Chapter 1

Rollercoasters

 "...No."

"But ummaaaaaaa..."

"No! I'm not going on that...that death trap!"

"This is the last ride, hyung. Come on!"

"NO!"

And that's how Key ended up sitting on the rollercoaster chair.

If it wasn't for his son's annoying yet irresistible aegyo and the frog's stupid blackmails he wouldn't be here right now. He shouldn't have accompanied the boys on their date, but hey, what if Minho did something to his son? Key shook his head. Curse his dirty mind.

Key watched as Minho was comforting Taemin with his reassuring words. They sat in front of him while the diva was in the back. Stupid couple showing off their love for one another. Key didn't have anyone like that. He secretly wished for a relationship but there was no one good enough for him. Most of the girls he met were just too whiny, and some of the boys he knew were plain douchebags.

"Ride starting in five minutes!" the ride operator called out. Key stiffened. He hated rollercoasters. Number one, it will mess up his hair. Number two, he hated vomit. Number three, he had a deathly fear of heights.

"Get me out of here!" Key whispered to the 2Min couple, who just laughed.

"It might be fun, umma!" Taemin replied, flashing a bright smile.

"My Taeminnie is never wrong," Minho said. "And besides," Minho's expression darkened. "I know your secrets."

"You win!" Key grumbled before he slumped onto his seat, giving up. 'I'm going to die! I'm never going to graduate high school, get married, have kids, and die in my sleep! I'm going to get splattered on the floor when the loop comes! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to--'

Key's thoughts were interrupted when he felt the seat belts that almost restrained him from falling out of the ride was lifted up. Key turned and felt his jaws drop to the floor. What was in his sight was a drop-dead gorgeous man wearing a plaid t-shirt and dark jeans. His hair was in three shades of blond. He had chocolate brown puppy-dog eyes above those highly-defined cheek bones. The only flaw is that Key was slightly taller than him, but the diva simply didn't care. The man in front of him was perfect.

'Did the heavens answer my prayers?' Key thought as he dramatically looked up at the sky.

"Excuse me?" a voice said. Key turned and blushed when his feline eyes stared into puppy-dog ones. He was talking to him

"Y-yes?" Key stuttered. His hopes were raised significantly. Was the gorgeous man in front of him going to ask him out?

"Is this yours?" the man said, his hand holding cherry-flavored lip gloss.

Key then felt the familiar feelings of embarrassment and sorrow push his hopes out of the way, never going to be returned. "O-oh. It must've fell out of my pocket. T-thanks!" Key replied. As he attempted to snatch the lip gloss away from the man's hands, an audible gasp escaped his lips. Key's nimble fingers had touched with the man's fingers, creating physical contact. The flustered Key pulled away immediately when he felt an electrical jolt, taking the lip gloss along with him. For once, he knew it wasn't the static force.

"Starting the ride in two minutes!" the ride operator called out once again. Key felt his breath hitch. It was going to come soon and hit him straight in the face.

"Is this your first time on this ride?" the man asked, earning Key's attention. When Key raised his eyebrow, the man said, "Oh sorry, I'm talking to you."

Key felt the blush returning back to his face. "First time."

"It's my second time here. First time was with a friend of mine. This time I want to try it alone," the man said, smiling.

'Omona, so handsome!', Key thought. He swore that he was going to drool anytime soon.

"I'm sure you have been to other rollercoaster rides before," the man said. For the first time since Key has laid his eyes on the man, he frowned.

"Nope," Key replied. "I-I'm not a big fan of rides, especially rollercoasters. The only reason why I'm here was because...well let's just say, my friends convinced me to." Key then glared at Taemin and Minho, who were too busy talking about other things such as food and how much they looked like animals.

"I think you'll make a great wolf, hyung!"

"Me? Wolf? Then you should be a lamb!"

"Eh? Lamb? Wae?"

A smirk plastered onto Minho's face. "Because the wolf always eats the lamb."

This time a pout from Taemin. "You're going to eat me?"

'Choi Minho, when we go back home I swear I will KILL you for trying to corrupt my son's mind,' Key thought as he made a low growl of disapproval.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry," the man said. "I didn't know."

"Eh, it's alright," Key said. "We just met anyways."

"We are starting the ride in fifteen seconds! Please hold on to your seatbelts and be secure at all times! But make sure to have fun!"

'Have fun?! I'm going to get killed and all you're telling me is to have fun?!'

"The ride is starting in 3..."

Key clutched tightly on to the metal bars.

"2..."

He then shut his eyes, reciting a prayer.

"1..."

And here starts torture.

The ride started off slowly, but Key was screaming in the inside, muttering his 'last words'. The next thing he knew the ride was going uphill, and Key was now screaming his head off in public.

"GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! I NEED MY TICKET BACK!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Key screamed out as he shook, looking in every direction. That only made things even dizzier. Key then felt his head spin. Now he didn't care if his hair will stick out everywhere or if his makeup would run. He was going to get splattered anyway. 'Oh well, at least I lived a good life and met the man of my dreams'.

Then, he felt a warm hand grasp on his own. Key opened his eyes and looked over at the man. The cheerful look on his eyes changed into an ambitious man, and this only made Key fall harder and harder. "W-what...?"

"Don't worry," the man said, flashing a smile at Key. "You will live, because I will protect you. Arasso?"

Key widened his eyes, which was b with tears. Those were the most nicest words he have ever heard that was directed to him, even if it was only expressed in a few words. Key sniffed and nodded before he felt a rush. They were going down.

Screams filled everyone's ears, and surprisingly, none of them came from Key. Sure, a few shrieks escaped from his lips here and there, but it wasn't that major. He survived every rush and loop, all because of that warm, protective feeling from the hand that swore he would live. And live he did.

After the ride, everyone scrambled out. Some were hungry, while others were looking for more rides. But for Key and his two friends, they had to go back home. Key let out a sad sigh. He missed that warm feeling, even if it only lasted for a while.

"Wait!" a familiar voice called out. Key perked up and whipped his head to see the man approaching him. "I-I never got your name!"

Surprised yet happy, Key felt the corners of his lips twitch into a smile. "I'm Kim Kibum, but call me Key."

The man laughed. "I like that name. Key!"

Key couldn't help but giggle. "Catchy isn't it? What's your name?"

"I'm Kim Jonghyun," Jonghyun said. "It was really nice to meet you."

"Yeah," Key said. "That ride was enjoyable, all thanks to you."

Jonghyun chuckled. Key felt his heart racking against his chest. His stomach tingled with a fuzzy feeling, and he liked it.

"Key-hyung!"

Key snapped out of his senses and turned around to see Minho and Taemin holding hands, their fingers intertwined. Key smiled and once again turned back to Jonghyun. "Look's like I gotta go."

"Wait," Jonghyun said. "Before you go..." Key cocked his head as Jonghyun took out a piece of paper and pen from his pocket and began jotting down something. When he finished, Jonghyun put away the pen and gave the paper to Key. Key grabbed it and was glad with the outcome; it was Jonghyun's phone number. "Call me anytime okay? We can go back here and ride that rollercoaster again, if you want!"

"Anytime!" Key answered. They both stared at each other for a moment before parting ways. As Key made his way back to the 2Min Couple, he couldn't help but smile.

Who knew that one of his worst enemies would actually bring him the 'one'?
