#1 - greet her every morning

 

Morning greetings are obviously pretty normal, especially when you ran into some people that you know in school.

 

"Good morning ma'am!"

"Good morning sir!"

"Good morning *insert name of friends here* !"

 

These are just some of the sentences that Dahyun says daily. Sometimes, she just smiles to the others who isn't that close to her.

 

"Good morning Mina!" she said as Mina approaches her locker which is just right beside hers. Like what has been said in the beginning, this is completely normal. A hundred percent normal. Or that's what Dahyun thinks. If she isn't feeling any kind of attraction towards her dorm neighbor turned into bestfriend, it would just be normal.

 

Her day just becomes better whenever she sees that pretty smile from Mina every single time she greets her.

 

It's all normal (or so she thought).

 

"Morning, Dahyun" Mina answered sweetly before opening her locker and going through her stuff for her classes.

 

"What did you have for breakfast?" Dahyun asked after closing her own locker and leaning onto it as she asks her so-called neighbor.

 

"Momo made pancakes, she even let me put some toppings on it like blueberries, strawberries and stuff" Mina answered with a hint of happiness on the tone of her voice.

 

Dahyun smile subtly as she observe how happy small things like putting toppings on pancakes makes Mina this happy. "That's cool, mind if I try some sometime?" she asked.

 

Mina closed her locker's door right after she finished preparing for her classes. "You know you can come by anytime" she answered with her usual sweet smile. 

 

It's normal. This is normal. Dahyun coming over to Mina and Momo's room for whatever reason is completely normal. Dahyun just feels bad about daydreaming of her having breakfast with Mina and erasing Momo's existence (sorry Momo!).

 

"Cool, I'll let you know when I'll stop over for breakfast" Dahyun answered, ignoring the fact that she just thought about of having breakfast alone with this pretty girl standing right in front of her.

 

It seems like Mina's smile is permanently stuck on her face for her smile has never left it. "See you around" she said before bidding her good bye and started walking away.

 

Dahyun wanted to talk to her more, but time is running out; classes will begin in a few minutes and being late on her first class (which is History) doesn't sound so great since their professor is a monster. "Have a great day!" she shouted over to Mina who simply waved her hand without looking back.

 

"You too!"

#2 - walk her home

 

Another exhausting day has ended and Dahyun is yet again facing her locker as she returned her belongings inside, secretly waiting for the owner of the one beside her to show up.

 

A few minutes of fake organizing her not-so-messy locker, the said owner of next-door locker has finally arrived. 

 

"Hey" Dahyun said softly before closing her locker door. Mina showed a smile so fake, Dahyun easily noticed it. "Everything okay?" she asked in concern.

 

Mina let out a deep sigh as she go through her own locker. "Yeah, this day is just so exhausting" she answered followed by a pout. 

 

Dahyun paused for a few minutes, contemplating about how she could cheer this girl up. All she could think of is Mina probably wants to be alone and rest. Asking her out (not literally) to eat or play games together is definitely not a good idea.

 

"Wanna walk back to the dorm together?" she asked, just in time for Mina to finish going through her locker.

 

"You don't even have to ask" Mina answered.

 

A big smile has been painted on Dahyun's face. Again, this is normal. Walking back to their dorm building is normal. Even if it is normal, Dahyun just couldn't help but feel excited when they walk back together.

 

Mina is not the kind of person who openly shares her thoughts to anyone except for Momo. Momo knows everything about her, every inch of her—from her scalp to the bottom of her feet—only Momo knows her best. The reason why Dahyun gets excited about going home with Mina is because they get to talk about their day. Though it doesn't reveal much about the latter, Dahyun eventually puts the little puzzle pieces together in terms of discovering small facts about Mina.

 

The quick stories that Mina tells Dahyun gives her the tiniest bit of information about the things that she likes and what she doesn't. It's all very subtle, but Dahyun kept on mentally taking notes about what Mina has to say.

 

On their walk way back home, Mina revealed that their professor has changed his mind about their project. That project is already an on-going one, but their professor decided to tweak things up and make sudden changes. Mina hated that. She hates last minute changes especially when she's already working her off on that certain task.

 

Mentally taking notes once again, Dahyun added something on her list which is the fact that Mina hates last minute changes no matter what instance it is.

 

Their dorm building does not require a lot of walking, so they arrived quick like how they usually do. The two girls had to walk up two floors to reach their own respective units. With her hand on their unit's doorknob, Mina let out a sudden silence. Dahyun noticed and assumed that Mina has something to say.

 

"Uh Dahyun?" Mina called the latter who just hummed in response. "Since Momo's still out for dance practice...." Mina's voice faded as she fidgeted with the keys inserted on the keyhole. "...wanna come over and play Smash Bros or Mario Kart with me?"

 

Dahyun isn't the best at gaming, but she's been learning a lot thanks to her neighbor. "I don't see why not" she answered Mina's question with a smile.

 

Mina smiled back softly before finally turning the knob and pushing the door open. But before Mina could enter the place, she was stopped by a tug on her shirt.

 

"I'll go get changed first, it will only just take a few seconds I promise" Dahyun said, clapping both of her hands as if she's begging Mina for something.

 

"Sure, take your time" Mina answered before entering their room, while Dahyun went through her bag to look for her keys in a rush, her hands even shaking as she tried to shoot the keys to unlock the door. 

 

The loud noise that she's been making on attempting to unlock the locked door made it suddenly burst open. "What is going on out here" her roommate said, both her eyebrows furrowed.

 

"Chaeng! You're here! Thanks for opening the door for me" Dahyun said continuously, the rush can still be felt on her voice. 

 

Dahyun lifted her hand up for a high-five that was accepted by a very confused Chaeyoung before she ran into their room. "You can just knock, you know" her roommate said loudly, closing the door behind her while watching Dahyun move like a cheetah chasing its preditor. "What are you in a rush for anyways?" she asked.

 

Dahyun ran to her own room, went straight through her closet to get a shirt—not caring what color or design it has—and immediately changing into it. "Mina's waiting"

 

A smile has appeared on her roommate's face as she leaned on Dahyun's doorframe. "Ohh, another after school date?" Chaeyeoung teased as Dahyun was about to lift her shirt up to change.

 

The presence of the latter has interrupted her, so she gave Chaeyoung a glare. "What do you mean another? And please go away, I'm trying to change here" she said while pushing her roommate back and slamming the door to her face, the smirk not leaving Chaeyoung's face. 

 

It took Dahyun a quick second to change, so she immediately opened the door right after, surprised that her roommate was still standing in front of her room. "What" Dahyun said, Chaeyoung raised both of her eyebrows on a teasing way. "Shut up" Dahyun said again before walking pass her roommate who shouted "I didn't even say anything!"

 

#3 - share hobbies with her

 

"Are you ready to lose, Mina?" Dahyun asked, shifting to her seat with the blue controller of Mina's nintendo switch on her tiny hands. 

 

Mina let out a rather exaggerating laugh. "Are YOU ready to lose, Dahyun?" she answered back. Dahyun let out a playful huff, and the two girls started to play a round on Smash Bros, one of Mina's favorite game on her console.

 

Even if she looks elegant and has one of the biggest brain on class, her gaming skills are hidden deep within her. There are a lot hidden within her, tho—like the fact that she's actually a huge nerd when it comes to completing a Lego set build within an hour, and even knitting. She has a lot of talent, she's literally so good at everything. 

 

After a round full of groans from Dahyun, Mina claimed her victory. "That's all you got?" she teased the smaller girl.

 

"Please, I'm just being easy on you." Dahyun teased back before putting a serious game face on. "Again."

 

And another round has started 

 

Followed by another....

 

...and another.

 

Aaaaand another.

 

Dahyun just kept losing. After 4 more continuous battles, Dahyun has finally accepted her defeat. "I guess I will never defeat you on this game" she said.

 

Mina let out a soft laugh. "You at any kind of game" she said before stretching her arms out and placing her head on Dahyun's right shoulder, the spirit of sleepiness finally possessing her. She let out a yawn before closing her eyes.

 

Dahyun noticed that Mina's energy has ran out, so she just sat there quietly; letting Mina drift off to dreamland right on her shoulder. The scent flowing out of Mina's soft hair lingers through her nose, and she kind of wanted to run her fingers on it.

 

After waiting for a few minutes of making sure that Mina has fallen in her deep sleep, Dahyun finally started moving. She carefully made Mina lay down on their apartment sofa, grabbed a pillow to place underneath her head. Dahyun's moving ever so gentle like a feather falling down, trying her hardest not to wake the latter up.

 

She stared at Mina's face for a few seconds, observing how beautiful Mina looks even when she's asleep. She pushes the few strands of hair dangling down on her face to her ear, giving her a better view of the sleeping masterpiece infront of her, and suddenly having the urge to kiss Mina.

 

Mina suddenly shifted her position to lay on her side, her entire body facing Dahyun this time. "Thanks" she whispered in her cute sleepy voice, Dahyun just couldn't help but smile.

 

#4 compliment her

 

Dahyun went over to the apartment right beside them for breakfast, she already informed Mina last night that she'll be coming over the next morning.

 

The smell of something sweet flung all over the place, and Dahyun inhaled deeply to identify what it was. "It smells so good here" she said after entering the unit.

 

"Good morning Dahyun!" Mina greeted when Dahyun walked over the kitchen table and settling herself down on the vacant chair next to Mina.

 

"Woah, cookies! This must've been the one making this place smell so great" she complimented before taking a cooking from the plate in the middle of the table.

 

"Mina made them" Momo answered after taking a sip of her freshly brewed coffee which makes the room smell even more great than it already is.

 

Dahyun's eyes widened in surprise after what Momo just said. "Amazing" she said while playfully examining the cookie as if it was a rare piece of element from the moon.

 

Momo placed both of her arms on the table as she leaned closer to Dahyun. "Come on, try it" she said, her voice kinda sounding a little threatening. The smile on her face makes everything feel more suspicious.

 

Mina watched quietly as Dahyun took a bite of the cookie, anticipating at how the latter would react.

 

No reaction. Nothing. Not even a blink of an eye or a twitch on the eyebrows. Dahyun's face is completely blank.

 

"This is SO good!" Dahyun answered enthusiastically with a big sincere smile. The two owners of the unit stayed still and quiet. "What? It's really good! I could eat more!" Dahyun added before grabbing a few more pieces on the center plate and munching on it continuously.

 

A sudden pressure was felt on her shoulder, she looked beside her and Mina's face is painted with worry. "I know it tastes weird, I tried it myself. No need to fake it, Dahyun" she said.

 

Dahyun was caught. She let out a defeated smile and asked for water, which was catered by Mina in an instant. "I'm sorry, I got the measurements wrong" Mina said with a pout, but was immediately followed by a sweet smile. "But thanks, I appreciate your reaction" she added, making Dahyun blush secretly.

 

Mina stood up and made a few stretches, flexing her flexible body. "I'll go take a shower" she said before excusing herself to the bathroom, leaving Dahyun alone with her roommate.

 

"You should confess to her" Momo suddenly said, making Dahyun spit out a little bit of water that she was drinking.

 

Dahyun used the back of her hand to wipe the top of her lips. "Excuse me, what?" she said, Momo chuckled.

 

"It's obvious that you like her" Momo claimed. Dahyun tensed up, afraid that the girl they were talking about might hear through the bathroom door since it was just a few walks away from where they were sitting. "The fake reaction even though the cookies tasted so bad, and how you blushed when she thanked you" Momo added, Making Dahyun's face burn up like it never did before.

 

This is not the fifth way that Dahyun would consider on how she would win Mina's heart. Actually, it's far ahead on the list, and she swore that she would never do it to save the friendship that they have.

 

#? confess

 

"Bro" Dahyun said, both of her tiny hands grasping the straps of her backpack as she walks to the school with her roommate. "Momo said I should confess to Mina"

 

Chaeyoung looked at her. "Will you do it?" she asked, deciding that this is not the time to tease and joke around since she could feel how serious Dahyun is about this.

 

"Should I?" Dahyun asked, kicking the small pebble on the concrete floor.

 

"Since Momo told you to do it, maybe it was a good sign that things will go well?" Chaeyoung encouraged the latter. "I mean, I kept on saying that you should confess, yet you never really done it" she added.

 

"But what if I mess everything up?" Dahyun asked, a hint of worry on the tone of her voice.

 

Chaeyoung gave Dahyun's back a few soft pats "You wont, I believe in you"

The day has finally ended and some classes has finished, including Mina's. Dahyun's class ended an hour earlier than hers, so they weren't really able to meet by the lockers.

 

When Mina opened her locker door, a white paper flew down. To her curiosity, she picked it up and read the note quietly.

 

"Mina, hey.

 

You probably know who this is based on my handwriting. It's just that I have something to say that I couldn't say personally.

 

I like you, Mina.

 

I like how you beat my off on games, how your hair smells like everlasting perfume, how you would smile to me everyday... literally everything about you. I like you, a lot. 

 

I've been liking you for a very long time, and it took me this long to express my feelings because I'm afraid to ruin what we already have.

 

You don't really have to answer. But if you want to, I'll be waiting outside our doors until 4:59. Everything past that will all be thrown away and forgotten. We'll act like nothing happened by the time the clock strikes 5. Okay?

 

I'm really sorry, I know this is all too sudden.

Mina's heart began to do a backflip and her stomach started to swirl. Her legs suddenly feeling all weak and all she wanted to do right now is see Dahyun.

 

Wait. DAHYUN.

 

Mina looked at her watch and saw the time, it's currently 4:56 and time is literally running out.

 

With that, she slammed her locker door closed and sprinted her way to their dorm building, her backpack slamming on her back with every big step that she made and her hand clenching the note firmly.

 

4:58 on the clock, and Mina has finally reached their unit floor. She took a quick break by the end of the stairways to catch her breath, and Dahyun noticed the sudden presence.

 

With sweat dripping down her forehead, Mina approached her dorm neighbor who has been waiting right outside their doors for probably an hour. 

 

A smile appeared on Mina's sweaty face, and Dahyun didn't know how to react due to shock. "Mina?" she called out. 

 

Mina held her index finger up, asking for a quick pause to take a deep breath before pulling herself back together. "I read your note" she said, showing the crumpled piece of paper on her hand. "Crap, I'm sorry I ruined it" she said, trying to straighten out and flatten the paper.

 

"Why are you here?" Dahyun asked the dumbest question that Mina has ever heard.

 

With a flick of a finger on Dahyun's pale forehead, Mina answered. "You think I would run as if my life is depending on it if I'm here for nothing?" she said, watching the smaller girl rub her now pink forehead.

 

Mina leaned down a little to place a quick kiss on Dahyun's cheek, making her turn red instantly. Mina giggled due to how dumb but cute Dahyun looks at the moment.

 

She grabbed both of Dahyun's hand with her own and intertwined their fingers together, Dahyun's soft baby hands in contact with Mina's sweaty ones. 

 

"I like you too, Dahyunnie."
