Minji knows that luck is always on her side. It seems that the deities or whoever decides for it favored her. She’s always satisfied with the results of her decision, she never regrets it not until today. She listed out things that can make her luck go away but she can’t find any.

 

Maybe it’s my time to get unlucky today. Minji’s day started like a wreck, first, she overslept and already running late to her work so she rushed to the shop without breakfast. If there’s something Minji wouldn’t miss in the world, it’s clearly food.

 

That’s why her mood went sour as she is currently driving to her destination. She’s glad that her way is quite clear with only a few cars visible. Looking at her GPS, she will reach their company in 30-40 minutes and she just hopes that their boss wouldn’t be present today.

 

While driving, she went to find her wallet and phone in her bag to buy food in the drive-thru nearby when all she can feel are the documents so she parked at the side for a while to clearly look in her bag. Once parked, she rummaged through the whole bag and almost cursed when she remembered she didn’t remove it in her coat in the closet. She found her phone but the battery is low, it’s clearly no use for her.

 

I guess we will work without eating. You can do it, Minji! Being positive is the only way to put her mind in tact because she’s getting stressed with the amount of bad luck she’s having today. She started to play some music to ease up her mind.

Minji chuckled at the song being played, at least she’s enjoying the vibe. She’s not even halfway through the song when her car suddenly halted. She tried to start it again but it’s no use and she just hit her head on the steering wheel. Calling her friends wouldn’t help either because her phone is off. She sighed and went outside of her car to look for a car repair shop nearby. As she looked around, luckily she saw a sign "InSomnia Auto Repair Shop" so she went there not before grabbing her bag incase.

 

She went inside the shop but there’s no people on the cashier side. Looking around, she heard a noise on the side so she followed it.

 

“Hello?” She called out while still looking for the noise she heard. Suddenly, there’s a loud noise coming to her left and what she saw is quite pitiful on her side. Tools were scattered while the girl under the car rapidly stood up, hitting her head in the process. Minji even heard the girl say, “Oh , that hurts.”

 

“Sorry, did I startle you?” Minji carefully asked as she went near the girl who’s currently wiping her sweats.

 

“No, you didn’t. I’m just quite clumsy.” The girl turned around to face her and Minji is sure that the girl in front of her is really gorgeous —even with those greases on her face. The girl is wearing a tank top covered with a flannel and partnered it with white baggy pants, not forgetting she’s rocking the blonde hair.

 

For someone working in a car repair shop, she’s quite brave to wear white. Minji thought

 

“So, what are you here for?” The girl asked, pulling Minji out of her thoughts.

 

“Oh yeah. Uhmm, my car suddenly stopped, I tried to start it repeatedly but it didn’t work.”

 

The girl is just nodding at her while she talks.

 

“Okay, so I bet your car is parked not far from here? Can you guide me there so I can know
what is the problem?” Minji nodded and led the way towards her car.

 

When they reached her car, the girl asked for her car key and went to start the car, trying to see the problem. Her car is just making noise, making Minji bothered because she’s already late to her work. The girl went in front and opened the hood of the car. Minji followed her and observed the girl beside her.

 

The girl let out a loud cheer, and Minji knows that she found out the reason why her car stopped.

 

“So? What’s the problem?” Minji said while the girl closed the hood.

 

“I believe your car just overheated Miss. The side of your engine has a burnt so I suggest we need to fix it.” The girl explained.

 

“How many minutes does it take for you to finish it?” Minji is hoping that the repair will just be quick but the reply she received immediately made the tears she’s holding back let loose.

 

“It’s not minutes since the burn is quite deep, approximately it will take 3 hours to get fixed.” The girl immediately rushed to her side when she noticed the other one was crying.

 

“Sorry, are you okay?” The girl carefully asked, trying not to step on the weak shell the other one seems to be in.

 

“I-it’s just that, I’ve been having bad luck this day, I overslept and now I'm clearly running so late in the work, then my car stopped.” Minji explained while seeing the girl trying to decide what to do, and if she’s not crying, she thinks the sight is really cute like a confused puppy.

 

“Uhmm sorry to hear that, I can call you a cab, if you want?” The girl suggested, which made Minji shake her head.

 

“That’s not possible too. I left my wallet at home so I don’t have any money in me.” The girl is clearly trying to think of some solutions when she suddenly looks at her watch.

 

“Where do you work if I may ask?” The girl asked.

 

“I’m working at Happy Face Company. Why?” Minji was surprised when the girl suddenly grabbed her hand and led her back to the shop.

 

What is she doing? The only thing running around in Minji’s mind right now. The girl told her to wait in front of the shop while she went inside the shop. She can hear some noise inside the shop when suddenly the garage at the side was being opened by her and bring out a motorcycle with two helmets.

 

“I’ll just send you there, it will only take up a few minutes since I’ll use this motorcycle.” The girl suggested, as she gave the other helmet to Minji.

 

“Oh no! I don’t wanna bother you. Maybe I’ll just run there or I don’t know ask for money on the street?” Minji blurted out making the girl in front of her laugh.

 

“Miss, running there will take up double the time a car can take, and if you ask for money, how sure are you that you will get enough before the lunch break?” The girl has a point so she couldn’t help but to agree to her and wear the helmet.

 

“Just take this as a help, since your day didn’t start great. You look like you will break down anytime so lending a hand won’t hurt me. Now, hop on!” The girl winked at her and Minji is just glad that the helmet can hide her blushing cheeks. She carefully hopped on the motorcycle and decided to hold on the back instead of the girl in front of her.

 

“Okay, in 7 minutes, we will reach Happy Face Company. Just hold tight and enjoy the InSomnia Ride.” The girl started up quite fast making Minji hold on to her shoulder not without making a shriek sound.

 

“Sorry about that. Don’t worry we’ll reach there without scratch, trust me.” Minji leaned her ear closer to hear what she’s saying. She’s glad that the girl is making her feel at ease forgetting that she cried to her a while ago. True to the girl’s words, they reached the company even earlier than the said time.

 

“We’re here. Don’t worry about your car, I’ll fix it once I reach there.” Minji fixed her appearance once she set foot on the ground.

 

“Thank you for driving me here, you’re a savior. Sorry for bothering and leaving the car to you.” Minji apologized clearly embarrassed because the girl did so much for her already when they didn’t even know each other.

 

“Well, I’m a mechanic for a reason to fix cars, right?” The girl joked again making Minji smile.

 

“Now, off you go. You’re already late. I’m Kim Yoohyeon by the way.” The girl, Yoohyeon, lent her hand to Minji which she accepted gladly.

 

“I’m Kim Minji. Your name is pretty.” Not as pretty as you. Minji just cringed at her words and started to turn around to go inside when Yoohyeon suddenly stopped her.

 

“Oh, Minji!” Minji looked at the girl and smiled at her which makes the surroundings seems brighter.

 

“You have a pretty smile, don’t waste on it. A day has 24 hours, you’re not yet half way to it so cheer up, and you’ll have a greater day than before.” Yoohyeon’s words made its way to Minji’s heart and she will hold on to it.

 

“Thank you for that. You’re really kind, you know? You did so much for me today. Drive safely!”

 

Minji genuinely smiled at Yoohyeon who reciprocated it. If there are people watching them, they might think that the earth can possibly have two suns beside each other.

 

"No worries, I just drove you here nothing more. And I will, so see you later? You know, uh, your car yeah, you need to get your car so I will see you, yeah that.” Actually you did more than just driving, Yoohyeon. Minji couldn’t help but to laugh at Yoohyeon’s rambling, honestly, how can someone be so cute like this?

 

“I get it. See you later, Yoohyeon.” Minji waved as Yoohyeon rushed to start her motorcycle and drive back to their shop. She waited until she couldn't see Yoohyeon’s figure before going inside the company with a big smile on her face.

 

She might get scolded by her boss, but at least meeting a Kim Yoohyeon will keep her day positive and she knows it will be greater in the end too, a day has 24 hours after all.

“Hello? Earth to Minji?” Yoohyeon snaps her fingers in front of Minji which pulls her out of her thoughts.

 

“Oh, sorry what was that?” Minji asked which made Yubin laugh.

 

“I told you, Yoohyeon. She’s not listening.” Yubin said as she made her way back to their room to clean up herself.

 

“I said that the burnt in your engine got fixed already and I asked you if you will stay for dinner here.” Minji made her way towards Yoohyeon, who is currently pouting. Minji couldn’t help but to smile at the sight in front of her, she’s really cute.

 

“Sorry, Pup. I just remembered the first time we met.” Minji pecked Yoohyeon’s lips, removing the pout from the said girl.

 

“Was that the time you cried because your car couldn’t be fixed in a few minutes?” Yoohyeon smirked

 

Minji smacked her head lightly and glared at her. “ Is that all you can remember from that?! When I can clearly remember the very start of it, including your clumsiness.” She said, making Yoohyeon laugh.

 

“Sorry, babe. I’m just joking, you know. Of course, I remembered the first time we met. It’s not every day that you will get a gorgeous customer in your shop, that only happened four times before you if I’m correct.” Minji couldn’t help but smack Yoohyeon’s head again from what she heard.

 

“Ouch, what was that for?” Yoohyeon confusedly asked. Yubin, who is already clean, went back to work while rolling her eyes to Yoohyeon’s words.

 

“Maybe if you’re not crazy enough to say you met gorgeous customers right in front of your girlfriend, you won’t get smacked.” Yubin explained, she can see the gears on Yoohyeon’s mind working and she knows in a few minutes, there will be more than one smack coming towards Yoohyeon’s head.

 

“Oh? But we really have gorgeous customers, right? You remembered the Lee sisters, Gahyeon and Siyeon. The beauty runs in their blood, then I will know that the next pretty one, Bora, is Siyeon’s girlfriend? Dang, she hit a jackpot right there.” Yoohyeon said not noticing that the aura beside her is not good for her life and Yubin witnessing this could only pray for Yoohyeon’s life.

 

Someone will sleep on the couch tonight. She thought.

 

“Really? Gahyeon, Siyeon and Bora, huh. That’s only three, I thought you said four.” Minji gritted her teeth as she spoke, holding her patience for her dense girlfriend.

 

“Wait, I kinda forgot her name. Oh! It’s Handong, we meet often because she keeps on coming back here to fix her car. I even said that with the amount she’s paying to me, why not buy a new car then. But she said she doesn’t mind coming back here so I just let her.” Yubin could only facepalm because of her best friend’s antics. Yoohyeon is the top of their class during college, what happened to her?

 

Yoohyeon didn’t notice the crumpled paper coming her way which hit her in the head

 

“You idiot! She’s clearly flirting with you, and she got tired because you’re so dense. Like, who even bringstheir best friend when someone asks them on a date?” Yubin shouted. Minji raised her eyebrows from what she heard and looked back to Yoohyeon who’s rubbing the spot on her head. Minji went towards her to blow the part that got hit and massage it lightly.

 

“She asked you on a date? When you told me you never got into one?” Minji asked, still massaging the bump on her girlfriend’s head.

 

“IS THAT A DATE?! She just asked me if I want to eat somewhere and she told me it’s her treat. Who am I to say no for free food? Even Minji knows not to decline on free food.” Yoohyeon said.

 

“Well, at least I know if they are asking me on a date or not, and not so dense like you.” Minji glared at her.

 

“I’m sorry then. You’re in luck and so am I that she gave up and this dense girlfriend of yours didn’t entertain her or else we wouldn’t meet each other.” Yoohyeon smiled and stole a kiss on Minji’s lips.

 

Minji takes Yoohyeon’s hand in her, pulling her closer to snuggle on her shoulder. “Yeah, I’m really lucky. Getting to meet a savior and now my girlfriend is the luckiest day I ever had and wouldn’t change it for the world.” Minji calmly speaks, offering Yoohyeon a soft smile as she stared with a tender gaze at her.

 

“And just know that the first time I met you, when you stood up from under the car, even with the greases on your face, I just knew deep down that you left a great impression on me. Then when you drove me to the company, I promised that I wouldn’t let you go even as friends and I just got luckier that I still have you, more than just friends.” Minji leaned her forehead on Yoohyeon who
leaned back.

 

“Well, believe it or not I just had to say that driving you to your work that time is my way to spend more time with you. Even if I returned here with a fuming Yubin because I left the shop unattended.” Minji just chuckled as she tightened the hug. She remembered Yubin opening up to her about that incident, which in their luck, no things and money were stolen but Yoohyeon has to take Yubin’s shift as a punishment.

 

“I’m so lucky I fell in love with you.” Minji blurted out in which Yoohyeon returned with “Me too, always.” Silence took over the shop, as the couple took their time to themselves, and Yoohyeon being Yoohyeon had to break the mood.

 

“So, will you stay for dinner?”

 

“I don’t think so. I have to take the night shift, and just went here to get my car fixed. No need to wait for me during dinner, I’ll just come right away.” Minji said which she knows will make Yoohyeon pout again.

 

“Why do I have to eat dinner alone? The only good thing that happened today is you visiting here, other than that, it’s all bad.” Yoohyeon pouted and Minji knows she won’t get tired of seeing this if it means she gets to be hugged tightly by her girlfriend.

 

“Well, just know that your day will be greater than this, just cheer up. As you said, a day has 24 hours and you’re halfway through it. At the end of your 24 hours, you will be with me after all.”

 

Minji said as she took her key from the desk and kissed Yoohyeon before going in her car.

 

“Fine, but I’ll be the big spoon tonight.” Yoohyeon whines, making Minji smile.

 

“As long as you want, babe.” Minji said before driving towards the company. The two got separated with a big smile on their faces to face the few hours before cuddling in their bed in the evening.
