My old and dusty, small bag I blew on it, touching the old scars

I found the key and opened up my heart

 I want to leave

So I won't hurt, so I won't stop

So I won't get tired no more

Will we meet at the end of this road?

It was late in the day, when the orange sun rays painted the small port town. Plants were freely overgrowing, spreading upon the worn-out walls of buildings and houses wherever. The petals of flowers rustled delicately in the gentle, salty, summer breeze of the island. At the dock was remained the boat that she had taken here, gently and barely noticeably, swinging on the motioning waves, it's calming sound hearable from a far distance. The girl had her hands clasped together pleadingly, begging the middle-aged woman for the unoccupied apartment above of her bakery. The word please left her lips for the hundredth time, brows bent and lips puckered into a pout. The owner of the Byun Baekry wore an incredibly skeptical look on her face, it was indeed an incredibly odd situation, given the fact that she knew everyone on this island-but her- she had never seen this girl before. No one had. She had appeared so out of the blue, carrying only a backpack and a small suitcase, and to her utter shock, had even pulled out big bunt of won bills, asking her if it would ever be temporarily enough for the apartment. Mrs.Byun was, to say the least, flabbergasted, she could never accept that much money from a young lady like her.

"I'm not sure miss, this is very sudden, no one has been in that room for a long time and it's not in the right state to be lived in." Mrs. Byun hesitated once more while the other one kept pleading as if her life depended on it, and really, it kind of did.

"I promise I will fix it all myself, no worries!" She insisted once more and with a sigh, Mrs. Byun finally gave in, although she had a million questions about the girl swimming in her head.

"I bet you don't have a job yet," The woman guessed, "We do in fact need an extra hand in the bakery. If you help out, you will be able to stay." Things were not completely established yet, but the girl was already happy that Mrs. Byun would let her stay at the condition that she helped in the bakery.

They came to an agreement that for today it would have been enough for her to clean the apartment for herself since her arrival had been very abrupt. As the owner showed her the way inside, she gave the girl an information flier about the work that she took enthusiastically without a second thought. Delight displayed all over the girls' face as she shook Mrs.Byun's hands furiously, immediately skipping to the entrance of the building and running up the stairs to the little room she would be staying in. When she entered the apartment, it was like everything she had been warned about, dusty and dirty, and yet she found herself smiling at the way it hadn't as bad as she had imagined.

Mrs.Byun had told her that she could find the necessary things for the cleaning of her room in a storing closet on the rooftop. So that was where she headed, her fingers itching with excitement, indeed, anyone would have said that she was way too excited for such a thing as cleaning. The girl was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by a rooftop that resembled a garden, although the walls, as well as the ground, were consumed and unkempt, the many pots of plants and flowers colored the environment so beautifully so that she couldn't help but note to herself to come and have breakfast at the little table next to the railing the next morning.

Finding the storing closet, she wasted no time in trying to get the much-needed utensils. Her hands clasped around the handle and attempted to open it, though it wouldn't budge, so she tried again but more forcefully. A huff left her lips when the doors wouldn't open, Mrs. Byun had certainly not mentioned that it would've caused such a hassle. The girl shook the handles and tried to open it in every thinkable way but didn't succeed. Until she gave one last pull- and to her surprise the closet door gave up and was swung open with great force, sending its content tumbling down on her, brooms hitting her forehead one after one as she yelped in shock and pain. Everything scattered around her loudly as she remained sitting on the ground, pitying herself and the new bruises on her skin with a pout on her lips. The girl hadn't given the fact she might not have been alone this rooftop a thought, so she was slightly surprised to find an alarmed boy heaving breaths in front of her with his frantic eyes scanning her figure.

She only deepened the pout on her lips, expecting the dark-haired boy to at least help her up, though, all he did was cross his arms on his chest, gaze hardening into a chilling glare. The icy blue color of his irises was so mesmerizing as she looked into them that she almost forgot about the way he was threatening her with his gaze solely.

"What." His eyes felt like winter, "Are you doing?" he deadpanned, voice low and hard, barely hearable. The frown creasing his forehead deepened while her pout intensified, frustration evidently buzzing through her veins.

"I'm going to clean! That's what I'm going to do!" She huffed out, barely catching on the slight eyebrow raise that the boy eyed her with. His face expression stayed vacant when he shrugged his broad shoulders and blankly turned around to leave.

"Hey! Won't you help me up?" She called after him, a wave of embarrassment and disappointment washing over her "Hey!" She called again, but the boy didn't make a single effort to listen to her and instead continued on his way,  disappearing down the same stairs that had led her there. The girl was left completely flabbergasted and irritated about his rude behavior. With a constant pout sporting on her lips, she picked herself and the brooms up while she mumbled incomprehensible curses about how rude he was to ignore a damsel in distress under her breath.

The fluffy mattress of her bed was warm and so was the simple white blanket draped all over her body. Through the half-broken blinds of the windows peeked the orange light of the rising sun, cicadas already singing in harmony with the birds. The uneasiness in her chest that she had gone to sleep with was still present as she awakened. Her eyes wandered around the room that was now to be called her home. The only thing that made her feel remotely familiar was the photo placed on the nightstand next to her mattress, three joyful faces smiling to the camera as they hugged each other, she was one of them in the picture. When looking at it, she thought she could still hear their laughs, their voices calling her name. They were to be something of the past now, but not true to herself, she couldn't help but recall the memory of them whenever she felt lonely. It was still as empty as it could be, she didn't own many things. She wondered if one day this room would come to look more like the word home, although she came here to start a new life, it still didn't feel like she belonged there.

On her skin were the burning scars that proved how she wasn't supposed to be where she was now, but she ignored them, wore long sleeves so that she wouldn't have to see them. Because her new life was on this island and she was going to make sure it was the best life she had ever lived. She was going to make sure it was nothing like her previous one.

Although the sun was scorching outside, there was an oversized pink sweater softening her features, contrasting to the summery jeans shorts hugging her milky legs. Between her fingers crumbled the paper that Mrs. Byun had ripped from the notice board of the bakery downstairs, on it was all the necessary information about her job as an apprentice.

Her feet dove into the old worn out Nike trainers and
