“Where are we going?” D.O asks once they got off the bus

“Come on!” she beckons and rushes up the hill
“Gale!” he calls out and force his legs to walk up the hill “Ga…”

“Here.” she said

She was standing in front of a small building; it’s a kindergarten but it was empty since it’s almost noon already. She climbs up the gate and D.O did the same; following her to the back of the building where there were a perfect view of the hills afar and the city below.

“Remember this?” she pulls his hand and made him sit down at the same spot he did back when he was 6 and she sat next to him

*Gale…* his heart softens

It was recess as usual and everyone were running around in the kindergarten and the shy Kyung Soo always sits alone behind the kindergarten which faces the hills far from reach and the city down below; the kindergarten is up on not-such-a-small hill.

“What are you doing here?” a little girl asks him; she’s just the same age as him and they were at the same height but she looks like someone foreign if she weren’t speaking in such fluent korean

“I-I-I love sitting alone.” he said; his face flushed pink

“It is a nice view.” she said while sitting down next to him “You don’t mind if I join you right?”

“Ehm…”

“It’s just that I always see you sitting alone, why? Don’t you like people?” she turns to him

“It’s just that I’m not good at making conversations.” he looks down to cover his red face

“You would always sit here everyday during recess and I came up to you asking why are you sitting alone when everyone else is running around playing tag or in the sandbox.” she chuckles “I missed all of these, 11 years ago was a long time ago.” she shuts her eyes and inhales the air “Here comes the sunset, make a wish.” she smiles

*I wish you would never leave Gale, ever.* he shuts his eyes but she didn’t.

She stares at his face; those eyes, those nose and those same lips she stares at when she was still a kid. He’s still the same person, only he opens up more, he talks more, smiles more and laughs more. She admires him, idolizes him, likes him, loves… him. She leans closer towards him and gently presses her lips against his cheek. He opens his eyes at the sudden contact but he didn’t move; his face was heating up and he can’t believe she’s kissing his cheek.

“I’m gonna miss you Kyung Soo.” she lies her head on his shoulder

“Me too, Gale…” he whispers

It was already 6:45 p.m. Saturday, everyone was already dressed up and happily on their way to the school for the prom but not D.O who’s heart just kept aching every second. He was already in his tuxedo and ready to go pick up Han Na who’s waiting for him. He stares at his reflection and grabs his watch; his gaze turns to a frame beside it; there he was with Gale, hand intertwined and smiling to the camera, he was blushing mad like he always does when he’s around her but she’s just smiling straight to the camera.

“I’ll get it!” D.O said because he doesn’t want to bother his parents who’s preparing for dinner. He jogs down the stairs and opens the door “Chan Yeol? What are you doing here?” his eyes widens

“Where are you going?” Chan Yeol looks at D.O; his brows creases

“To pick up Han Na for the prom, where else.” D.O shrugs

“Aren’t you gonna go and wave Gale goodbye or something?”

“She said I don’t have to, we already said goodbye yesterday.” he casually said

“Then go stop her.”
