this was written quite quickly because of the random spurt of inspiration... and has nothing to do with the word 'like' (sorry), but i wanted to share it anyway... Happy Birthday Minsoo-oppa! haha

Minsoo has what Daniel likes to call an ‘odd’ smile. It’s lopsided and shows his teeth that jaunt off in angles. His lips thin out and his eyes get even smaller. But, it’s undeniable that his whole face lights up and it’s so cute, Niel just wants to press his face together to make him ugly again. It’s a very distracting smile too. Minsoo’s rarely called upon in interviews but since he’s the leader, he gets asked the odd question; such is the case today. He’s answering the interviewer with that charming smile and that deep rumbling voice and Niel is… is… totally listening! Suddenly there’s laughter and loudmouth Chanhee is butting in, cutting off Minsoo’s honey-like voice. Niel wishes he had been paying attention because he wants to know what’s all the fuss about. He feeling Byunghun’s eyes probe and point him, trying to glare him out of his daydream. Jonghyun looks a little confused at Daniel’s blank silence too. Thankfully, the interviewer is professional and asks again.

“So, Niel-ssi, amongst the members, who has the best smile?” Daniel rolls his eyes internally — what a boring question — and lines up a snarky answer.

“Apart from me,” the members all holler at him, Chanhee hits him on the arm but he preservers. “I think CAP-hyung has the nicest smile.”

The surprise is obvious; jaws dropped and eyes have widened. “You’re meant to say me!” Chanhee hisses, hitting him again for good measure.

Niel puts on the fish/puppy dog ‘I-couldn’t-be-more-innocent’ eyes and turns to Chanhee. “But you look like a demented horse when you smile…”

Jonghyun guffaws and Changhyun titters uncontrollably whilst Byunghun looks a bit stunned and suppresses his laughter. Needless to say, Niel’s retort doesn’t get published in the mag.

They’ve just arrived home after another long day, and the pull of sleep is strong in Daniel; he wants nothing more than to collapse on his bed and sleep for a week or two. The other members go do whatever whilst the vocalist goes to the fridge to get some water. Minsoo suddenly appears once the door closes.

“Hi hyung,” he smiles cheerfully, uncapping the bottle and gulping down the refreshing cold drink.

“Why didn’t you choose Changhyun or Chanhee for that smile question?” He mumbles because it’s just like him to get tired of speaking too, especially since it’s late.

“Huh? Oh. Well… Lately, your smile is really… nice…” He stumbles. He wasn’t expecting to get questioned about his answer… why has Minsoo suddenly asked him about it?

The leader smirks a bit at Daniel, arms folded across his chest, leaning against the fridge. “Okay.”

“Okay?”

“Yeah. Okay.”

“Okay.” Daniel nods, focusing on his water again and Minsoo saunters off, leaving the younger alone in the kitchen.

That was weird… Good weird or bad weird, Niel can’t tell. He decides to shrug it off for now.
