Chapter 4 - Collar Controlled
Forbidden Love
Seven boys arrived at their quarters, swooping in through the window. The sun was coming up.
It didn’t affect them too much, but rules were rules. And they had to obey them. Only allowed to roam from 12 midnight to 6am. After that, they had to report back to quarters.
Or else, they would be punished.
6 of them took off the black collars around their neck. Only one didn’t have the key.
“You’re so lucky.” He grumbled.
“Why, Jaeseop? Just because you haven’t found the girl that has yours?” Eli mocked.
“It’s not exactly all that great, having a key, you know. There’s a chance that they’ll find out.” Soohyun said.
“But at least you could be freed of it when you want to. It itches.” AJ tugged at the electronic collar tight around his neck. There was hardly any space between it and his skin.
But that’s the way they liked it.
“I hate how they control us.” AJ whined.
And all the others groaned, “There’s nothing we can do about that. Everyone in society is happy. I haven’t seen one person disobey the rules. Without their help, rebelling is futile.” Kiseop reminded him again.
It wasn’t the first time AJ spoke of rebelling.
“Whatever. I’m going to lie here.” AJ said, throwing himself onto the cot they were provided.
AJ grew lost in his own thoughts, unable to hear anything else his brothers said.
“Do you think we should tell him?” Eli whispered to Kiseop.
“I don’t know, I don’t think he should know before it happens.” Kiseop answered hesitantly.
“I agree. Besides, the girl would have to decide for herself to give him the key or not. Just like how all the others did.” Kevin cut in.
“They gave in to us though, and all of them already knew.” Dongho entered the conversation.
“Well, it’s not like he hasn’t heard the story before. He just refuses to believe it.” Hoon answered, being the one who told AJ the story every time.
“Then, how does he think we get our keys? There’s a reason why they’re shaped like an Omega sign.” Eli pointed out.
Soohyun refused to join in. He knew everything already. Why AJ didn’t believe, why they wanted them, why AJ wanted to rebel all the time. If anyone knew everything about their brothers, that person would be Soohyun.
“He doesn’t think she exists for him.” Hoon simply answered. “You know how many years it took for you to find your key.” Hoon said pointedly at Eli.
Eli was the most recent to earn his key. It was given to him by a girl that he continued to watch over.
Someone of this age. Omega Tia.
“So? I’m sure there is a girl this age for him.” Eli mumbled.
“He doesn’t believe that. Besides, what’s the point in him getting the key if he can’t be freed completely?” Hoon said, knowing AJ’s full thoughts on the keys.
“What about that girl we’ve been hearing about?” Kevin asked.
“What girl?” Dongho wondered, not knowing what Kevin meant, being the youngest. Control was something that was learned over time, and at nights, he lost it. Unable to comprehend what happened during those six hours.
“That rebellious girl. I’m sure she could help us.” Kevin said, as all of them remembered her, she had almost missed curfew one night and they saw her.
The girl with the short blonde hair but hiding long brown hair underneath.
“She doesn’t have a key though. I would have seen it. She doesn’t wear anything around her neck.” Eli said sadly.
“You don’t know that. Omegas learn to hide things really well, it’s in their blood.” Kiseop said, with a tone that had finality in it, ending the conversation.
