After we drank our smoothies Ryuki’s parents wanted him home so I was left alone with Sungyeol. We both decided to go shopping.

“So what are we shopping for?” I asked Sungyeol, since it was his idea to go shopping in the first place.

“Well I wanted to buy something for my sister. Her birthday is in a couple days. I figured maybe you would be willing to help me find something for her.” Sungyeol explained. I laughed. He seemed pretty sweet. I mean how many guys do you know would admit to buying their sister a gift?

“Well how about jewelry? You can’t ever go wrong with jewelry.” I suggested. He nodded.

“Good idea! My sister is a pretty girly girl so I can’t see her turning down anything sparkly or pink.” He commented. I laughed. It seems that he knew his sister pretty well.

“Well let’s go to a jewelry store!” I suggested. He smiled and nodded. He grabbed my hand and we were leaded in to a giant jewelry store. I was surprised at how many shiny things could be found in one location.

“So you take that side and I’ll take this side and we’ll meet up in the middle and see what we’ve found.” Sungyeol suggested. I nodded. Even though the store had lots of jewelry, I only found a few pieces that I really liked. I figured the best thing to get his sister would be a bracelet.

I walked over to the other side of the store and showed him the bracelets I found.

“What do you think?” I asked him. He smiled and nodded.

“I think they are nice. Which one do you like the best though?” he asked. I really didn’t understand why he would ask me that if he was looking for present for his sister, but I answered anyways.

“Personally I like the pink one the best. It’s simple yet shiny.” I said. He nodded and went up to the register to go pay. “Do you think your sister will like it?” I asked as we left the store. He merely chuckled.

“Well I know my sister will like what I got her.” He stated. I didn’t understand why he said it like that.

“Well she is going to like the bracelet right?” I asked, more directly this time. He smiled and handed me a small box. I looked at him questionably.

“Just open it,” He told me. I opened the box to find the bracelet.

“I don’t get it.” I said, taking out the bracelet. Sungyeol merely chuckled.

“The bracelet is for you. I got my sister something else that she really wanted. I just wanted you to find something you would like. Y’know to repay for saving my life,” Sungyeol confessed. I smiled at the gesture, but placed it back in the box and tried to hand it back to him.

“Sungyeol-ssi, thank you. This is very kind of you, but you really didn’t have to buy me a bracelet. You already bought me a smoothie.” I said. He smiled and pushed the box back at me.

“Look I wanted to get you the bracelet. If you won’t accept it for helping me, think of it as a gesture of friendship.” Sungyeol told me. I smiled and put the box in my bag.

“Thanks Sungyeol-ssi, but don’t go through the trouble to do anything else okay?” I told him. He merely chuckled at me.

“I promise I won’t under one condition,” He started. I looked over at him listening intently.

“And what would that be?” I asked.

“Call me oppa,” He told me, with a mischievous grin on. I groaned and chuckled.

“Fine oppa,” I replied. He smiled and poked my cheek.

“You’re so cute… I’m glad I got to meet you,” Sungyeol confessed. I rolled my eyes at him.

“I’m actually starting to think it wasn’t such a good idea to pull you away from traffic,” I joked, poking his side.

“Just because I wanted you to call me oppa doesn’t mean that it was a bad idea.” Sungyeol rebutted.

“If you say so,” I replied. We reached the corner of the street where we were supposed to depart. However, Sungyeol looked pretty stiff all of the sudden. “Oppa… is something wrong?” I asked, wondering what was with his sudden change in character.

“Um well… I wanted to ask you if I could… maybe have your number?” He asked, looking down at the ground, embarrassed.

“Sure…just give me yours too okay,” I said, handing him my phone so he could give me his number. After we exchanged numbers, we said our goodbyes and conveniently Mir called me.

“Hey where are you? I’m at your place and you’re not home.” Mir immediately said.

“Oh sorry I went to go get a smoothie I’ll be over in like 5 minutes,” I informed him.

“I’ll be counting,” He warned. I hung up my phone and just like he said, Mir was waiting for me.

“So where were you?” He questioned as he saw me approach him.

“I went to go get a smoothie with some friends,” I told him. He eyed me suspiciously.

“Friends being who,” He questioned. I sighed knowing I wouldn’t be able to get away from his questioning.

“My friend Ryuki and this guy whose life I saved today,” I confessed. However, I knew he was going to ask more about Sungyeol.

“How did that happen?” He asked. I explained to him the stop light incident. Mir seemed somewhat impressed. I also told him about our shopping trip.

“So you just met this guy and you two went shopping together?” He questioned. I nodded.

“He’s a really nice guy. Plus it was like I was destined to meet him. He was going to get a smoothie when I was too. I was going to see him anyways.” I commented. Mir merely rolled his eyes at me.

“Destined? I don’t know if I believe that you were destined to meet this guy, but enough about other people. How about we go grab something to eat?” He asked. I shrugged. I was feeling kind of hungry.

We decided to go and eat at the food stalls in town. I was excited to eat some deokbokki.

“Hey so I would be careful if I were you.” Mir started off a new conversation. I looked at him questionably.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Well Seungho has been worrying about you working too much. He told me that he was going to go visit the bakery late to make sure that you aren’t working too much. Then he went on a rant about how you need to focus on studying and working isn’t that important.” Mir informed me. I smiled over at him.

“Thanks for letting me know,” I started, “So now that I’m spending this time with you does that meant that you aren’t going to come around to annoy me?” I asked. He took a bite of deokbokki and looked over at me with a grin.

“Why are you going to miss me?” He asked. I shook my head.

“I’m just curious is all,” I stated. He shook his head and drank some tea that he had with him.

“Actually I think I like coming around to annoy you too much to just stop,” Mir told me, “I think I’ll come by anyways. That is if you don’t mind.” He finished looking over at me. I couldn’t help but feel my heart beat erratically at what he just told me. I couldn’t help but smile at him.

“No strings attached? I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing you around,” I replied, earning a chuckle from Mir. Then something in my bag caught his eye. Before I could figure out what caught his eye, I saw him taking out a familiar box out of my bag.

“What is this,” He said out loud.

“Um… it’s a gift that Sungyeol gave me,” I told him. Mir’s expression suddenly changed.

“Sungyeol huh…” He spoke. I nodded affirming what he said. From the tone of his voice I could tell that he didn’t like the fact that it came from Sungyeol. I couldn’t understand why he suddenly changed his tone, but the thing I couldn’t figure out the most was… why did I care so much about what Mir thought?
