Lost in Your Eyes

"I get lost in your eyes and I feel my spirits rise. And soar like the wind..."

Sunny found herself smiling at her reflection. Today was a big day and the outfit she was wearing was perfect for it. An elegant flowing gown that hug her curves right. Her phone beeped and as if on cue, a silly grin was plastered on her face upon knowing who it was.

     Hyomin.

I can't wait to see you!

She giggled. It has been eleven years and the girl still has the same effect on her. She remembered how confusing it was when she first noticed how different she was acting around Hyomin and how she felt relief finally knowing it was love she was in

After sending her reply, she did some last minute checking and proceeded to the venue. It's an hour drive from where she was. Deciding that she needs some distractions for the sort of a drive, she turned the car stereo on and played the song she's been practicing for a while now. A song that she promised herself to sing to the person she loves.

"I get weak, in a glance. Isn't this what's called romance?"

Sunny arrived a little over an hour later. Traffic was not that bad except for a few hiccups here and there. She was greeted with a small crowd of peope. Some were new faces and others were the ones close to her heart. Clearly, the event haven't started yet. She tried looking around for the familiar set of eyes she has grown to love when a tap on her shoulder grabbed her attention. She immediately bowed in recognition when she realized who it was, Hyomin's father.

The man let out a chuckle and jokingly reprimanded her for the formal greeting saying that he considers Sunny as one of his own. They were in the middle of a quick catch up when a voice so familiar called her name. Sunny felt everything around her was in slow motion when their eyes met. A familiar flutter in her chest made itself known and that can only be caused by the person walking towards her. Hyomin looked so beautiful with her black gown. A slit on the dress accentuating her long legs responsible for her height. A gentle squeeze on her arm pulled her out of her trance right before Hyomin practically tackled her for a hug. She took a glance on the girl's father who returned a gentlle fatherly smile at her. She smiled back knowing full well what the smile meant. After tonight, it's time to let go

"I don't mind not knowin' what I'm heading for. You can take me to the skies"

     "Sunny! I'm nervous!"

     "I know."

     "Sunny!"

"Ouch! No need to hit me!"

"I'm nervous! What if I stutter? Oh my god, what if my mind goes blank while I'm speaking and the spotlight's on me on that stage and I—"

"Look at me. Breathe in. Breathe out."

     "Thanks."

"If it helps, I'm right behind you on that stage. Well, not really behind but like... a little over to the right, by the piano."

      "Pff. Okay, you dork."

"Now that's better. Keep that pretty smile of yours, Minnie."

"It's like being lost in heaven."

'She's so stunning.' It was the only thing in Sunny's mind while she watch Hyomin address the crowd. She was waiting for her cue to play the song she's put her heart onto but got distracted by the girl in from of the stage. Hyomin then looked at her after god knows how long and it took half a second for Sunny to realize that that was her cue to start playing.

So she did. She did not dare open her eyes as she heard some gasp from the crowd. She knew what was happening anyways so she focused on playing and singing the song. Every memory associated with it came crashing as she try to brush them all aside. She can't let her voice falter. Not now. Not ever.

She sang for herself and for her, for the girl she loves most. Every melody filled with emotions she cannot and will not tell. Gathering enough courage, she opened her eyes while singing the last line and looked at Hyomin... lost in someone else's
