SM Entertainment's upcoming female idol group, DiVA, had finally revealed their first member last night, May 8, 2012.

Meet Hwiyeon, 17, the newest addition to SM's huge family of talented artists. Being the first and the only member of SM originated from North Korea so far, it is truly relieving to know that the big amount of hard works she had done paid off well as she is finally able to reach her dreams in South Korea.

"We hesitated to accept her audition at first because of her nationality, but once she started singing, every single doubt was thrown out the window." DiVA's personal mentor, Kangta, stated as quoted by BNT News. "This is our way to prove that SM Entertainment chooses talents over mere nationality or the likes."

Furthermore, SNSD's Tiffany, Hwiyeon's fellow SM Artist and senior, added, "She is really a sweet heart, and a true hard-worker! I often see her practicing her dancing alone in the studio until late at night. It's heart-breaking to see but those were the moments when I know she will do amazing."
