When He Wants to Get You Back 

-Part 2-

“Are you going to just leave like this ?” he asked you. “Yeah, my friend is waiting for me..I’m late already,” you replied him innocently without even looking him at the eye while you’re focusing on putting on the wedges.

“No, I mean us, are you just going to just leave like this ?” Sunggyu questioned you again. You paused. Biting your lower lips, you turned your head back at him. “I told you I don’t want to talk, Kim Sunggyu,” you sternly told him again. “Just..just stop avoiding me, please,” pleaded Sunggyu.

“I need to go,” you despised Sunggyu’s question and tried to open the door to leave but Sunggyu stopped you by grabbing your hand. You tried to shrug it off, but Sunggyu’s too strong for you. “Let me go, Kim Sunggyu,” you told him gruffly. “I need to talk with you, and you need to listen to me,” Sunggyu said. “Fine..what do you want to say to me?” you gave up.

“I’m so sorry I slapped you that day, I was too overboard…I promise I will never ever do that in the future,” you groaned as you heard Sunggyu bring up that day’s incident. “First, it isn’t just about the slap,” you replied him coldly. “And ‘future’ ? Ugh..Kim Sunggyu, you’re talking as if we would have ‘future’,” Sunggyu’s face darkened when you uttered those words.

“It’s about how that slap kinda make me realized that I don’t even know if I can be with you again or not….this whole sharing-your-idol-boyfriend life seriously will eat me alive and I don’t know if I can handle this or not,” you added again, bold and fierce enough to shoot Sunggyu right at the chest as you literally told him that you’re having trouble with his idol life.

“I’m sorry it’s so hard to love me..,” Sunggyu’s tongue got stiffened while those words came out from your mouth starts punching him in the stomach. It made him realized that afterall he’s the one who should take all the blame. “I’m sorry I dragged you to this whole situation…I-I--,” Sunggyu  couldn’t even find any right words to say anymore. You then gently pushed Sunggyu’s hand off of yours. “I need to make up my mind first, Sunggyu,” your tone got softened all of a sudden seeing Sunggyu’s face. “F-fine…j-just take your time,”

“Don’t forget to take the aspirin and wash a little before going back to your dorm, you don’t want your brothers seeing you like this, right,” you urged Sunggyu to not forgetting the aspirin to help him with the hangover from last night before leaving.

Days later, as Infinite started busy preparing for their comeback, Sunggyu decided to just back off and let you decide what’s best for you guys’ relationship. He’s painfully aware that keep dragging you to his whole idol life isn’t a good idea anymore. All he could give to you were just pain. He hated it when you’re hurting. But he hated himself even more if the reason of you hurting is none other than he himself.

 He didn’t even dare to call nor message you. He believed that once you make up your mind, you’d tell him what’s your decision. As much as he missed your voice, as much as he missed you cheering him up before going up to the stage, Sunggyu just couldn’t do anything about that.

“Hyung, let’s go,” Hoya snapped Sunggyu back to his thoughts and hurried him to walk to the stage. This is their last stage at ‘The Mission’ showcase at Seoul. He remembered he gave you the ticket to this showcase, but he knew that maybe you wouldn’t come.  “Himnaera, hyung,” Woohyun tapped Sunggyu’s shoulder for one last time before they’re going up to the stage. Sunggyu just nodded his head a little and forced a weak smile at his face.

“Himnaera, Sunggyu,” Sunggyu’s heart skipped a beat when he heard a very familiar voice calling out his name. ‘This can’t be happening’ Sunggyu silently thought as he turned his head back to confirm who’s the owner of the voice.

Sunggyu’s jaw mentally dropped when he saw you standing right behind his back, throwing a smile. A smile he’s been longing for so long. “H-how---,” Sunggyu had a trouble managing those words stucked at his tongue to come out. He still didn’t believe his own eyes. “I made up my mind,” you told him. “I choose to stay,” Sunggyu felt something fluttering at his stomach hearing you uttered those four words. He didn’t even know how he should feel now. He should be happy, right ? ‘I should be happy, right ?’ Sunggyu questioned himself.

“Hurry up boys, we’re live in 60seconds,” a staff shouted from the back. Sunggyu couldn’t help but told you to wait at the waiting room before he’s leaving to the stage. “Would you mind waiting for me, we’ll definitely talk about this after the showcase ends,” Sunggyu firmly told you.

Two hours later…

You heard a faint knock at the door before it’s cracking open. It’s Sunggyu. He looked all tired and sweaty at the same time as he just finished the showcase. “I’m sorry..it took longer than I expected,” Sunggyu said lowly as he carefully locked the door to make sure that no one would barge into the room. “Nah, I’m fine,” you replied him.

“So..,” Sunggyu tried to step into the subject you guys were about to talk. “Are you sure ?” Sunggyu asked. Not explicitly saying ‘Are you sure you want to get back with me after all of this’ but he knew you’d understand after all. “I—I don’t know…but all I know is that I can’t be without you,” you silently told him. “I’m still in love with you and I couldn’t run from that..Every single thing that I do reminded me of you..Everything around me would always trace me back to you. I’m dying without you. Even if I tried to hate you, acting all ice and cold, I’m screaming inside. I—I love you,”

“I love you even more, but after all I did to you…I don’t think I deserve your love anymore..I—I’m sorry for everything..I’m sorry for making you crying the whole time, I’m sorry for being an idol and makes everything so hard for you…I—I’m sorry I hit you..,” Sunggyu started breaking down as tears started dwelling his eyes. “Just stop apologizing, Gyu. I was wrong too..I mean..I should’ve believed you from the very first,” you ran your fingers to wipe away the tears from his cheeks and held his hand. “I’m sorry for not being a normal guy who’d take you to a normal date or even hold your hand publicly,” Sunggyu just wouldn’t stop apologizing. “That’s okay..I’m—I’m fine for not being able to date normally…You’re the one that I wanted, not the other Sunggyu,” you said.

“Thanks…I promise I’ll be better,” Sunggyu whispered. He then led you into a hug. You curved a smile as you could finally feel him again. It feels extraordinary great to be held by his arms, or even had your head neatly laid around his shoulder. You missed him so much you couldn’t even describe how did you feel that time. “So is it okay to baby you again now ?” Sunggyu asked you innocently. “Haha..sure, baby me all you want, Grandpa,” you replied. “Is it okay if this old grandpa wants to sleep beside his little baby tonight,” Sunggyu asked you again as you broke the hug. “Well…, only if you wash yourself first, you smell all sweaty and greasy now,” you playfully told him and stole a quick kiss.

“Oh really ? But you love my sweaty-self, right ?” Sunggyu teased you out and started moving closer and closer to you. He placed his hands at your waist and leaned his face to yours. “I never said that!” you tried to dodge his face. But it’s kinda late when seconds later all you could feel was Sunggyu’s lips pressed to yours. You closed your eyes as the sensation started electrifying your whole body. You automatically ran your hands to Sunggyu’s back and kissed him back. “Oh I miss your lips so much,” Sunggyu mumbled unclearly behind his kiss. “Mmm,” you just moaned agreeingly to what he said. “I love you,”mumbled Sunggyu again.
