“Are you excited to go home? You’ve been away the whole summer” her mom asked as she was packing her luggage

“Mom, about that. Can I talk to you?” asked Suzy

“Sure what is it?” asked her mom, pausing from packing

“You know that I’m going to stop for a semester right?” asked Suzy

“Well yeah, even though your dad and I don’t really approve but you’re old enough now so you can make your own decisions” she said

“Exactly, that’s why I’ve decided to stay here in Seoul, until next semester” Suzy said

“Why? I thought you were going to get a job?” her mom asked

“I am….here” she said

“What has gotten into you?” asked her mom, not understanding Suzy

“You know Kyuhyun right?” Suzy asked with a sigh

“The boy you said you aren’t dating? He got into you?? What??” her mother’s voice got louder

“Why do you think like that?? No!” Suzy shouted

“Just tell me, Suze” her mother said calmly

“We’re dating now and since we don’t want to be miles apart after an awesome summer, he asked me if I could stay here and I said yes…so can I?” she asked

“Ask your father” her mom said flat out

“Ask me what?” her dad said as he entered the room

“About staying here until next semester” said Suzy

“Next semester? That’s next year” he said

“I know…” said Suzy

“Why do you want to stay here? Don't you miss your friends? And what about the job?” he was asking all the relevant questions

“I do but don’t you think working abroad would look better on a resume?” she asked

“True… but don’t you know that passport and visa conditions wouldn’t allow you to stay that long?” he asked

“Why aren’t you mentioning that boy?” her mom suddenly interrupted

“What boy?” her dad asked

“That kid we met at the coffee shop” said her mom

“What about him?” he asked

“He’s your daughter’s boyfriend” she said

“He’s what?!” he shouted

“He’s not my boyfriend! We’re just dating” said Suzy

“Same difference. How did this happen?” he asked

“It just kinda happened….” Said Suzy

“If we let you stay, where will you live? And I will say “no” if you say you will live with him” said her dad

“Of course I’m not going to live with him! I’ll stay at Hansae’s place” said Suzy

“Hhhmmm…Hansae’s a good kid but you haven’t known him that long, what if he tries something?” he asked

“Dad, do you really think you wasted your money on all those taekwondo and boxing lessons?” she asked

“I trust you. It’s him I don’t think I trust” said her dad

“This is your fault I feel like I have two sons! You enrolled her in all those lessons when she could’ve done ballet and gymnastics instead” said her mom

“But at least she can defend herself right? Okay, I’ll make you a deal, I’ll allow you to stay but on 2 conditions” said her dad

“And they are….?” Asked Suzy

“First, you have to formally introduce us to this boyfriend of yours and second, if you tell us you’re pregnant, I don’t want you to come home anymore” he said with a very serious expression

“Fair enough. There’s no way in hell I’m getting pregnant, you know that right?” assured Suzy

“Right, so call up that boyfriend of yours and tell him to schedule a time for us to meet before we leave” he said

“He’s not my boyfriend” said Suzy

She knew her parents saying yes would be a long-shot but she couldn’t believe they actually let her. She jumped up and hugged him. Her mother wasn’t too happy with the idea but since she said “ask your father” it was his decision.
