The next morning, you woke up early. You did your daily routine, wore your uniform and headed downstairs with your backpack on your back.

“Good morning, sweetie.” Umma greeted. “Good morning.” You kissed umma’s cheek and poured yourself a bowl of cereal. “You woke up early today.” You nodded in agreement, and then your phone beeped.

You took out your phone. You got a new message. You opened it.

To: Eunjung

Wake up~ don’t be late again! And we’re gong for ice cream today no matter what. ;p

You rolled your eyes at the message.

To: Ilhoon oppa

I am awake! Arasso, Arasso. You complain too much. Goodness. Ice cream today? Deal.

Hehe. You’re up early. ;p Ice cream today! You can’t back out or I won’t talk to you anymore. Hehe. Just kidding. See you at school. (:

You smiled and shook your head. You put away your phone and continued to eat your cereal.

“Was that Ilhoon?” umma asked. You looked up at her and nodded. “He wants to eat ice cream today, since I rejected him yesterday.” You explained. Umma nodded. “Why don’t you and Ilhoon just date, sweetie?” umma asked, making you choke on your cereal.

“Aigoo. Swallow sweetie, swallow.” Umma patted your back. You wiped your mouth with the back of your hand. “U-umma.” You finally said. “Wae?” “How could you say that? Ilhoon oppa is like an oppa to me.” “I know but still. I think you guys look cute together and plus you guys have known each other for a long time now.” “Umma.” You pouted.

Umma chuckled. “Arasso, Arasso. I won’t talk about it anymore.” You sighed in relief. Then you glanced at your watch. “Umma, I’m going.” You said putting your bowl into the sink, kissed umma on the cheek. “Neh, have a good day.” Umma smiled. “Neh, you too.” You said before closing the door.

You walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus. Soon enough, it arrived and you got on. 20 minutes later, you got off and walked to school. When you reached school, Ilhoon was already there waiting for you. He was leaning against the wall, kicking the ground. You smiled.

“Ilhoon oppa!” you hollered. Ilhoon looked up and smiled. You waved. He ran up to you. “You’re early sleepily head.” Ilhoon teased. “Yah, Jung Ilhoon.” You frowned. “Hehe. Mianhae Eunjung-ah~.” Ilhoon cooed. You softened and smiled. “Aigoo, Ilhoon oppa.” You said pinching his cheek. “Ah. Apa, Eunjung.” Ilhoon pouted. You giggled and let go of Ilhoon’s cheek.

“Kaja.” You said walking inside the gate. “Yah, Eunjung wait for me.” Ilhoon said running after you.

“Ilhoon oppa, guess what my umma said today.” You turned to Ilhoon. “What did imo say?” Ilhoon asked curiously. You faced ahead. “She said we should date. I don’t know how she got that but isn’t it funny?” you laughed.

Ilhoon stared at you. *Imo said Eunjung and I shoulder date? So, if I ask Eunjung then imo would approve? Hehe. Now I can ask Eunjung without worrying about imo.* Ilhoon smiled victoriously.

“…but that’s not going to happen. You’re only an oppa.” You smiled. Ilhoon stopped walking.

*I’m only an oppa? You don’t see anything more than that?* Ilhoon felt like his heart broke into a million pieces. *Eunjung, I don’t want you to see me as an oppa but a man.*

“Ilhoon oppa.” You said waving your hand in front of Ilhoon’s face, but there was no respond. You blew a raspberry. “Earth to Ilhoon oppa. Hello~ anyone there?” you poked Ilhoon’s cheek.

“Huh?” Ilhoon blinked. “What were you thinking about?” you asked tilting your head. “Huh? Oh nothing.” Ilhoon forced a smile. “Are you sure? You don’t look so good.” You pointed out. “Nan Gwaenchana. Now let’s go to class before we’re late.” Ilhoon said walking ahead. You tilted your head in confusion. *But he- never mind.* you ran after Ilhoon and walked to class together.

Throughout the whole day, Ilhoon couldn’t get your words out of his head. It was the last class of the day. Just a few more minutes then it’ll be you and him time. He smiled at the thought of you.

BBRRRIIINNNGGG~

The bell rang, snapping Ilhoon out of his thoughts. He quickly packed his things and ran to your class.
