Taeyeon walked down the alley behind her apartment complex after sunset, taking out the trash. Yeeting the black bag into the large dumpster, she heard a squeak. She paused, only to hear the sound again. She walked around to the side of the dumpster and noticed a meowing kitten, dirty and feeble. 

Five minutes later the baby was in her bathroom sink, getting a bath from Taeyeon’s better half. 

“Aww, he’s so cute. Aren’t you, Dakota,” Tiffany fawned over the gray kitten drenched in suds. 

“What, Dakota?”

Taeyeon had no idea where the name came from but knew he would get a cuter nickname soon enough.
