Loving you

Salty and sweet

The air is cold as I leave the cafe and walk the drak streets with Jack. The winter has started but I wouldn't have thought that it would be this cold already. We silently walk along the road, stopping at the traffic light. And just as it turns green and I start walking I hear sobbing. The sobbing turns into stuttered apologies as we cross the street. The empty parkinglot is dimly lit as always and for a moment I stand still, just stop in my tracks. He keeps walking, his back slowly drifting away from me and somewhere inside I let go. I run the few little steps that seperate us and he faces me. Now here we are, sobbing into each others embrace and when I pull away a little it all just seems too perfect. But the shyness, the uncertainty, the fear of the what if is killing me. Though my body is fighting against me I stand on my toes and kiss him, seperating us with a gentle smile.

Today I walk home with someone I love,
