PROLOGUE:
Once upon a surgery,
How long had she been here? It felt like months. Hell, it felt like years.
She looked around the room. Hospital. She was in a hospital. It reeked of antiseptic and death.
But why was she here? And for long had she been here?
“Oh,” came a familiar voice. “Oh…oh my god, she’s awake! Honey, she’s awake!”
Mom.
“She is?”
Dad.
She turned her head to face her parents. Their kind eyes were filled with relief, happiness….and…something else. Something she didn’t usually see in her parents eyes. She tried to say something, anything.
Yet, nothing came out. Not a sound.
“Oh, sweetheart,” her mother brushed her hair out of her face. “The doctors say you wont be able to talk for about a week.”
She gave them a look that asked, Why am I here?
“There was an accident,” her father recalled. “You were at a signing for some weird boyband. Sparkly, I think? Anyway, things didn’t end too well.”
She titled her head at him—which hurt a lot to do—and frowned. She looked as if to say, What do you mean? Elaborate, please.
But before her father could explain, three men in black suits entered. “Ah, Dae-sshi, you’re awake! Excellent.”
Her mother gripped her wrist, the one she was carressing a second ago, a little too tightly. When Dae stared up at her, she saw a look of pure hatred flash in her mother’s eyes.
“Now, now,” one of the men said disapprovingly, removing her mother’s hand from Dae's wrist. “You can’t hurt our precious little idol.”
She stared at him, confusion in her eyes. Idol? What did he mean by that? As far as Dae knew, she couldn’t sing to save her life. And don't even get her started on her horrible dance skills.
“Ah,” the third man who hadn’t spoken yet, realized. “You didn’t tell her?”
“We were about to,” replied her mother. Her voice was hard.
“Well, let us take the burden of explaning for you, as you are doing a huge favour for us.” The man said, his lips twisting into a grin. Dae decided she didn't like that grin. Not one bit.
One of the men ushered her parents out of the room. Her father looked unwilling and her mother looked ready to kill the man, but they exited anyway.
"We'll see you soon," her father promised.
What on earth was going on?
“I can tell you’re confused,” the man by her bed said, ignoring the look of No , Sherlock ’Dae flashed him. “And this may sound rather unrealistic, but bear with us. See, two months ago, you were hit by a broken light fixture. It could have taken your life.”
She looked perplexed, but showed so signs of disagreement to that revelation, so he continued. “Luckily, or rather, not so luckily for us, this happened around the same time a certain idol nearby had suffered a fatal collapse, leaving him brain-dead.”
“So,” the man who ushered her parents picked up, “the doctors to transplant your perfectly function brain into said idol’s body. ”
Dae stared at him. You’re kidding, right?
“If you think we’re kidding, we’re not,” the man said. “As far the world is concerned, Kim Dae is dead. As for Lee Taemin? I’m talking to him at the moment and he is to be rehabilitated and is ready to perform SHINee‘s comeback album, Lucifer, in a few months. ”
He pulled a mirror from his back pocket and brought it to her face. Sure enough, staring back her was not her familiar dark brown eyes, or familiar short hair. No, staring back her was none other than SHINee’s Lee Taemin.
For a girl who wouldn’t be able to speak for at least a week, she could sure as hell scream.

A/N: As a huge fan of Cabot books, I decided to borrow the plotline of her story Airhead--which I highly recommend if you‘re looking for something funny, witty, and quite shocking. Though, this time, instead of it being a tomboy who switches with a teen model, it’s a fan girl who switches with a member of her favourite K-pop boyband.
Here’s a sneak peak at chapter one if you’re curious:
--
Dae—no, wait, Taemin—stared at the signs before her. It was a simple and self-explanatory, yet difficult and problematic at the same time. Before her—him, it—was two doors with two signs:
BOY’S BATHROOM.
GIRL’S BATHROOM.
With a sad shake of her head, she quietly made her back to her hospital room.
“I thought you were going to the bathroom,” said of the three men who were revealed to be her ‘bosses’.
“I tried,” she said simply.
“Then what?” One questioned. “What happened?” After a moment of silence, he realized what the problem. “Oh. Right. Oh…oh god.”
