Jessica was walking around her local library as she did every week looking for something to read. Usually she would come with her younger sister Yoona but their relationship towards each other hasn’t been that great nowadays… Jessica spotted a familiar person, with their back towards her, reading a book.

“Guess who!” Jessica playfully put her hands over Heechul’s eyes

“The only girl with man hands I assume?” Heechul teased

“YA!” she whacked his head

“I was joking!” Heechul laughed

“I hate you…,” Jessica pouted, “What are you doing here at the library? Since when do you read?”

“I could ask you the same thing…” Heechul looked at her

“I always come here!”

“Alone?”

“No I usually come with Yoona but… we haven’t been that close lately…” Jessica confessed

A couple walked past.

“Oppa wait here, I’m going to go ask the librarian for a book…” the girl kissed her boyfriend

“Hurry back!” the boy playfully patted her as she left

“Look who it is…” Heechul muttered

The boy turned around to look at the books when he saw Jessica and Heechul.

“What are you two doing here?”

“None of your business Donghae-ssi…” Jessica stared at him

“Whatever…” Donghae shrugged before walking away

Jessica stared after him and bit her lip as she felt sadness in her heart.

“Oppa where are you?” the girl came running back

“Right here Yoong,” Donghae kissed Yoona as the two met

“Unnie!” Yoona finally saw her older sister, “um… Donghae and I aren’t-”

“I’m not stupid Yoona, I know you two are together,” Jessica said flatly

Yoona blushed and looked at the ground.

“Let’s go Jessie…” Heechul stood up and held his best friend’s hand

Donghae froze when he saw their hands together. He shouldn’t be jealous, Jessica was no one to him anymore… But at that moment he felt like punching Heechul in the face.

“Oppa what’s wrong?” Yoona asked Donghae

He felt like punching her too… He wanted to get anyone, who was keeping him and Jessica apart, out of the way.

“Oppa?”

“Sorry, nothing is wrong baby. Let’s go too, you already got the book you wanted right?” Donghae shook those thoughts out of his mind and smiled at Yoona.

Donghae looked at Yoona’s relieved face and smiled to himself. How could he have thought of punching this beautiful girl? He was lucky to have her… Heechul felt Jessica’s hand tense up when Donghae was looking to Yoona. All four of them walked out of the library whilst not talking to each other, too lost in their thoughts to do so.

“Do you want me to walk you back home Jessie?” Heechul asked Jessica

“It’s okay,” Jessica declined

Heechul nodded and walked the other direction so that he could get back home, leaving Jessica, Yoona  and Donghae alone.

“Let’s go Yoong…” Donghae pulled her towards the direction that led to his home

“Hey! Where do you think you are taking her?!” Jessica said angrily

“What’s it to you?!” Donghae sneered

“Our grandmother’s birthday dinner is tonight, Yoona has to come back home,” Jessica pulled Yoona’s other hand

“I’m sure Yoona will much rather spending the night with me rather than watching an old bat huff and puff at a candle stuffed into a cake,” Donghae meanly said

“How dare you speak that way of our grandmother?!” Jessica was shocked

Donghae remembered the last time he saw Jessica’s face so shocked. It was when he gave her their couple ring… He couldn’t help but smile widely when he was reminiscing.

“You find it funny?!” Jessica was getting more and more angry

“No! I-I was just…” Donghae was caught off guard

“You’re coming home with me,” Jessica dragged Yoona with her as she glared at Donghae

“I’m sorry unnie…” Yoona apologized on their way home

“What for? Donghae? Hmph, you can have him,” Jessica told her

They had now reached their house.

“The reason he broke up with you unnie is because-”

“You don’t need to tell me. I already know. But I’m not mad at you Yoona,” Jessica walked in the front door

“You aren’t?” Yoona asked her with wide eyes

“It’s destiny for you two to be together. Korea’s number one playboy and Korea’s number one are a couple. How charming,” Jessica said sourly as she went straight to her room, without looking back.

Jessica crawled onto her bed and tried her best not to cry. She felt terrible about calling Yoona a , she wanted to go downstairs and tell her that she didn’t mean it… but she couldn’t. She still has her own pride. She could hear Yoona’s sobs downstairs and she felt even guiltier.

“JUNG SOO YEON, YOU OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW!” Jessica’s only older sister, Taeyeon, knocked harshly on her door

Jessica got up and opened the door.

“WHAT KIND OF SISTER ARE YOU?! HOW DARE YOU CALL YOONG THAT! IS THIS REALLY HOW UMMA TAUGHT YOU TO BE?! SHE LEFT ALL NINE OF US EXPECTING YOU AND ME TO LOOK AFTER OUR DONGSAENGS AS WE ARE THE ELDEST, AND THIS IS HOW YOU LOOK AFTER THEM?! I WARN YOU JUNG SOO YEON, IF I EVER HEAR YOU CALLING YOONG OR ANYONE ELSE THAT AGAIN I WILL KICK YOU OUT OF THIS HOUSE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!” Taeyeon was bubbling with anger

“I understand…” Jessica meekly nodded

“YOU GO DOWNSTAIRS AND APOLOGISE!” Taeyeon yelled loudly

Jessica didn’t even think about arguing, she knows better than to argue with Taeyeon when she is angry. Taeyeon barely ever speaks of their mother but when she does, you know it’s serious. Jessica went downstairs to apologise to Yoona. She walked up to Yoona and put her hands on Yoona’s shoulders.

“I’m sorry Yoongie…” Jessica whispered, “come outside with me”

Jessica took Yoona outside and the two sisters walked in the cool night’s breeze.

“A-am I really a , unnie?” Yoona was still crying

“You aren’t, I was very wrong to call you that. I was just angry at you… The thing is… I still kind of like Donghae, just a bit…” Jessica told her

“I’m sorry unnie…”

The two continued to walk around their neighborhood, not going in any particular direction.

“Wipe your eyes,” Jessica handed Yoona a tissue

Yoona nodded and took the tissue.

“You look so much like umma…” Jessica gave her a small smile

 “I wish she hadn’t left us so early…” Yoona sniffed

“We all wish that Yoong…  But at least we know she is watching us in heaven, up there,” Jessica looked up to the night sky

“I can imagine umma scolding all of us right now…” Yoona closed her eyes

“Why?”

“We forgot to go to grandmother’s dinner…”

“Oh!” Jessica looked at Yoona, “we are so screwed…”

“Mianhae umma!” Yoona called out to the sky

“Maybe if we all go to grandma’s house now, umma won’t be mad at us…” Jessica said

“Let’s go then! We have to pick up the others first…”

“I’ll race you, ready, set, go!” Jessica grinned

The two sisters started to run but Jessica quickly got tired.

“Unnie let’s run together!” Yoona held Jessica’s hand and started running again

Jessica smiled and nodded. She watched her younger sister run, her long hair flying behind her. She deserves someone who is sweet to her, who will never leave her alone… Jessica is certain that Donghae will eventually leave Yoona and leave Yoona heartbroken. ‘Well if he does’, Jessica thought, ‘he isn’t getting away with it…”
