I smiled and nodded understandingly, but that smile slowly faded away as soon as you walked away and it was replaced by a trail of tears. I stood still, vision blurring, and in that moment, I heard my heart break. It was a small clean sound, like the snapping of a flower's stem but it still hurt.
I choked on a sob and slowly fell on the floor, crumbling like a falling skyscraper. I leaned on the door frame for support, knowing that my body won't be listening to me any while.
I love you. Even when you have stopped calling , I still hear your voice ringing in my ears like it was yesterday, the words of our first 'I love you' and our last final goodbyes....
