"Good job everyone. The operation is successful!"

Doc congratulated everyone and kanya-kanya na kaming lumabas ng operating room. I smiled and bowed sa mga kasama ko. Another successful operation for today.

I went out and went to my room to get dress and clean myself up. It's another day being a doctor here in the hospital and I still couldn't believe that I am a doctor myself already.

"Doc Yu, kanina pa may tumatawag sa phone mo sa room."

I smiled at Doc Lino and said my thanks. I saw that my phone has 5 missed calls. Lahat ng iyon galing lahat kay Dad. I was about to dial his number when my phone rang.

"Hello dad. I'm sorry if hindi ko nasagot right away, I had an scheduled operation kanina."

"It's okay, Jimin. Your Grandfather wants you to go home tomorrow. He said that your leave has been taken care of and the only thing you need to do is be here tomorrow before lunch. We will have a family meeting with your Grandpa's business partners."

"Okay dad. I'll book a flight early in the morning."

"Good. I'll let your kuya fetch you tomorrow anak. Love you."

"Noted dad. I love you too."

The call ended right away. Nagbihis na ako kaagad para makapunta sa office ng head namin to confirm about the leave na sinabi ni Dad sa akin kanina.

I wonder what Lolo did para magkaroon ako ng leave. Masyadong busy sa hospital kaya minsan lang talaga nakaka-leave ang mga doctors dito.

"Karina here's the leave na ni-request ng Lolo mo. You have a week before you go back to work and it's not paid ha.

"Thank you, doc."

Tinanggap ko yung paper and umalis na. I guess having a week break won't hurt naman and I can finally see my family na rin.

Pag-uwi ko nag-impake na ako kaagad. Hindi na ako nagdala ng marami pang damit kasi may mga damit naman ako sa bahay.

The available flight na maaga papunta sa Davao is 9 am na lang. I was kinda worried about being late since sinabi ni dad na lunch meeting daw yung mangyayari.

I dialed my ate's number to ask where and what time yung lunch meeting with the family.

"What?" Bakit galit to? I smiled at my ate's remarks. I bet hindi na naman niya tiningnan kung sino ang tumawag.

"Hello to you too ate. I called kasi I wanna ask if what time at where gaganapin yung meeting?"

"OHMYGOD! I'm sorry Rina. I didn't know na ikaw yung tumawag. Your ate is kinda busy kaya pag pasensyahan mo na ha?"

I smiled sa call. Hindi pa rin nagbabago si ate. She's always busy managing our family business and being an engineer at the same time.

"It's okay ate. I know you." Tumawa siya sa kabilang linya.

"What time ka ba dadating so I can tell your kuya Taeyong to fetch you sa airport."

"I think mga 11 am ate Rene."

"Got it Rina. I'll tell your kuya. We miss you here. Buti naman at naisipan mo ng umuwi."

"Yeah ate. It's been a long time. Anyway, you should continue what you are doing there ate. I bet Grandpa's stresssing you out."

I heard her groan sa kabilang linya. Tumawa na lang ako.

"Sinabi mo pa. See you soon Rina. Bye!"

After the call nagpahinga na lang ako went to sleep. I better rest because I had a long tiring day.

 

 

 

 

8 am pa lang nasa airport na ako. I don't want to be stuck sa traffic kaya minabuti ko nalang na pumunta ng maaga. I wore a simple cream dress. Buti nalang hindi marami ang tao sa airport kaya hindi masyadong magulo.

But due to hindi malamang dahilan, bigla daw na delay ang flight so I was worried na baka ma late ako. Ayaw ko pa naman sa lahat ang na la-late.

11:30 am ako nakarating and so I hurriedly search for kuya Tris sa labas ng airport. Architect Taeyong Tristan, my kuya.

I forgot to ask what car will he bring kaya para akong tanga rito. I will just call him.

I was about to dial his number but someone hugged me.

"Jiminnie! Ang cute mo pa rin. I missed you." Kuya is taller than me and just like what he always do nung bata kami, he ruffled my hair.

Hindi na lang ako nagreklamo kasi just like him, I missed him too.

"Kuya I am not a kid anymore." He laughed at what I said. Napansin kong maraming nakatingin sa amin kaya medyo nahiya ako.

"Whatever Jiminnie. As much as I want to tease you, ma l-late na tayo and you wouldn't want an angry Grandpa diba?"

Sabi ni ate na we will just head right away sa restaurant kay hindi na kami umuwi ng bahay.

"Aren't you too formal kuya? What's with the fit?"

He is wearing a black suit. I feel like hindi sapat ang dress na sinuot ko.

"Sabi ni Lolo dress formally daw, though hindi ko naman alam kung tungkol saan yung meeting. Plus kompleto tayo today Jiminnie. Mom and Dad will be there. I think nandoon na nga rin si Ate Krystal at ate Rene."

"Even kuya Chanyeol went home?" I asked him.

"Yep. Even kuya Chan is here."

Nagulat ako sa sinabi ni kuya. Minsan lang kami makompleto during family dinner and to think that even Kuya Chan went home  this meeting must be important kay Lolo.

My dad is Lolo's eldest son kaya every time na may new business venture si Lolo, he will always ask Dad to be present during meetings. Dad wants us to learn business stuffs kaya sinasama kami sa meeting.

Our family is a family of Engineers and Architects tapos kilala pa sa business industry kaya always sila busy.

My ate Irene and kuya Chanyeol are engineers, ate Krystal and kuya Taeyong are architects while me, a doctor.

Bata pa lang kami, decided na all of us will take engineering or architecture as a program kaya nagulat sila Mom when I told them that I want to take Medicine.

Lolo was mad and I feel like he was disappointed. I had to bargain a lot of things bago niya ako payagan. Anyway, enough of the drama.

Nakarating na kami sa isang famous seafood restaurant. The restaurant is not packed kaya madali lang namin nakita sila ate. After 2 years, ngayon lang ako nakauwi kaya medyo kinakabahan ako lalo na at nandiyan si Lolo.

 

My family is seated sa right side ng table kaya di ko masyadong nakikita ang kaharap nila. Maybe ito na yung sinasabi ni Dad na ka business partner ni Lolo.

"Oh! My bunsong apo is here."

Tumayo si Lolo and I went to kiss his cheeks. Tumayo sila Mom and Dad so I went to their seat to greet them.

"Sorry for being late, Lo. My flight was delayed ng ilang minutes." I said after greeting my ates and kuya.

"Don't worry, iha. Kararating lang din namin."

The old guy smiled at me so I bowed and smiled back at him. I think kasama niya ang family niya. Nakita kong nag smile sakin ang lalaki at babae na I think one of them is anak ng matandang lalaki.

"You're really pretty, dear." Sabi ng babae na nasa harap ni ate Rene. I am not good with handling compliments kaya nag smile na lang ako.

She extended her hand kaya tinanggap ko ito.

"I'm Jennie Kim. You are?"

"I am Jimin Katarina Yu po." Wow! She looks so good. Okay calm down Rina.

Tumayo naman ang isang lalaki na katabi niya. Baka kapatid niya to.

"I'm his older brother, Kim Taehyung."  And I am right, kapatid niya nga. Tinanggap ko ang kamay niya.

"I'm his younger brother, Kim Beomgyu." He smiled at me.

I saw that may isa pang vacant seat sa tabi ni Beomgyu so I did not ask about it na. I'm bad with interactions so I did not bother na lang.

"Hello iha, I'm their mother, Taeyeon and this is my husband, Baekhyun."

They both smiled at me kaya I smiled and bowed at them. Umupo na kaming lahat. I noticed that wala pang food sa harap. Hindi pa siguro sila umo-order kasi baka may hinihintay pa kami.

"Good thing nakaabot kayo Rina. Akala ko talaga ma l-late ka ng sobra kasi you were not answering your phone." Sabi ni ate Krystal sakin.

"Sorry ate. I left my phone sa bag. Akala ko nga ma l-late na ako. I missed you ate."

I want to hug her but pinigilan nalang namin ang sarili kasi we are in front of Lolo's business partners.

"Fernan, where is your other apo? Matatagalan pa ba yon?"

I knew it. May hinihintay pa kaming dumating. I saw that the pretty girl, Jennie, was calling someone sa phone. Even their kuya and the boy na nagpakilalang Beomgyu ay nasa phone rin. 

Napansin kong their Mom is annoyed and so does their Lolo but di ko nalang pinansin masyado at ang nag focus na lang akong tumingin sa menu

"Let's just order na lang Dencio. Baka na traffic lang."

They started ordering foods. Tapos itong mga kapatid ko nag-uunahan pang mamili ng food for me.

"Jiminnie I think you will like this adobong scallops."

"No kuya Chan. Rina I bet this buttered shrimp tastes better." Ate Krystal added. I can't even keep up.

Gosh. I don't even know where I should focus my attention.

"Rina, feel ko magugustuhan mo tong clam na may cheese. You like dishes na may maraming cheese right? You should try this one." Sabi naman ni ate Irene.

Tama naman si ate Rene. Who doesn't even eat cheese? Cheese are the best!

"Jiminnie, you better choose this crab. Pasok to sa taste mo." Sabi ni kuya Taeyong.

"Kids! You better get a grip of yourselves. Naguguluhan na yung kapatid niyo dahil sa mga pinagsasabi niyo. Let Katarina choose her meal."

Natahimik naman sila kuya at nakita kong nakangiti lang ang nasa harapan namin.

"I'm sorry. Ngayon lang kasi umuwi ang bunso namin kaya na-miss siguro nila."

Mommy Tiffany smiled at Ma'am Taeyeon. She looked at me and smiled sa akin kaya ngumiti na rin ako.

After a while, na serve na yung food namin. Ang dami pala ng inorder nila.

"I'm sorry if I am late."

May nagsalita sa likod namin kaya napatigil kami bigla.

"Buti naman at naisipan mong magpakita Minjeong."
