Small Slip of Fate - OneShot [Yamada X OC]

Small Slip of Fate - Yamada Ryosuke X OC [OneShot]

“This is hopeless…” Ryosuke uttered, taking a deep breath while he finally tries to settle in on his seat. He’s actually very anxious because he has never really travelled on a plane wherein he and the other JUMP members aren’t really sitting next to each other. This time around, they’re all sitting pretty far from each other – not to mention, BEST actually has a different flight than 7.

Yes, Yamada Ryosuke has indeed travelled on a plane by himself – but that was on a flight to Korea, along with an almost Japanese-filled plane, and the flight lasted for only about a couple of hours. But this one: it’s a flight from Vancouver to Tokyo – approximately 9 to 10 hours long, and on a foreigner-filled plane.

He took one more deep breath then looked out the window – at least he got this kind of seat. There’s a little something to do. Looking out, he watches as the roving little trucks loads the rest of this flight’s baggage. Vancouver has been a nice new place to add to the foreign places he’s been. This summer, they were brought here for photo shoots. It’s a bit rainy to be honest, but it seems like that was the target for the entire month’s issue anyways.

“Oi Yama-chan…” It was Chinen, who seemingly walked about an entire line of seats.

Ryosuke looked at him, a pout on his face. “It’s really unfair that you’re sitting just a couple of seats away from Yuto-kun and Keito.”
Chinen rolled his eyes and handed him something – it was their handy translator. “Keito’s worried that you’re on your own.” He grinned and Ryosuke scowled taking the little tiny device. “Just sleep. I always sleep.”

“This entire flight’s just messed up!” Ryosuke’s voice raised a little but Chinen tried to hush him as the last set of passengers start boarding. Chinen just turned around and immediately his eyes were wide as he noticed he’s almost bumped onto someone behind him. “Ah! Sumi… eh… S-sorry.”  He congratulated himself for quickly thinking, then frowned a bit seeing that who he almost bumped into looks Asian enough – although he can’t be too confident if she’s Japanese.

The girl just smiled at Chinen and was about to pick up her book when Ryosuke already did so and hand it to her. “Thank you.” She said, and by this Chinen and Ryosuke knew well that she’s probably a native English speaker – her accent reveals nothing but pure English.

With Chinen staring a bit – he really can’t help but want to ask if she’s by any chance a Japanese. He opened his mouth to say something but soon he heard Keito whispering to him from afar. As Chinen looked to Keito and Yuto’s way, they were already asking him to come back. It seems the plane’s taking off pretty soon. He then faced the girl, apologized one more time, bowed and just waved at Ryosuke before he goes back to his seat.

The girl smiled as she looked at Ryosuke, then she took the seat just next to his. It seems she’ll be her seatmate. Ryosuke can’t help but feel even more anxious. Sure she looks Asian, but she definitely didn’t sound like one.

Flight attendants started their rounds as final announcements and reminders were made. The plane is about to take off. Ryosuke watched the screen in front of him as it showed the usual safety reminders both in English and French – or so that’s what Keito said the other language was. Either way, none of them makes sense to Ryosuke – but the video was enough to give him information. And come on, it’s not like he hasn’t seen a Japanese version of this before.

Few more minutes, and Ryosuke found himself just taking in a deep breath as he feels the plane shaking a little, telling him it’s moving. They’re getting into take-off position.

The speed picks up, he can see outside his window the scenery moving faster – it feels like he’s inside a car. And as if he knows the feeling of flight well enough, as the speed increases more, Ryosuke blew a little the exact moment the plane left the ground. He can feel the shaking gone in an instant, replaced by the gusty hits of the wind.

He looked beside him – the only seatmate he has since the window seats only occupy two people, and she was just looking up at the ceiling, looking very relaxed. He can’t help but notice those headphones hanging on her neck. It’s almost the same as Yuto’s white ones.

They gain more altitude, sending little tiny sensations to everyone’s stomach as they go higher, and finally Ryosuke watches as the red lights on the seat-belt signs go off, the captain started speaking, and watching most of the people take of their seatbelts, Ryosuke figured they’re on a stable altitude and speed – the long flight starts now.

He looked outside, hoping there’s something to see, but he couldn’t help but just curse on his head as the view gave him nothing but dark clouds. Oh well, he was stupid to expect something different anyways. To be honest, it’s like there’s a cloud machine outside – everything foggy and well… plain.
Since he couldn’t really use his phone to call Chinen, Keito and Yuto who are pretty damn far away from him, Ryosuke figured he’d just watch some movie – maybe there’ll be a miracle. Any Japanese movie would really make him happy.

He managed to memorize how to navigate the movie screen, what with watching Keito do so on their flight while they were on their way to Vancouver just about a week ago. He settled on a movie, an anime one, but he can’t help but feel depressed hearing it’s English dubbed. Praying for subtitles, he saw that there’s Japanese, and a bright smile was on his face right away.

Carried away a bit, he looked at his seatmate to see if she’s noticed him fuzz by himself. She might think he’s a weirdo, or an otaku – but this movie’s Arietty, so she shouldn’t really deduce anything bad on him with this. Upon looking at her, he noticed that he’s already taken off her jacket, and that she’s wearing a plain black shirt with a familiar silhouette printed in white as its only design. Ryosuke can recognize that mouse anywhere – yep, she’s wearing a mickey mouse shirt. She already has her heaphones on and was reading her book.

Ryosuke felt his cheek burn as he was staring already, and the girl looked at him. He watched as she tried not to laugh, a smile escaped from her and Ryosuke bowed indirectly and looked away. She went back to her book and Ryosuke can feel his heart palpitating. ‘What an idiot…’ He told himself, trying to pay attention to the movie.

Two hours in, the movie done, and it seems that everyone else have managed to settle well. He can hear a little fuss and realized that the attendants were coming with their carts  - it’s the first meal for this long flight. Seeing the attendant on their side reach just a couple more columns ahead of them, Ryosuke can feel his nervousness creeping up again. She’s definitely a foreigner, her hair blond, her height tall enough to make him look down on his own little self – in short, this is gonna be tough. He’ll manage ‘chicken, pork, beef, fish’ but the rest, side dishes, drinks… thinking about it makes him clammy.

Soon enough, with his words taking much of his supposed ‘preparation time’, the attendant was already on their side, and she smiled, “We have beef or chicken, which one will you guys have?” She sounds really nice, and gentle, and kind but Ryosuke can only hold his breath. He waited for his seatmate to answer.

“I’ll have chicken please…” She said casually, and the attendant laid her meal on her table.

“You sir?” She asked. It seems Ryosuke’s been spacing out.

“A…ah… Chi…Chicken…” He managed, pointing a little at his seatmate’s meal.

The attendant nodded and gave him his meal and that was done. Upon seeing his meal, he congratulated himself once again, nodding as he was about to eat. His seatmate was looking at him but he didn’t really notice.

She smiled watching this young man looking rather relieved. To be honest, she found him really cute from the very moment she saw him – and now he looks even cuter, and more adorable. He’s like a little kid lost. Why she thought like that, she’s not so sure.

Eventually another cart comes in asking them what they want for drinks, and Ryosuke managed to say tea, while his seatmate asked for some water.
Upon looking at his cup, Ryosuke felt really defeated. He poked himself discreetly, “Ryosuke baka! Iced tea, desu yo! Iced tea! Ocha-ja-nai-yo! ICED TEA!” He didn’t notice he was really mumbling this a little louder – his seatmate looked at him curiously upon hearing him talk.

He moped a little bit more as he finishes his food. A flight attendant checked on them asking if they need anything else and Ryosuke just looked at her, a hint of sadness in his smile as he watches as his seatmate seemed to have something she wants. “Two iced teas please.” She smiled, and the attendant gave her two cups, Ryosuke’s seatmate thanked her and the attendant was on her way.

Ryosuke looked at his seatmate, he blinked a bit as she offers him one cup. “Hai. This is what you really wanted to ask for, right?” She spoke, in Japanese – Ryosuke blinked a couple more times; it’s like he couldn’t really believe it. “What’s up?” She asked – she’s really speaking Japanese.

“A…Ah… um… You’re Japanese?” he asked; still a little hesitant to speak in his own language – as if he’s not sure she’ll understand him.

She smiled, it was brighter than the ones before as she insists he takes the cup. “I was wondering if you were one.” She said, “Then I saw you watching Arietty with those subs.” Her accent has a little hint of English in them, more like Keito when he first met him.

Relief washed over him and Ryosuke let out a good sigh – it felt light, “Yokatta…” He finally said and the girl laughed. “Sorry… it’s just that…” he felt embarrassed all of a sudden – but there’s this aura of her that tells him she won’t really care whatever he says, “It’s just that…. I’m a total idiot when it comes to speaking English…”

She waved a hand over her face – more and more, she’s looking more Japanese to him. “Oh. We all have our moments.”

“No really… I can barely speak and understand it.”

“Psh…” She rolled her eyes and this time Ryosuke laughed – he can’t believe how carefree he feels all of a sudden. “So you’re travelling by yourself?”

He then realized that maybe, since she’s Japanese, she might know him…. But upon hearing this question, it’s pretty clear she doesn’t. “Ah… no. But my friends and I got separated. They’re sitting quite far back…” he said pointing behind him.

“Well that .” She said and he nodded. So she really doesn’t know him. “You guys had a little vacation at Vancouver?” she then asked, taking a little sip from her iced tea.

“Ah… well. Sort of…” Ryosuke answered. He can’t really tell her he was there for work, and that he’s a Japanese idol and so and so. It’s like, he wants to keep her not knowing things. It’s rare for him to get to talk to a person that doesn’t really know him as JE’s Yamada Ryosuke. He likes the feeling of being erm… normal in the eyes of someone else. And as if he’s just feeling more and more likely talking, “How about you, on a trip as well?”

“Oh well…” She held onto her cup, “I’m just going to visit my dad.” She smiled, watching him frown – he looks curious enough so she went on, “Well, my mom and I live in Winnipeg, but my dad works and lives in Yokohama. I visit him every once in a while.”

“Uwi..wi...nnipegu…” he struggled to pronounce it but she just laughed at him.

“It’s a city in Manitoba. Oh what the heck, Canada has a number provinces, you don’t have to worry yourself over it.” Ryosuke just nodded and she just laughed, “Sorry, I sometimes get carried away talking. I haven’t talked in Japanese in a while…”

“Well you still sound pretty good.” Ryosuke complimented – he thought she deserves it anyway.

“Really?” She beamed, “You’re not kidding?” she looked really happy to have heard this.

Then Ryosuke felt like teasing her a bit, “Well, your ‘desu’ sounds a little slang…”

“Eeeeh?” She complained and soon they were laughing and talking about Japanese and English accent in the mix.

A few more talks and soon, “I mean, it’s pretty hard to pronounce some English names…” Ryosuke uttered as they were talking about foreign words, “Oh right. I’m really sorry, I haven’t really asked what your name is.” He said, bowing a little – he feels stupid forgetting this. “Please don’t tell me you have those foreign names…”

She laughed shaking her head, “It’s not that hard to pronounce. I’m Louise.”

“Ru….i…su…” Ryosuke uttered, as if practicing by himself but she laughed – clearly she’s heard him. “You’re lying. It’s hard…”

“Well… here…” she said, taking out her iPod touch and opening her sketch application. “RU-I-ZU” she said, as she writes each syllable in hiragana.

“RU-I-ZU” he repeated perfectly and well, Louise (finally she’s got a name) offered him a high five as Ryosuke smiled and took it.

“And you are?” she asked curiously. “I have no problems saying Japanese names, so don’t worry.”

Ryosuke laughed, “I’m Yamada Ryosuke.” He said. He can’t help but watch if hearing his name will create a different expression from Louise but she just pouted a bit as she repeats his name.

“Yamada Ryosuke…” She uttered, “Yamada Ryosuke…” one more and soon Ryosuke can’t help but feel a bit wondering what she’s thinking. “Hmm…” she uttered.

“What’s up? My name doesn’t sound that weird…”

“No. But it sure does sound familiar.” She said, looking at Ryosuke’s face. “Ah… oh well.” Ryosuke doesn’t know why but he felt really relieved as she said this – so she doesn’t really know him.

Their conversations went on, not really realizing how each topic opens up a brand new set of talks – one after the other. Ryosuke suddenly found himself telling her of his frustrations upon his last year of high school while Louise tells him about her hardships in University. They got to this topic when Louise said that she can’t really stay that long in Japan since she has to take some summer courses. “I think I’m glad I’m done…”

Louise nodded. Then again, she feels comfortable enough to be more vulgar, so she said, “Then again, wouldn’t be a little tougher to look for jobs if you’re not going into any college or university… you know, those kind of stuff?” there was a hint of caution in her words – as if she’s not sure if it’s really, really okay to say this.

‘Well. I’m an idol, my life is pretty much up on the stage for a few more decades given that people won’t really grow sick of seeing me….’ He can hear his own head talking, but in reality, he’s just nodding absent-mindedly at Louise.

Feeling worried that she might’ve crossed the line, Louise bowed, “Sorry… Sure you have your own personal plans...” she trailed off, taking as sip of water. Their iced teas are long gone.

“No, it’s okay. You’re right…” Ryosuke followed, realizing he’s been really out of his senses, “But yes. I do have… erm…” he thought of a better way to put it, “stuff that keeps me occupied.” Louise looked a little curious and amazed – if you can imagine those expressions together, “And yes, I get paid.” Ryosuke continued and this made Louise form an ‘O’ with .

“Nice…” she then said, patting his shoulder. This time they turned to money matters, how they actually manage their allowances, how Louise used to have a part-time job, and here goes Ryosuke again trying to figure out how to not really tell her about his real status.

Six hours in flight, they paused for a while as the plane shook harder than usual, and on goes the captan telling them that they’re undergoing some minor turbulence. Passengers were asked to stay on their seats, belts buckled properly, and this made Louise and Ryosuke look at each other – it’s like they’re trying to catch each other’s expression. “Well you don’t look nervous…” Ryosuke uttered, he actually sounded rather cocky but Louise returned it with a smirk.

“I’m no softie. This isn’t my first time on a plane.” She stuck her tongue out a little making Ryosuke laugh more.

The turbulence lasted for a few more minutes, and soon everyone was on relax mode again. “So tell me… you always travel alone?” Ryosuke asked, he craned his neck a little – its been growing stiff since he’s pretty much had his upper body angled towards his side as they talk. He then noticed Louise pulled her feet closer to her chest. She leaned back, as if trying to lie down but not really, and she pulled out her blanket over her shoulder. “You cold?”
She shook her head, more like bopped it – it’s like someone’s pouring cold water on her back, “A litte…” eventually she admitted and Ryosuke instinctively just pulled her blanket closer to her chin as it was falling. Her hands were tucked between her legs so she thanked him for what he did. “…Oh right, me travelling by myself, yep…” she sniffed a little, “My mom’s usually on business trips, our schedules rarely go along.”

Nodding, “It would be nice if all three of your guys can get together, ne?” he smiled, his intention pure.

“Oh. We’re they’re divorced, but yeah that’ll be great.” She had a straight smile – but Ryosuke can tell its not for a façade. It’s more like she’s used to saying this. Actually, the way she said it, it didn’t even make Ryosuke feel bad… not till he realized what she’s really said.

“…oh…” he didn’t know he uttered this, and there was a few seconds of silence.

Soon enough, he was apologizing… seems like the most, natural thing to say and she replied, “Really, I’m not.” She smiled, tapping on his knee as she points at that peeking musical sheet from his tiny bag tucked under the chain in front of him. “You play the piano?” as for every thing they’ve talked about, she asked with just as much curiosity that he kind of got used to easily.

He looked at what she’s pointing and took it out, “Oh… this…” he said, handing it to her, “I’ve been practicing the saxophone.” Nodding, “I haven’t played in a while, so you can say I’m re-learning it.”

“Sou…” she flipped through the pages, “Well, if you’ve played before, it’s impossible for you to forget it… ever…”

“Really…?” he looked at her as if she’s making him believe in some joke and she mocked an angry face, “I’m not really good though. How about you Kichida-san, do you play any instrument?”

She hands him back his sheets, “I can strum a few chords on a guitar, but that’s about it.” She grinned, “I rarely get to play nowadays.” She started rocking her head forward and backward a little – like a kid, to be honest, “Goodluck on your saxophone. I know you’ll get even better.” He looked really shy as he nodded at her and she hits him lightly on the shoulder, “Have little more faith in yourself!”

Eventually, they were talking about hobbies when they were a kid since Ryosuke said he used to play the saxophone for fun, then he joined the school band, and so on.  He then felt a bit chilly himself and he zips up his jacket, and even pulls up his hoodie. “…but really, guitar is just impossible for me.”
Louise laughed and said, “Well, saxophone is impossible for me – so we’re even.” he nodded in agreement and soon Louise couldn’t help but let out a small yawn. “Aaaah…. Three more hours… Or so…” she said, and Ryosuke looked at the timezone clock posted by default on his screen. It shows them a rough idea of where they are at the moment – the world map clear on his screen, and an airplane flying over just a few distance from Japan can be seen. The altitude is shown at the upper right corner, Vancover time just below it, and Tokyo time below that of Vancouver.

“I guess we better get some shut-eye…” Ryosuke suggested, and Louise slowly nodded – she’s actually dozing of as he speak.

“Just wake me up in case you need to ask the attendants for anything.” She winked – Ryosuke seeing a little hint of Chinen in that gesture of hers as he puts a thumbs up and watched her eyes closed. She looks sleepy alright. Perhaps it’s one of those moment wherein you’re so awake one second, then you’re suddenly knocked out the next.

It was when Louise was sleeping that Ryosuke just realized that none of Chinen, Keito or Yuto bothered to walk to him and talk. Oh well, they’re probably sleeping – he’s pretty sure Chinen is, and Keito and Yuto were probably happy with the movie selections… but the thing is, if it wasn’t someone like Louise that’s sitting beside him, what would have those six hours felt like? ‘Probably the worst ones of my entire life…’ he talked back inside his head and this made him look again at his new friend.

Her blanket was slipping again, and Ryosuke saw her shiver a bit. He then pulled the blanket over her, the back of his hand touching her chin. She twitched a little, but was soon back to her humble sleep.

Looking at her, he can’t help but feel a little happy – what are the odds that you’d be sitting next to a person like this one. He boarded this plane expecting a dull and depressing flight, but it seems that wasn’t was prepared for him… well, not really. Of hundreds of passengers, hundreds of seats, he felt a little amazed having been given this ‘wretched’ seat because this is where he met a really good person  - or so he thinks. Sure she’s frank, she’s easily carried away, and she’s straight-forward to a point she makes Inoo and Chinen look good, but Ryosuke felt like he didn’t have to sort his words out while he talks to her.

He never really thought being fond over someone in a short period of time would be possible – but he’s wrong, so it seems. With the right people, at the right time, anything sure is possible.

He didn’t notice that he was soon dozing off as well, his eyes slowly just giving up, and the last thing he saw was her sleeping face next to his.

“….mada-san… Yamada-san…” he felt a light tap on his shoulder, and soon someone was shaking him. He opened his eyes to see Louise’s pretty big round eyes staring at him. She waved a hand over his face and when he blinked, he saw her bright smile. “Meal’s here…” she said. Well, they’ve had a little talk a while back regarding which is lunch, dinner and snack, since the time zone becomes all messed up anyways.  Dinner in Vancouver is already breakfast in Tokyo. Then again, this is their second set of meals, their last one for this entire flight.

Ryosuke got a peek at the time, it seems the flight’s over in about two more hours. “…Sorry…” he uttered as he sat back up, stretching his neck a little. He frowned seeing a tiny pillow tucked between his neck and shoulder on his left side.

“You looked like you’re gonna break your neck.” Louise explained, expecting him to ask. So this is her pillow and she let him borrow it, he hands it back to her but she says he can keep it for a while more since he looks like he still needs it. It’s true, he felt better with it on him.
The attendant asks them for their choice, this time its fish versus pork and Ryosuke asked for pork while Louise asked for fish. While eating, they even exchange a few slices to each other because they were debating which one’s better. The dessert was yoghurt, and Louise whined like a kid upon opening hers, “What’s up?” Ryosuke asked and waited as she shows him her frustration.

“Strawberry…”

His eyes widened, “I’ll kill for strawberries…” He sounded serious, “You don’t like it?” he asked, with a really surprised tone. He hasn’t really met anyone in his life that doesn’t like strawberries – this sounds so absurd to him. It’s like breaking the invisible law of strawberries – LOL, whut? Haha!
She then pushes the tiny cup to him which Ryosuke took right away, “Things you’ll like, but I never will.”

He then hands her his yoghurt, “Trade. I think this one’s vanilla.”

“I LOVE VANILLA YOGHURT!” her sullen mood was quickly lifted and they both looked satisfied as they feat on their desserts. “YAAAAAAY….” Really, more and more, she’s like Yuto but not really – like Chinen, but not really. It’s hard to say what kind of person he’ll categorize her as.  Then again, with her sarcasm, straightforwardness and sometimes randomness, Ryosuke thought she’s more like Chinen than Yuto. If chinen would have a female counterpart, she might be the one.

“Because I’m curious and feeling defensive over one of the things I love most in the world, why do you not like strawberries?” he asked as Louise diligently takes every last bit of her yoghurt with her spoon.

She bit on her spoon as she thinks of a good comeback – then like a eureka moment, “Erm…. It’s sour.”

“IT’S SOUR!?” He looked really, as in, really shocked. What’s she talking about? “You clearly haven’t tasted the best strawberries in the world.”

“Probably would never be able to.” She looked contented – actually, there’s a smug on her face Ryosuke felt the need to pinch her nose really hard she’ll cry.

“Buy some when we get to Tokyo, I swear it’ll change your perspective…”

“Aaaah… but I’m fine with not really liking it.”

“But I’m not.” He pointed at her, “I dare you to eat strawberries when we get to Japan.”

She raised her eyebrows, “NO.” her answer was firm.

“If you still find them sour and not end up liking them, I’ll do anything you ask me to.”

Now this becomes a bit interesting, “Eh…? What if I ask you you can’t eat strawberries for a month.”

Immediately, Ryosuke’s face turned really sad. “…Well…” he took a deep breath then stared at her, determination in his eyes, “But if you end up liking it, you’re gonna have to keep eating strawberries for the whole year.”

She decided it’s a deal and they even shook hands. Oh well, of course if you look at it, this is whole ‘dare’ thing is ridiculous. What are the chances that they’d even see each other after they get off this plane? How would he know she really tried to eat some strawberries? Will she really admit into liking them if ever she does like them? But really, this kept them entertained as Ryosuke went on about his great love for his dear fruit.

Time became cruelly fast  - or so this is what they both thought when the announcements for landing echoes – Louise translating briefly whatever the captain says.

As they buckled on their seats, Ryosuke did his usual routine of try to fight of the pressure whenever its landing time. He looked to Louise and it seems she knows this technique as well, and they just teased each other a little, telling the other how silly they look – with their jaws tight, their mouths half opened.
The landing wasn’t really as smooth as Ryosuke hoped it’d be – in fact it was a little too bumpy that it made most passengers yelp out a little, and even Louise felt the need to grab onto her seat, but she grabbed onto Ryosuke’s forearm instead. He didn’t mind though – it was really something seemingly acceptable to him.

With the captain apologizing for that not so excellent land, passengers started to loosen up. A few more drives, Ryosuke can tell that the plane’s pretty much settled in – like a ship properly docked. As the entire thing comes to a complete stop, the seat belt lights were off and passengers started standing, taking out some luggages kept on the upper cabinets, Louise not really moving in her seat yet.

Ryosuke waited a bit more, and soon she was fumbling for her phone – turning it on, she looked at him and smiled, “Welcome back to Japan.” She said as she puts up a peace sign.

“I should say that.” Ryosuke uttered, and soon, he took out his phone as well, flipped it open, and boom – there goes his normal line up and running right away. Lots of texts from Keito, Yuto and Chinen already. It seems they’re stuck back there a bit. Ryosuke sure took forever before he his phone. “Oh right…” he uttered, not really sure why, but he just raised his phone, “Kichida-san…” called out to her, and the moment she looked up at him, he said, “hai chi-zu” and as if she’s pretty good with her reflexes, she raises her peace sign and smile as he takes her picture.

Ryosuke smiled seeing the shot he took and showed it to her, “Aaah…. I look horrible.” But surely, she didn’t sound like she felt bad about it, “Oh what the heck, there’s no use sulking over it…”

“You talk as if you’re ugly.” He said, shoving near her face his phone, “You’re not… okay?”

She raised her brows, “I won’t take that kind of follow from a really pretty, pretty, pretty guy like you.”

He felt his ears burn as he heard this but she just stuck out her tongue. She grinned as finally, the doors were open and passengers line up on the aisles, baggage and little bags in hand as they start to exit the plane.

The moment Louise stood up, Ryosuke did so too, and as they were looking for a window to join in the line on the aisle, Ryosuke felt a little thug on his chest – this is probably the last time he and her can be together like this. The moment he steps out of this plane, he’s back to being Yamada Ryosuke… Hey! Say! JUMP and NYC member, one of the most well-known Johnny’s Entertainment Talent of this generation – it’s impossible for him to even talk to her outside, even while waiting for the baggage. Paparazzis are surely all over the place, and he wouldn’t really risk having her bothered in any kind of way.
It seems like Louise and Ryosuke waited for the line to go even shorter, soon enough Keito, Yuto and Chinen were passing by and Chinen made way for Louise to enter the line. She thanked him, and Ryosuke followed, Chinen letting Ryosuke walk in front of him and behind Louise.

As they were nearing the door, Ryosuke tapped on her shoulder from behind – she turned her head a little, letting him know she’s listening. “Don’t forget about the bet, okay?” he said and he heard her chuckle. “No really, the moment you get a chance, try some. You’ll be eating it for an entire year.”

“Heh… what makes you so sure I’ll really like it and you’ll win, huh?” She elbowed on his stomach lightly and Ryosuke hit her slightly on the head. “Ow…” she uttered.

“No really… that’s a promise, ‘kay?” This was Ryosuke’s last words as Louise was about to step out of the plane now.

She looked back at him, that smile of hers as sweet as the first time he’s seen it, “Alright then. It’s a promise.” She waved her hand as she kept walking away from him – her head not looking back.

Ryosuke, Chinen, Keito, and Yuto stepped out of the plane and walked the usual route to where they can get the rest of their luggage, fans seemingly waiting – they seem to know they’re coming back today. There weren’t a crazy number of them, but Ryosuke know for a fact that he really is back in Japan. As they walk, there were the familiar discreet looks from other people. He just saw one paparazzi a few feet away – nothing new. Back to his usual life…. And yes, that last smile and wave from Louise – that’s probably the last time he’ll ever see her again.

xXxXx

It’s been a week since Louise arrived and her father was just ecstatic to have her visit. They’ve been to Disneyland twice already, and they’re usually eating out. It’s a Wednesday, and her dad had to go to work suddenly – Louise was left at their house. Really, it’s a nice day to just roam around the house and relax. The weather sure is nice here in Japan. Winnipeg summer can get extremely suffocating.

She took something out of the fridge, a bowl so it seems, and brought it over the living room as she the TV and went over some random channels.
Munching, she couldn’t help but stare as he stopped switching channels upon seeing a familiar face on the screen. It wasn’t really too much of a shock for her – now it makes sense why his name is familiar. There on the screen, with his nice looking white erm… formal suits, with black accents, there’s that guy that used to sit next to her on that flight a week ago.

“So tell us guys… how was the trip?” Nakajima Kento asked – he and Kikuchi Fuma (and the rest of y Zone are this week’s guest) serves as this section’s MC.

“Ahhh… it was pretty interesting this time around, to be really honest.” Ryosuke answereed since he can tell most of the members want him to talk first.

“Ah… brought lots of souveneir perhaps?”

“Yeah….”

“How is it dealing with the foreigners?” Fuma asked. Oh well, it’s not like they’ve never been asked these questions before.

It was Hikaru and Inoo who first shared their little experiences, and Chinen was the one who said that Yama-chan actually gets to be separated to them  - but Chinen didn’t really specify on any details. He just said that Yama-chan was on his own for some time.

“Ah…. How was it Yama-chan? I would really be hopeless if that were me…” Kento, being the witty MC he is, asked and the fans sounded really interested.

“Maa… I’m lucky enough to have met a really nice person and that person helped me so it wasn’t really that hard. I was scared, but yeah. I got help from a really nice person…” The fans were screaming as Kento and the rest of JUMP teased Yama-chan, telling him that he’s probably talking about a girl, but Yama-chan just laughed it off – he didn’t really deny it either.

The usual segment with Fans sending letters to the Shounen Club goes on, and this time, the fan asked what’s the most recent thing the members of JUMP has eaten. “Oh, you guys can talk about foreign delicacies if you’d like…” Fuma added as he finishes the letter.

All of JUMP gets to answer, most of them really brief, Hikaru not failing to make a little joke, Inoo creating his usual puns, Chinen straight to the point as ever, Yuto talking about a rare food he tried tried, Takaki and Yabu talking about the same food they found really interesting, Daiki and Keito with their litte bonding moments over Pizza, and soon it was Ryosuke’s turn. “…ah… I really liked the plane’s yoghurt.” He said, and Yuto, Keito and Chinen backed  him up saying it was really good. “Come to think of it, that’s the last strawberry I’ve had in a long time…” his additional statement wasn’t really necessary, but fans reacted to this since they all know their little ichigo-prince.

“Uwaaaah… Overseas has made a little change in our Yama-chan’s taste buds…” really, it’s genius how Daiki gets to help Kento and Fuma with the MC part, and all of them can turn the conversation into one great interesting flow.

They kept talking a few more and soon the rest of JUMP were asked to stand by – and Louise can only hold onto what she’s eating as she watches them perform. Yamada Ryosuke, yep that same Yamada Ryosuke she joked and laughed with, there on the center, singing and dancing – he looks like he’s a totally impossible person to even just meet, let alone talk to for hours.

As they ended their performance, Louise can’t help but notice that she can’t really let go of her smile. She can hear yama-chan talking about that yoghurt, and how he’s not really eating strawberries still. She then bite onto that thing she’s been munching on – the sweet scent of strawberry filled her senses. He’s right. She smiled as Ryouske bowed and the rest of JUMP did so as well – the camera focused again on Ryosuke. “It is sweet…” Louise uttered, and she just smiled.

xXxXx

“Oi yoghurt boy, let’s go…” Daiki yelled as he grinned and went towards the van. It’s been JUMP’s little inside joke lately. After that live show on Shounen club, JUMP managed to squeeze some info from Ryosuke as they were getting their change of clothes. And now he’s yoghurt boy.

Ryosuke and Chinen were the only ones left in their dressing room, with Chinen just standing there waiting for him. Ryosuke only has to unplug his phone and he’s good to go. He flipped his phone open, he can’t help but smile as he browses through his pictures and he showed that certain shot to Chinen. “It’d be best not to let them see her face.” Chinen answered, but his tone was pretty erm… secretive in a not so bad way. It almost sounds like he’s telling him to keep something valuable away. “Yuto will surely say she’s cute.”

Ryosuke chuckled, “She said she looked ugly when I showed her this.”

Chinen rolled his eyes, “Well, sometimes people like us deny that we’re pretty.” This made Ryosuke laugh, “You did say she’s like the female version of me, correct?”

Ryosuke shoved his phone inside his pocket, “I’m gonna have to keep her away from you as well too…”

“Oh, oh… stop being so overprotective! You don’t even know if you’ll see her again…” Chinen patted on his friend’s shoulder, “…kidding…” he knew well Ryosuke’s pretty serious this time.

“Who knows…” Ryosuke replied, smiling at Chinen. But really, he’s hoping one day he will get to have that little slip of fate – a little chance so that he can see her again.

End.
