Title: To Love & Dream

*Written in 3^rd person’s POV*

  It was already a month since the filming of Dream High 2 was finished. Due to the show’s rise in popularity, the casts of the show were well known as well. Especially the good-looking duo- JB & Jr. Being the main lead of the show, JB was very well liked by netizens due to the impact he brought to the character JB as well as the fact that his singing was quite splendid. Even though he was not made main lead, Jr too caught netizens eyes with his award winning good looks and his skillful dance moves. Rumours were that both JB and Jr were to debut in the upcoming M! Countdown. It was already leaked that the new rookie boyband from JYPE were to debut very very soon. Up until now, netizens await for the M! Countdown to finally see both JB and Jr as JJ Project to make their debut. Unbeknownst to the media and society was the fact that JB had injured his leg during practice and his injury was quite bad, up to the point where he might not be able to perform which also meant that JJ Project might not make their debut after all.

  There JB was. Stiff like a statue, lying on the hospital bed in his own private room where no other soul could be found other than the few visitors who would rarely come to see him and that grave-faced nurse. He was unable to sleep in other positions as he was unable to move his leg that was wrapped in the thick, white cast. He closed his eyes, in attempt of trying to shut himself out from the lonely state he was in. All he saw was darkness then, the faces of his family members whom he misses a lot but sadly, they didn’t know he was hurt. Then the last person that he thought about was his one and only team member looking extremely disappointed when he found out that they were unable to debut because of the state that JB was in. JB was brought out of his reverie when he felt a metal spoon had hit his forehead. JB gave a grimace of pain and looked up to glare at the attacker but his anger was replaced by guilt the moment his eyes met Jr’s ones. Feeling nervous, JB was first to break their eye contact and looked down to fiddle with his fingers. Jr rolled his eyes and gave out a long sigh.

“ Seriously? It’s about that again? How many times do I have to tell you that it’s not your fault?...”, Jr reassured JB, “I’m telling you, it’s okay”.

“No, it’s not!”, JB snapped, “ Because of me we’re going to miss our debut. Because of me, JYPE might get into a lot trouble. This is all because of m---“.

JB’s tear filled eyes flew wide open when he felt a pair of lips touch his. It was Jr’s. JB’s mind was in a state of daze but his eyes soon shut itself close and without thinking, JB kissed Jr back. Gradually, both became short  of breath and then the kissing stopped. Jr stared into JB’s confused eyes and just gave him a cheeky smile in return.

“I’ll help you. We’ll get through this. Just trust me, okay?” Jr said with eyes full with sincerity.

Still speechless by Jr’s actions, JB just smiled and nodded constantly in reply as he was tongue-tied and was secretly attempting to calm his racing heart down without Jr noticing.

From that day onwards, both tried their best to help JB’s leg to heal and function normally. After all the hard work, pain and determination, JB was indeed almost completely healed. All that was left was to remove the thick cast and JB would be fine. After finding out about JB’s healthy state, JYPE contacted both members to announce the good news- they would indeed be able to debut in the upcoming M! Countdown.

“ Really?!”, Jr exclaimed into his phone, “Yes! Thank you very much! Goodbye!” Jr then hung up on the PD of M! Countdown who was on the other line.

JB, who just came back from removing his cast at the surgery room, joined  Jr who was helping to pack his stuff as they were finally leaving the hospital. Jr who was still smiling happily while packing was in such a good mood that he did not notice the secret glances from his other team member. JB , who was just admiring Jr’s smile, started to recall on the kiss that they shared a few weeks ago. The fact that both of them never talked or discussed about it bothered him a lot but what was always on his mind was the fact that there was no sign of affection after that day. Just typical Jr gestures were present. That was all.

‘Perhaps he was just messing with me?’ JB muttered silently in his head but immediately shook the thought out of his head.

The truth was that JB couldn’t help but feel disappointed at his own thought. Suddenly, he heard Jr, who was behind him, clearing his throat. He quickly turned to face his dongsaeng.

“Yah! What are frowning about? Still feel sick?” Jr questioned while reaching out his hand to feel JB’s forehead, feeling wary of JB’s health.

The short moment of feeling the warmth emitted from Jr’s hand, JB couldn’t help but feel unsatisfied with the lack of skin-ship for the past week. Just when Jr was about to pull his hand back, JB grabbed it and held it tight, making Jr feel wary of the atmosphere all of a sudden. In attempt of trying to enlighten the atmosphere, Jr wiggled his eyebrows and started laughing, oblivious to the tense filled atmosphere.

“The kiss... Were you just messing around?” JB mumbled while looking down, afraid of rejection.

His chin was then lifted up by Jr and his eyes met Jr’s loving ones.

“Of course not” Jr replied with a cheeky smile and soon connected his lips with JB’s.

This was it. It was finally their time to shine and be the superstars they’ve always dreamt of being. Both members of JJ Project were currently standing on the stage at the M! Countdown, waiting for their song to play. JB who secretly glanced at Jr only thought of one thing a moment before their song ‘Bounce’ started playing- ‘ Who said it was impossible to dream and love at the same time?’ .
