ever pull her back.

A tear fell from his eyes.

he turned and walked away.

 

"Goodbye, SungMi." JaeJoong whispered and left.

 

~2 months later~

"Honey~ Let's go home!" Key said to SungMi.

"Let's!!" SungMi laughed and nodded.

Key looked at his sweetheart and gave her a kiss on the lips.

SungMi was shocked by the kiss.

But she smiled.

It wasnt a genuine smile.

She still remember that kiss she shared with JaeJoong 10 years ago.

She missed him terribly but she shook her head.

'I must not think about him now. I have Key with me.' She thought.

 

JaeJoong just finished his performance onstage and went to the back.

Just then, he felt giddy and fainted.

The next thing he knew,

he woke up in the hospital.

"S..sung..mi..." JaeJoong whispered when he opened his eyes.

He had a dream about SungMi.

He dream that they were a family, SungMi was his wife and he fulfilled his promise to her.

But he knew,

in reality, he had broken that promise.

He turned to his side as tears formed in his eyes.

He did not want MIcky and Xiah to see him like this.

Just then, the doctor walked into the ward.

"Mr Kim. Your condition is deteriorating. You need to go for treatment! Although it would not change the fact that you'd die, but you still need to try!" The doctor said.

JaeJoong shook his head.

"No. I am not going. I will only look ugly and weak." JaeJoong said, trying to get up from the bed.

"Yah! Lie down. You need to rest!" Micky said, pushing JaeJoong back onto the bed.

"Yes. Yes." JaeJoong said, lying on the bed.

He closed his eyes and after a while, he drifted off to sleep.

He had another dream.

He dream of SungMi once again.

However, this time, he dream that he saw SungMi get married to someone, someone who was not him.

He woke up from his dream and ran to SungMi's house.

 

"SUNGMI!SUNGMI!" JaeJoong shouted, banging on the door.

SungMi's parents opened the door and was shocked to see JaeJoong at their doorstep.

"JaeJoong! Come in! What're you doing here at this time?" SungMi's father asked.

"Oh! JaeJoong!What happened to you? You were admitted in the hospital?" SungMi's mother asked, looking at his clothes.

Just then, SungMi came out of her room, in her PJs.

'SungMi! My only love, SungMi.How I miss you!' JaeJoong thought.

SungMi looked up and saw JaeJoong.

She was shocked.

'How long has it been. He became thinner. How I missed him. JaeJoong, the only one who mattered in my heart.' SungMi thought.

JaeJoong and SungMi couldnt stop staring at each other and finally, they broke their eye contact when someone cleared his throat.

"Uhem...JaeJoong. Mind telling us why you came here at such a time?" SungMi's father asked.

JaeJoong looked at the clock on the wall.

'1.45am' It read.

'Oh ! Why am I even here?' Jaejoong asked himself.

"I..I..passed by..so I wanted to see how you are." JaeJoong said.

"I'll be leaving now." Jaejoong continued.

"Now now..Honey, what would your mother say if I were to ask you to go at a time like this!You'll sleep here tonight!" SungMi's mother said.

"You'll share a room with SungMi! There's an extra bed there." she said and led him to SungMi's room.

SungMi was silent all this while.

Her eyes never left JaeJoong.

'Why is he back in my life now?He left. Why come back?' SungMi thought.

After they have settled down,

both SungMi and JaeJoong lay awake on their respective beds.

'I cant sleep.' They thought.

"You...How are you?" SungMi said out loud.

JaeJoong was shocked.

He did not expect SungMi to talk to him first.

"I'm fine. What about you? Any boyfriends?" JaeJoong asked.

"Yeah..His name is Key. What about you?" SungMi asked.

"Not now. Girlfriends would only make my fans fall." JaeJoong replied.

"Oh?What about that female celeb you were seeing?" SungMi asked.

"She...We broke up." JaeJoong said quietly.

"Oh.." SungMi whispered.

And the room was once again in silence.

 

The next morning, JaeJoong fetched SungMi to school.

'I have been wanting to do this.But, I guess, this is the last time..Last time that I would be able to do this..First and last time.' JaeJoong thought to himself.

JaeJoong stood at the gate and watched SungMi walked into school.

'Bye, my only love.'

 

After a few days,

Sungmi's mother asked her to go to JaeJoong house to pass him some stuff.

When she reached JaeJoong's house, she heard people shouting.

"Hyung! Why are you so stubborn? Why wont you go for treatment?" A voice shouted.

"None of your business! " JaeJoong shouted.

"Is this about that girl? Is it because of her you wont go treatment?" Another voice shouted.

Then the door swung open.

JaeJoong saw SungMi by the door and he asked," Did you hear what we said?"

SungMi nodded and asked," What treatment?Are you sick?"

Micky walked over and laughed,"Sick? He's beyond sick. He's going to die. And he refuse to go for treatment. Why? All because of you!"

SungMi was stunned.

"Because of me?" She questioned.

" Yes! You! He made a rumour about having a girlfriend so you could forget about him and carry on with life. And he thinks that without you in life, he would rather die. " Micky shouted.

"I...I'm sorry!I didnt know..." SungMi muttered and ran.

She ran out of the building.

Just as she was running across the road,

a truck came at her.

SungMi went into a coma.

 

~After 2 weeks~

SungMi is still sleeping.

JaeJoong goes to the hospital to visit her everyday.

"I love you. You're the only one for me. My only Love." JaeJoong  said.

"Please wake up! I just wanted you to be happy! And, I have..less than1 month left. Please, please wake up!" JaeJoong pleaded.

Just then, SungMi's eyes began to open.

"I..I love you too. I've loved you since forever. Dont leave me." SungMi whispered.

JaeJoong nodded and kissed SungMi.

"We'll be together forever." JaeJoong whispered to SungMi's ears.

SungMi smiled and went into a deep sleep, never to wake up again.

JaeJoong slept next to SungMi a month later.

They were next to each other, never to be seperated again.
