It was their second anniversary, two years filled with pain, laughter and a lot of love. Sungjong was preparing the table for tonight’s dinner date. Apparently, he got too excited and was setting their dorm a bit earlier.

He wanted everything to be perfect.

“Ya! Lee Sungjong, I better not smell those annoying scented candles once we get home later, got it?” Sunggyu was against the idea of letting their maknae decorate the place for tonight’s celebration.

“Just give it a rest hyung, we’ll go clubbing anyway which means you’ll be fully intoxicated once we get back” Woohyun’s remark earned him a slap on the head, ”Ya! Don’t mess the hair”

“Be careful with the knives Jongie, try not to cut your fingers like last time” Hoya placed the plates on the table that was filled with rose petals and an elegant candle holder at the middle

“I promise” Sungjong let out a toothy grin,” Now get going!” he ushered the rest of Infinite through the door

“One more thing, make sure to keep the dorm clean, if you know what I mean?” Sunggyu let out a knowing look which made Dongwoo and Woohyun snort at their leader’s last piece of advice

“I-I will” Sungjong gave one last bow before closing the door

“Hyung! Don’t pollute our maknae’s mind” Sungjong could hear Hoya lecturing Sunggyu about ‘that’

“It’s not like he doesn’t know what  Gyu meant, I bet he got the shock of his life when he walked in on you and Dongwoo making  out at the sofa”, Sungjong could just imagine how Dongwoo’s face must have been, “Ouch, stop hitting your boyfriend!” “Then stop saying nonsensical things, let’s just go before I put a restraining order on you” Sungjong smiled at how annoyingly cute his hyungs can be when it comes to their love life.

Sungjong was busily decorating the room when he felt his cellphone buzz inside his jean’s pocket.

“Can’t wait to see you tonight – Myungsoo <3” Sungjong smiled as he read the message, he can’t describe the feeling that was forming in his stomach, it was between butterflies or that he was too nervous that he felt like throwing up, but he decided he’s choose the former.

Sungjong just finished cooking dinner; rather he re-heated the one Woohyun cooked earlier since he can’t cook very well. He wanted tonight to be special so he wouldn’t risk experimenting with tonight’s menu.

Their doorbell rang, which made Sungjong almost dropped the wine glass which he smuggled from their CEO’s office.

“Coming!” Sungjong took one last look in the mirror before opening the door

“Jongie!” The boy on the other side instantly gave Sungjong a bear crushing hug “Hyung, air” was the only thing that escaped Sungjong’s lips before being let go by Myungsoo.

“The dorm looks fancy! I couldn’t believe you did this” if there was one thing Myungsoo could keep in his pocket, it was Sungjong. The boy was too adorable for his own good and Myungsoo couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by his generosity.

“I’m glad you liked it hyung” Sungjong spoke shyly which made Myungsoo want to pinch his cheeks even more,”Aigoo, come here” Myungsoo planted a kiss on Sungjong’s cheeks, ”Seriously, I don’t know what I’ll do without you” Myungsoo smiled, those heart melting smiles that would make fan girls go ga-ga

“I’ll freshen up a bit, alright” he gave one last hug before leaving Sungjong rooted at the same spot

“Anything for you hyung” he smiled as he watched the retreating figure’s back

After a couple of minutes, Sungjong and Myungsoo are now seated at the table

“Just talk to him casually then give him the ring”

“But, what it I mess up? I couldn’t afford to stutter, especially not tonight” Myungsoo was almost perfect but, Sungjong couldn’t help but find Myungsoo’s stuttering adorable. He always stutters when he’s nervous or too excited that he tends to mix up his words.

“You’ll do fine” Sungjong placed his hand on top of Myungsoo to re assure him that everything will be alright

“Thanks, Jongie” he held Sungjong’s hand and gave it a squeeze. Sungjong couldn’t help but stare at Myungsoo’s eyes. Once you got a good look at it, it’s impossible to get it out of your head.

The doorbell rang once again and Sungjong instantly stood up and answered it.

“Finally, you came!”Sungjong let out an exasperated sigh

“I’m sorry, I got caught up with the recording and… what happened to the dorm?” Sungyeol was taken aback as he saw how the dorm was filled with balloons and petals. Also, there was a beautifully arranged table at the middle of the living room, where Myungsoo was waiting.

“I thought you wouldn’t come… if you didn’t I would date Myungsoo hyung myself” Sungjong said cheekily but was slapped by Sungyeol at the back, “I’d expose all of your sleeping photos if you do that”

“Tch, I was only joking, now go, your date is waiting” Sungjong lightly pushed Sungyeol towards Myungsoo, who was waiting patiently with a bouquet of roses

“Y-you planned all of this?” asked a dumbfounded Sungyeol towards his boyfriend who only replied a curt nod

“I helped” Sungjong hollered with a smirk on his face, “Stop ruining our moment, maknae” Sungyeol glanced back at Sungjong who raised both of his hands, ”Fine, I’ll get your food ready”

Sungjong served the pasta and other foods that Woohyun prepared; he insisted that these were the essential food to set the mood.

“Here’s you food” Sungjong gently placed them in front of the couple

“Thanks for your help Jongie” Myungsoo patted Sungjong at the back, “Yeah, the place looks great, Infinite’s maknae is one of a kind” Sungyeol did his gummy smile which made Sungjong giggle

“No problem” Sungjong excused himself and went to his room

Inside, Sungjong collapsed on the bed. He couldn’t hold it any longer, trying to be okay was hard.

Trying to smile when you see the person you like with someone else is excruciating. Myungsoo was Sungjong’s first love and it broke his heart when he found out that he liked someone else. Still, he encouraged his hyung to go for it, Sungjong told himself that if it would make Myungsoo happy, he’d be contented.

“If only I tried harder,” Sungjong clutched the bracelet Myungsoo gave him, well more likely pestered into giving him his favorite bracelet.

He was certain that he’d get over his feelings for Myungsoo but, it only got worse. The feeling of a one sided love was tiring. Aside from the constant heart aches, there were the endless nights where Sungjong would cry himself to sleep because he could hear Myungsoo and Sungyeol getting it on at the middle of the night.

The way those two would exchange glances during dinner. Honestly, Sungjong felt left out since his hyungs were all a couple and he was teased a couple of times because of that. Myungsoo would always come to his rescue, which didn’t help at all.

Sungjong’s tear kept falling but, he has to make a decision by tonight. He mustered all the courage he has left and went out of his room.

“Oh, Jongie, Sungyeol just went to the bathroom… are you crying?” Myungsoo felt alarmed when he saw Sungjong’s tear stricken face. He hated it when Sungjong cried, he told him that it doesn’t suit his face.

Sungjong took Myungsoo’s hand and returned the bracelet he once gave him, ”Why are you returning this?”Myungsoo was now confused as he stared at the silver trinket in his hand

“I’m sorry hyung” Sungjong’s eyes were starting to get red again, ”Sungjong, what’s wrong?”Myungsoo held Sungjong’s hand tightly

“This is all my fault but, I want you to be happy so I’m letting go” Sungjong smiled despite the tears that were falling on his pretty face

“Please forgive me for being like this, the person who loved you” Myungsoo was at a complete loss, he didn’t expect Sungjong to confess to him and it left him totally speechless

“I’ll be back in awhile” Sungjong let go of Myungsoo’s hand as he wiped the tears on his face

“Wait, Sungjong!” Sungjong darted through the door so that Myungsoo wouldn’t see his tears anymore

Myungsoo was about to go after him when Sunyeol went out of the bathroom

“Did I miss anything?” the look on Myungsoo’s face showed guilt and resenement

‘Why didn’t I see this before?’ he was thinking to himself when Sungyeol touched his hand, “What happened?” Myungsoo could just stare at him then he took a glance at the bracelet he was holding

“Myungie, is that for me?” Sungyeol happily took the bracelet then hugged Myungsoo tightly

“You’re the best Myung!” Myungsoo was left rooted on the ground as he stared at the door, ”I’m sorry Sungjong” he uttered softly.

Sungjong was now strolling the streets, ”You’ll be fine Sungjong” he smiled as he felt the wind caress his face, drying his tears in the process

“No more holding back” Sungjong suddenly found himself at the place where his hyungs went. Luckily, Hoya and Dongwoo went outside since their manager called.

“Jongie?” asked a surprised Hoya

“Hyung, let’s have some fun tonight!” Sungjong happily draped his arms on Hoya and Dongwoo, who just exchanged glances as if trying to figure out what’s wrong with Sungjong

“I’ll be fine hyung, don’t worry”
