"Passport?" 
"Check."
"Ticket?" 
"Slipped it in my passport, check."
"Cash?"
"For food, taxi & everything else for the time being,  Check."
"Phone?"
"Right here.."

Minyeon held up her Blackberry 9780 with earphones plugged to it for her mother to see.
"Good.." her mother sighed, "My baby's all grown up & going to High School overseas on her own.." she started sobbing.
"Umma.. It's okay. When was the last time I went out and didn't come back?!" asked her daughter.
"Well.. Never.." 
"Exactly.. I'm gonna be fine, especially when Tae unnie's gonna be there with me." Minyeon loved her mother & she couldn't bare to see her cry over this one little thing. Her dad had wished her the best earlier before going to work. 
"I promise I'll write to you guys every first week of the month." Minyeon said again, trying to calm her mother down. 
"Alright.." she chuckled but tears were coming out of her eyes. 
"Umma.. Stop crying.. Please.."
Her mother wiped her tears and hugged her.
"I'm gonna miss you Kim Minyeon.."
"I'll miss you too umma.."
She let go and turned to face the young man standing outside her door.
"Jungsu, I trust you'll take care of her & her sister out there."
"Ne, ahjumma.. They'll be safe in my protection, I can promise you that."
Mrs. Kim gave him a smile and walked back into her now quiet house.

Minyeon grabbed her luggage and carried it to the taxi's cabin. Since it was pretty heavy, her future brother-in-law, Park Junsu (or as people usually call him, Leeteuk), helped her shove it into the cabin. 
"Kamsahamnida oppa.." they high fived & went into the car.
It was a bright & sunny day in Jakarta, Indonesia. Minyeon remembered her first time here when she was 6. Her family moved from Korea due to her father's business but now she's going back to see her sister & her new school.
"You nervous?" asked the guy with an angelic smile.
"A little.. But hey, you only go to high school once." she smiled. They talked & talked until they reached the airport. 
"Soekarno-Hatta Airport.. Been a while since I last seen this place.." She took a deep breath as they walked into the building.

They got in and finished doing everything before reaching the waiting room where lots of other people were waiting for the gate to open. Minyeon looked at her phone, "7:50 a.m... 5 more minutes until we get to our seats." She some music with her earphones on and waited while Leeteuk browsed through his iPad. 

After 3 songs, the gate finally opened and they rushed in line to get to the plane.
"Do you want the window seat?"
"No, I'm good." she answered. 
After a message from the pilot, they took off. She took a last look at Jakarta's greenish view through the window, then sat back on her seat.
The flight took 6 hours so Minyeon was slightly suffering in boredom. She would talk to Leeteuk once in a while but the conversation wouldn't last long. She had always been a girl who keeps her feelings & thoughts to herself. She cared about her parents too much to make them worry. The only person she'd ever open up to was her beloved sister-slash-role model. Leeteuk understood that so he also kept his distance whenever it was needed. He also cared about his future sister-in-law but he & his fiancé thought this was all to let her be happy.
Truth is, Minyeon wanted to break the barricade. She was getting sick of being lonely & of nobody understanding her. Other than seeing her sister & fulfilling her dream in going to SM, her reason for studying in Korea was to start over in her life. She wanted to have friends. The girls in her old school were mostly snobby and annoying, which adds up to the list of reasons why she never thought about having friends. 

She brushed off her thoughts and went to sleep. Only to end up being wakened by Leeteuk 3 hours later. 
"Minyeonnie!! Get up!! We're here!!" Minyeon rubbed her eyes & looked out the window. The brilliant view of Korea was in sight and all she could do was stare in awe. 
"Welcome home.. Or should I say, Welcome back to your temporary home."
Minyeon smiled at him, then tilted her head back to continue watching the view.
She smirked and thought to herself, 
"SM, here I come."

"Yaboseyo?" 
"Noona!! Is she there yet?!!" 
"No!! For the ten billionth time, I'll tell you once they've arrived!!" 
Taeyeon yelled at her phone, more like to the person she's talking to ON the phone.
"But noona.. Couldn't you have brought me with you to the airport??"
"Again, also for the ten billionth time, she doesn't KNOW you!!"
"Fine.." Baekhyun murmured & then hung up.
"Ughh.." Taeyeon sighed as her junior finally hung up.

She put her phone back into her bag and turned around. Her sister was already running towards her with a smile plastered on her face. She jogged in her heels and hugged her sister. 
"Minnie~!!" 
"Tae unnie~!!"
Minyeon giggled as she let go of her hug. 
"I've missed you sooooo much.." 
"Me too.." Taeyeon replied as she pinched her sister's cheeks. Then Minyeon leaned closer and whispered, "Unnie.. Don't look now, but here comes your Prince Charming~"
Taeyeon looked up and saw her fiancé smiling towards her, walking so casually but attractively in their direction. Taeyeon slightly blushed as she did a 22.5 degree bow and greeted, "Leeteuk oppa.. Annyeongha siut seumnika?.." Leeteuk smiled warmly at her and said, "Annyeong.. Ne, I'm fine, thanks for asking." He patted her on the head, causing Minyeon to tease them and playfully say, "Aigoo. Hurry up & graduate, then get married already!!" the couple laughed and Taeyeon hugged her again, "Good to see you again lil Minster~" Minyeon merong-ed at her and they walked to the parking lot, where their ride was waiting. 

*BeepBeep*
Once again, Leeteuk helped Minyeon with her luggage and headed towards the passenger's seat. As he was walking past the backseat's door, Taeyeon yelled out, "Yah.." then threw her car keys in the air, towards the guy.
Leeteuk caught the keys in reflex and turned to face Taeyeon, "You're driving." she finished and giggled, then went into the passenger's seat instead. Leeteuk smiled and went into the driver's seat. He started the car and then they drove to campus, where the Principal, Lee Soo Man, was eagerly waiting to meet the new, young student.

"Taeyeon-ssi, Jungsu-ssi!! Where's the newcomer?" 
"Annyeonghaseyo Principal Lee. This is my dongsaeng, Minyeon."
"A-Annyeonghaseyo.." she did a 90 degree bow, "jireum eun Kim Minyeon Ibnida.."
"Annyeonghaseyo." The principal greeted with a smile, "So are you excited for your first day in SM?" 
"Ne, and nervous too.." Minyeon replied with a giggle.
"Haha, you'll be fine. You can turn to any one of us or the teachers if you need anything." he said while leading them to the dorms. 
"Taeyeon, please your sister to your room." 
Minyeon turned to face her sister, with sparkly eyes, "We're rooming together?!!" Taeyeon winked at her.
Mr. Lee continued, "Well, I'll be going now. It was nice meeting you Minyeon, good luck on your studies." 
"Kamsahamnida Mr. Lee" with that, he walked away.
"I gotta go too, I've got a meeting in an hour." Leeteuk said as he looked at his watch. 
"Oh okay.. Oppa Hwaiting!!" Taeyeon wished him luck and he kissed her forehead.
"See ya Minyeon." he waved to the girls and left.

Taeyeon led her sister to their room and stopped in front of a pink & green-ish door. Minyeon opened it and inside was probably the coolest bedroom she's ever seen.

"Aigoo~ this room is amazing!!" she beamed, observing every inch of the room. Taeyeon helped bring her luggage and they unpacked.

"Unnie, I got this for you while I was still in Jakarta.." she took out a necklace and showed it to her sister.

"Wah.. Gomawo!! It's cute!!" Minyeon loved the way her sister reacted, it was cute. She had always looked up to Taeyeon, and sometimes even envied her (in a good way). She envied her for being so perfect in her eyes. Good grades, great voice, great personality, and already engaged with the man she loves. Minyeon still hasn't known what love is or how it feels like due to her coming from an all girls' school. She's just thankful that their faces look really similar, so they share the cuteness (LOL) .

"Tae unnie, when do i start my classes?" she asked the slightly taller one. "Hmm.. Tomorrow at 7. So I get to take you on a tour around campus." Minyeon jumped with joy and hurriedly unpacked everything. She got herself a quick wash and put on her favorite set of clothing.

"You ready?" asked Taeyeon, Minyeon nodded. They walked out the room and passed the hallways. People were greeting her sister like she was a celebrity. Being the shy girl she really is, Minyeon kept quiet and walked beside her sister all the way, not paying attention to the stares people were giving. They passed the school canteen and Minyeon saw some boys having a soccer match on the field. "Min, I'm gonna get something to eat, do you want anything?" Minyeon thought for a while & said, "No, I'm still pretty stuffed. I think I'll go watch the soccer match." "Okay.." Taeyeon walked to a nearby stall while Minyeon leaned on the bars surrounding the field. She always liked watching sports but never had the time to try playing them. After a bunch of goals & fouls, a certain boy caught her attention. He had a cute face and there was something about his voice that caused her to keep her eyes & ears on him. He had such smooth moves when he played and she just couldn't help but stare the entire time.

"..So did you find someone interesting?.."

she jumped when she heard a familiar voice sneak up on her ear. Her face went red and it felt warm, "What's going on? Why's my face so hot? And why's my heart racing so fast??" she thought. "Unnie!! Don't sneak up on me like that!!" Taeyeon  laughed and said, "Mian, mian.. It's just that you looked so focused on the game, I couldn't help myself." she giggled. "But seriously, was there a guy out there that caught your eye?" Minyeon searched for the boy and looked towards his direction. Taeyeon tracked on where she was looking & found out who it was. She smirked and thought of a plan. "Yknow what, nevermind. Let's continue our tour." said Taeyeon. Minyeon murmured, "Oh.. okay.." Taeyeon sighed and asked, "Or do you wanna stay here?" "What?!! No!! I'm coming!!" exclaimed Minyeon. The same questions bounced in her head, "Why do i feel like I'm about to collapse? Why's my heart beating so hard & so fast? What the heck IS this feeling?" She clutched on her sister's hand and continued walking. She brushed off her thoughts for the time being and enjoyed the tour. They went to a bunch of different classes, science labs, dance studios, parks and the last stop was the library. Minyeon found a book she liked and borrowed it using her new library card.

"Kim Minyeon. New girl huh?" the librarian asked as she stamped a book. She looked up and smiled warmly at her,

"Welcome to SM Academy, I hope you enjoy the book."

"Thank you." replied Minyeon. They went to the canteen and bought some KFC for dinner. Minyeon waited, sitting on a nearby table as her sister was ordering. She was kind of disappointed when she saw the empty field. Taeyeon noticed as she walked towards her with a bag full of food in her hand. "You'll see him again soon, I can promise you." Minyeon shot her sister a look, "You know who I was looking at?!!" she blushed again while Taeyeon laughed. "Let's just say I have a pretty good idea." They went back to their room and had dinner. While they were washing the dishes, Taeyeon told her, "Hey Min, I have a friend. No, a best frenemy. His name's Byun Baekhyun. He's like a little brother to me so I hope you two get along~" She used a playful tone when she said 'get along'. Minyeon sighed as she heard her sister say that, she thought, "You want me to get along with some guy?.. *sigh* Fine.. It won't be easy but I'll try.. It's unnie's friend so I guess it should be okay.."

They finished cleaning up and watched some TV. It was 8:35 as Minyeon was browsing through her phone, checked for updates & found none. She tried focusing on the TV to reduce her boredom but her eyelids were getting heavy & she started yawning.
"Maybe you should go to bed early, you've had a long day. Plus, you're gonna be waking up at 5:30 tomorrow." Taeyeon persuaded her to go to bed. 
"What about you unnie?" Minyeon asked.
"I'm used to sleeping late & waking up early thanks to homework and exams. You on the other hand, need some getting used to."
Minyeon nodded and went to bed, Taeyeon turned the TV off and went to her study desk.
"Unnie's so diligent.." thought Minyeon, she turned to face the window so she won't be distracted nor will she distract Taeyeon. Even though her eyelids were already heavy & she kept on yawning, she couldn't sleep. All she could think of was the guy she saw on the field. His looks, his smile, his voice, his laugh. The questions that had been bothering her the entire day came back.. 
"Who is he? What's this feeling? Why can't I make my body stop acting this way? Why is it that HE can make me feel this way??"
She tried forgetting about the questions but it made her insomnia worse. She looked at the clock and it was 9:50. She turned and found her sister already asleep. She decided to let the questions flow and finally drifted off to sleep.

~Flashback~

"Yaboseyo?"
"Oppa.."
"Ne? What is it?"
"I sorta need your help.. 
You see.. I think Minyeon's finally fallen in love."
"Mwo?!!" That's great then!! With whom?!!"
"It's someone we know.. It's still a hunch but I'm pretty sure it's him!! He was having a soccer match in the field this afternoon."
"Oh..? You sure it wasn't someone else?"
"When he walked to the corner of a bench all alone with no one around him Minyeon's eyes directed towards him, how sure do you think I am?!! "
"Haha okay okay.. You sound so cute when you ask rhetorical questions. So where do I come in?"
"..Well I'm planning on officially introducing her since he's been jumpy about meeting her since last week when I told him about Minyeon. And this morning while I was waiting for the two of you at the airport he kept on calling me on the phone, asking me whether she had arrived!!"
"Wow.. What did you tell him to the point where he'd be so hyper of Minyeon's arrival?"
"I showed him a picture of her & only told some basic stuff about her, which is probably the reason why he's so curious about her.."
"And my role?"
"Oh right.. Mian!!"
"Haha.."
"Um.. Maybe once they're close enough you could ask him what he thinks of Minyeon?"
"Okay.."
"Kamsahamnida oppa~ I have to go now.. big day tomorrow.."
"Anything for my girls.. Sweet dreams.."

*brrrrrrriiiiiinggg*
"Minnie!! Min!! Wake up!! It's 5:30!!"
Minyeon rubbed her eyes & went to the bathroom. She got herself washed and came out in her casual wear. 

"Morning Tae unnie.."
"Morning.."
"Unnie?? Where are you??"
"Over here!!"
Minyeon went to the other side of the room and found her sister.
"Omo!! You have your own kitchen?!!"
"Yes I do, now sit down & eat your bacon & eggs." Taeyeon sat on a chair opposite of her sister and they dug in.

"Minyeon-ah, come to the canteen at lunch, I want to introduce you to that friend of mine."
"Ne.. By the way unnie, when do your classes start?"
"At 9, why?" 
"That's so good.."
"Heck no it's not.. Trust me, you don't have anything to do in the morning, you never know when you'll be late and.." she looked up to face her sister, "I'd rather be early to spend more time with my sister in the evening."
"Unnie~ don't worry. While you're away I'll have more time to study."
"Actually, I was hoping we could study together. I mean who knows when you'll want to go out with friends or go on a date-"
Minyeon choked on her last piece of bacon when she heard the last word, 
"Uhuk uhuk.. *clears throat* Date?!!"
Her face turned bright red while Taeyeon laughed.
"I'm just kidding.. But if you do, then we'd have even less time together. I wanna catch up on what we've been missing these past 5 years. We never exactly got to have any sister talk whenever I went back to Indo. Our parents would always flood me with questions, remember?"
"Oh.. Right.."
Taeyeon drank her cup of chocolate milk as Minyeon rechecked everything she was going to bring to class.
"Okay.. I've got everything. I'll be going now unnie. Good luck in college. Hwaiting!!"
"You too. Hwaiting!!"
Minyeon grabbed her backpack and went out the door.

"Let's see.. Chinese Class 10-A.. C10-A.. C10-A, Ah!! Here it is." 
She was about to swing the door open when she heard someone yell, "I'm late!! I'm late!! Oof!!"
The stranger bumped into her on the side and when she turned to see who it was, it felt as if time stopped.
"Ah!! Mian!!"
She snapped out of her daze and said, "Ah.. N-No, it's okay.." She saw a bunch of books on the floor and helped the stranger pick them up.
"H-Here you go.."
"Ah, kamsahamnida!! I'll see you next time!!"
The stranger waved and Minyeon waved back. 
"Calm down, nae mami!!" she thought to herself and went into her class. 
No one had come and the only person inside was the teacher. 
"Annyeonghaseyo. You must be the new student."
"Annyeonghaseyo.. *90 degree bow* Ne, my name's Kim Minyeon.."
"Oh yes, Minyeon-ssi. Since you're the first to arrive, you've got your pick on where you want to sit in this class."
"Oh, thank you but I'll sit up front."
"Ah okay. So are you always this punctual?"
"Mwo?.."
"You came in at exactly 7 a.m. You remind me a lot of your sister."
After mentioning Taeyeon, Minyeon blushed and felt honored since she was finally similar to her sister other than in looks.
"Oh.. Actually, I was going to come in a bit earlier but someone bumped into me and I helped him pick up his things so.."
She scratched the back of her head.
"I see.. Nonetheless, you still came early."
Minyeon chatted with the teacher a bit more about the lesson and soon, all the other students came in one by one.

--Lunch Time--

After 2 hours of Chinese & 3 hours of dancing, Minyeon packed her stuff and went to the canteen where she could see her sister sitting in an empty table with her back facing her way. Sitting beside her was a boy whose height was slightly taller than her.  She took a deep breath and headed their way. 
"Annyeong.." she said as she was only a few steps behind her sister. Taeyeon turned to face Minyeon and said, "Oh annyeong.. Minyeon, I want you to meet my friend, Byun Baekhyun." 
Minyeon looked up and saw the same boy who got her mesmerized the day before.
"Oh!! Annyeong!!" Baekhyun stood up and bowed 90 degrees
"Jireum eun Byun Baekhyun ibnida, but you can call me Baekhyun oppa. Oh and thanks again for earlier, you saved my books." 
Minyeon's heart skipped a beat when he thanked her. She remembered the scene that happened earlier before she went into class.
"You know each other already?" Taeyeon asked with a smirk.
"I woke up late this morning so I ran as fast as I could to class. But along the way I bumped into Minyeon here. My books fell and she helped me pick them up."
"I see.." Taeyeon eyed her sister and smirked, "Well then sit down you two!! The food's gonna come any minute."
"Yo~" said a familiar voice. Minyeon turned her head and saw Leeteuk carrying a tray of food coming their way. 
"Omo oppa!! Here, I'll help you." Taeyeon helped Leeteuk put everything on the table and the 4 of them had lunch. Leeteuk was sitting opposite of Taeyeon so Minyeon was sitting opposite of Baekhyun. While Minyeon was eating, Baekhyun nudged her but due to her face being red, she didn't dare to face him. Baekhyun didn't notice so he directly leaned to her, causing her to slightly blush even more, and said,

"These two should just hurry up and get married already." 

She couldn't help but laugh at his statement, she no longer felt the need to hide her face, she wanted to act as freely as possible around him. "Jackpot!! I made her laugh at a first impression!! One point for Baekhyun!!" he mehrong-ed at the girl sitting next to him and turned to Minyeon, who said, "Funny, I was thinking the same thing.." "Oh!! Up high!!" Baekhyun beamed and they high-5ed, with Minyeon still laughing. Baekhyun liked the way she laughed and said, "Aigoo.. Noona, you're sister's so cute!!" he ruffled Minyeon's hair which made her blush, again. "Well, duhh.. She's just like her sister~" Taeyeon said with a proud tone. "Like you?!! No way~!! Minyeon's way cuter~ You're old!!" Baekhyun teased Taeyeon again and she replied by saying, "Yah!! I'm freaking only THREE years older than you!!"

"3 years?.. That would make him 20 years old this year.. Only 5 years older than me.." Minyeon smiled only at the thought of Baekhyun, "Wait.. Why am I smiling for no reason? And why do I have to care about how much older he is than I am?" Again she ducked her head so they wouldn't see her blushing face. "Ughh!! Whatever!!" Taeyeon finally gave in on the fight, but she smiled as she saw her 2 dongsaengs, looking like they're having fun. After about 2 hours of talking & chatting & laughing. They greeted eachother and said their "See you later"s. The first day was Monday and Minyeon only had 2 classes, so lunchtime would mean the start of her freedom for the rest of her day. She went back to her room, opened her laptop and switched on some music & practiced while charging her phone. She practiced the dance routine she learnt in her dance lesson and tried mastering the moves. After 3 hours of practicing, she was able to work out the entire dance but it still wasn't perfect. She decided to stop her practice for the time being and got herself washed, wanting to watch Baekhyun play ball again. She went to the canteen and bought a bottle of water and ran to the field. To her surprise, a bunch of other girls were sitting on the bleachers and it was almost packed. She sat on the far edge of the bench and watched as Baekhyun's team, EXO-K won against the opposing team, EXO-M. Sure it was practice since both are from the same team (EXO) but it felt like an actual match since all the players were so pro at the game. Minyeon waited until everyone was gone and while Baekhyun practiced alone, she had the courage to give him the drink she bought.

He was sitting on the grass and panting, Minyeon walked over and once she was right behind him, she said, "Baekhyun oppa?" Baekhyun turned to face her and a smile spread on his face. "Minyeon!! Annyeong!!" "O-Oppa, here, drink some water." Minyeon groggily said as she gave the bottled water to her senior. "Oh, kamsahamnida." Baekhyun gladly took it and drank from it. He then patted the grass, gesturing her to sit next to him. "Calm down, nae mami." she thought as she sat next to the boy covered in sweat.

"So how was your first day here in SM?" Baekhyun asked her with a smile.

"Oh, yknow.. Getting along with the teachers wasn't too hard. It's the people sitting around you that get on your nerves."

"Really? I thought that was the other way around.." He rubbed his temples and flashed a smile. Minyeon could feel her cheeks burning up and looked down as fast as she could to prevent him from seeing it. She took a deep breath an asked,

"H-How long have you been here oppa?" Baekhyun looked up to the sky and said, 

"Hm.. I've only been here for about a year." Minyeon shot him a surprised look and said,

"Seriously?!! I thought you had been in SM for at least 4 years now. How'd you know Tae unnie anyway?"

Baekhyun laughed and told her his story. Minyeon listened carefully while she gazed at Baekhyun. She kept on smiling the entire time she was with him. They talked & talked about their interests, their stories, probably everything. Minyeon could feel her heart race faster and faster every minute. Finally it was time for them to go back to the dorms.

"Oppa, I better be going now. Thanks for talking to me and keeping me company when I had nothing to do.." she giggled and Baekhyun replied,

"Ne, it was nice talking to you too. Then I guess I'll see you some other time & we'll talk some more."

"Yeah.. See ya Baekhyun oppa~" Minyeon bowed and jogged to her room. She got in and leaned against the door with a smile still plastered on her face. She was panting and slightly sweating but inside she felt all good & jumpy.

"Minnie!! Where have you been?!! You look like you just won a marathon!!" Taeyeon exclaimed as she saw her sister breathing heavily but smiling so happily.

"Unnie!!" she grabbed her sister by the arms, "What is this I'm feeling?? Why is my heart racing so fast?? Why do I feel so happy??" Taeyeon chuckled at her sister's expression.

"Minyeon!! Calm down!! I can explain ev-"

"And why is it that whenever I'm with Baekhyun oppa I keep on smiling, my heart beats faster every second, I get nervous and I can't take my mind off of him?!! Why unnie?? WHY??"

Taeyeon hugged the younger girl and said, "Kim Minyeon.. You finally know what love feels like.." she let go and led her to their beds, "So tell me all about what you did today!!"

Minyeon smiled and told her sister everything she and Baekhyun talked about. Taeyeon kept on smiling & laughing as Minyeon enthusiastically talked about the boy she had a crush on. 

On the other hand, Leeteuk called Baekhyun and invited him to have some man-to-man talk.

"So what do you think of Minyeon?" Baekhyun jumped when he heard her name and his heart started racing. "Why'd I startle like that?!!" he thought. He took a deep breath and answered,

"W-Well, she's cute, I can tell you that. No wonder the two of you love her so much."

"You think she'll dig you?" joked Leeteuk. Baekhyun shot him a look but then chuckled and said,

"Hyung, we just met.." 

"Well, who knows.. Maybe you both'll fall for each other."

"I-I don't know hyung, she's great and all but right now she's only like a sister to me.. Like Taeyeon noona."

"Yeah.. A sister.. She's like a sister. And I only startled because he suddenly brought her up. Yeah.. I'll go with that. Besides, she'll never like a guy like me. She deserves a lot better.." he frowned at the thought of it, then shook it off and re-thought, "She's a sister. Just a sister. Yeah.."

Months passed by just like that and now they were getting close to final examinations. Minyeon & Baekhyun kept on seeing each other whenever they had the time and went out as a 4-personed group with Taeyeon and Leeteuk before the mid-year exams rushed in. The younger ones didn't have anything wrong with meeting up, it was their seniors that were having relationship problems. Whenever Leeteuk asked Taeyeon on a date, she'd be too busy studying. And whenever Taeyeon had the time, he'd be too busy in his office. Since it was Taeyeon's last year in SM, she had to study extra hard to graduate. The 2 rarely see or talk to each other again. Both didn't want to bother each other but inside, they were breaking down. Taeyeon's heart broke even more when Leeteuk said that due to a tight schedule he might not be able to come to SM's Prom, Taeyeon's LAST Prom. He said he'd try his best to come but Taeyeon insisted him to focus on his job through the phone. After hanging up, Minyeon could hear her sister cry on her bed while she was studying. She knew her sister needed some time on her own so she didn't bother to ask about her situation. Leeteuk was also breaking down inside, he would get insomnia thinking about the girl he loved. He couldn't take it anymore so he moved all the possible schedules to finish them earlier. After rearranging his schedule, he found that his final meeting finishes exactly an hour before prom. He'd have enough time to go home, change and reach campus. But he wanted it to be a surprise, so he didn't tell anyone that he was going to prom.

The seniors had to go on stage and perform for prom & Taeyeon decided to perform a song called "Baby Steps" wth her classmates, Tiffany & Seohyun. They practiced hard and Minyeon was rooting for them. She knew what her sister was going through and gave her utmost support. These 2 siblings were probably the only ones who truly understood one another.

A month before finals, Minyeon took up the courage to talk to Baekhyun on what he sees in a girl. She put on an outfit that was comfortable yet stylish & went out. They met up at a nearby cafe and chatted for a while before Minyeon took a deep breath, and finally asked, 

"S-So Baekhyun oppa, I have this 'friend' who likes this guy and-" Baekhyun had an uneasy feeling in his stomach when he heard Minyeon's question. He thought to himself, "Relax Baekhyun, it's her friend, not her. And besides, Minyeon's just a sister.." and continued listening to her, "And I was wondering if you think she should tell this guy if she likes him.." Baekhyun said,

"Is she the same age as you?"

"Um.. Yes.."

"Well then tell her this.. Tell her to forget about the guy and just focus in school. She came here to study didn't she? Then why waste her time and thoughts on some guy? Right Minyeon?!"

She didn't answer, she was trying to sink into what Baekhyun said, what the very guy who she loved said. It felt as if a razor sharp knife had pierced into her chest. She was breathing deeply while Baekhyun leaned closer, getting worried about her, "Minyeon? Are you okay? Are you sick?" She took another deep breath and said, "No, it's nothing, I'm fine.." she looked at her phone and tried thinking of an excuse to leave. Then she thought of something,

"Oppa, Tae unnie's calling.. I have to go.." she stood up from her chair and so did Baekhyun. He said, "Do you want me to accompany you?"

Minyeon held back her tears and said, "No, it's okay.." but her voice slipped when she said the last phrase and as she turned around, tears started falling down her cheeks. She walked as fast as she could back to her room. She fell on her bed and cried until she fell asleep. Taeyeon had been in the room the entire time. She went over to Minyeon's bed and properly tucked her sister in. She whispered to her, "My poor agi, you're such a strong girl.. Minyeon, I envy your strength.." she gripped her sister's hand, "Hang in there sis, we'll make it through, somehow." Taeyeon took a deep breath and went to bed as well.

The next morning, Minyeon opened up again to Taeyeon, she told her what happened that evening and the senior gave her sister a warm hug. Minyeon hugged her back and took a deep breath, then said,

"Tae unnie.. If that was how Baekhyun oppa thought our relationship had to be, then I wanna try forgeting about him. Completely."

"Are you sure?.."

"Ne.. It's obvious that he doesn't feel the same way as I do. And besides, I'm still new at this love-thing, so this is pretty good experience.."

Minyeon forced a smile while Taeyeon hugged her again.

"Unnie, you know you can open up to me too.."

"Thanks dongsaeng-ah.. But I think we've both cried out enough tears for the time being."

3 weeks passed with Minyeon studying and avoiding Baekhyun. She'd ignore most of his calls and not watch him practice anymore. 

Baekhyun, being bothered by what happened that evening, and the distance between them these days, couldn't take it anymore. He hated how Minyeon kept on avoiding him and the awkwardness was killing him. He finally decided to call Leeteuk and asked for his advice. 

"Dude, you're so blind. Can't you see she's got a thing for you?!!"

"No way.. She said it was a friend. And besides, she's only a sister to me.." 

Leeteuk smacked him on the back of his head and yelled out, "You pabo!! You love her!! You know you do!!"

"Okay fine!! I love her!!" blurted Baekhyun, he blushed right after, making Leeteuk pat his junior on the back.

"Hyung.. I said some stuff I shouldn't have and now.. This is the price I pay. What should I do?.."

Leeteuk thought for a while, then got an idea.

Baekhyun walked along the halls and he'd wave to Minyeon whenever he saw her. She would act as though she didn't see him and go some place else, a place where there's no Baekhyun to re-stab her on the chest. He'd chase after her but lose track every time. He once tried to visit her dorm but instead he saw Taeyeon walking down the hallway. He called out to her but she weakly greeted him after what he did to her beloved sister.

"Noona, How's Minyeon?"

"She's fine, why do you care?.."

"Noona.. Are you mad?"

"After what you told my sister, you're lucky I'm still willing to talk to you." Taeyeon said bluntly with a cold tone.

"Noona.. Please.. I need your help.. I know I did the stupidest thing and I'm really sorry.. So please let me make it all right again." he did some aegyo and Taeyeon gave in because he seemed so sincere, but she gave him a warning, "Minyeon might not see you the way she used to anymore. So you better be prepared of what's in store for you."

"Ne!! Kamsahamnida noona!!" he bowed 90 degrees and they went back to their dorms. He decided to wait until prom to tell her how he really felt.

~PROM~

The day everyone had been waiting for, except for the Kim sisters. Minyeon put on her best dress, in hope that Baekhyun would see her and how good she looked. She's been avoiding him for the past month and to be honest, it was eating her up. Not being with the man she loved made her fall even more for him. She couldn't stand it anymore so she decided to tell him straight on Prom-Day. She looked into the mirror one last time with her sister..

     

"You look amazing unnie.." she said with a smile. They weren't wearing too much make up since they were naturally beautiful..

" You too.. " Minyeon held her sister's hand and said, "Unnie.. You know I'm always here for you.." Taeyeon wrapped her arm around her shoulder, "Let's go.." and they walked to the ballroom. The song "Twinkle" was playing and a bunch of people were dancing on the dance floor. They joined in the fun and soon had forgotten about their worries, their exam results and thankfully, the boys.

Leeteuk was already set as he was driving to campus, the meeting took a while longer than he planned and he rushed as fast but as neatly as he could to give off a good impression to his fiance. Meanwhile, Baekhyun was standing in a corner of the ballroom, eyes focused on Minyeon and his head in chaos since he hadn't known what he was suppose to tell her. It was good enough that Leeteuk & Taeyeon were willing to help him, in giving advice and picking the right set of clothes. In a few minutes, Taeyeon was about to perform. She already headed backstage after getting a 'Hwaiting' boost from Minyeon. The younger sister went to get some punch and leaned against a wall as she watched her sister sing with an angelic voice..

The awkwardness was killing the both of them. Minyeon ducked her head since she was starting to blush and her heart was already racing. Baekhyun looked up to the ceiling and both of them took a deep breath. Minyeon looked up and was surprised as Baekhyun offered a hand and slightly bowed.

"May I have the honor of having this dance?.." Minyeon blushed and put her hand on top of his. He led her to the dance floor and started slow dancing.

"You didn't even answer my calls.."

"I turned my phone off most of the time.."

"Then why didn't you call me instead whenever you had the time?.."

"Because I didn't think you'd want to answer to someone who kept on thinking about some guy instead of studying hard like the oth-"

Minyeon froze & so did Baekhyun.. She ducked her head & gripped on his suit, trying to hold back her tears.

He leaned forward and kissed her forehead, then hugged her tight. She hugged back and sunk her face onto his chest, with more tears flowing out. Baekhyun led her outside and they continued dancing under the moonlight.

Taeyeon had already finished singing and she saw her juniors walk out the room. She sighed in relief to see that her sister's finally happy. Then she felt an arm curl around her waist and a familiar voice saying, "Well they've finaly got their happy ending.. What about us?" She turned around to find her fiance in a tux and hugged him with all her might.

"Oppa.. You came.."

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world.." he led her to the center of the ballroom and they slow danced together as well.

"Oppa..?"

"Hm..?"

"Do you think we'll ever be as happy as Tae unnie & Leeteuk oppa?"

She looked up and they gazed into each other's eyes.

"..No.. We'd be even happier.."

They stopped dancing and sat on the grass. Baekhyun took off his jacket and placed it around Minyeon. She rested her head on his shoulder and they treasured the moment, wishing it would last forever..
