“It's ready, Pyeha” A subtle looking girl, who wore a simple hanbok, said and bowed down, not meeting the eyes of the man sitting on the throne. “You may leave” The man, with elegant robe and a fascinating shining small crown, stood up and made his way towards the end of the room. Kim Haneul, the current one to descend on the throne and the one loved by the whole Silla Kingdom, wasn't quite the lovable man as everyone thought. He was witty, clever and strong, and deserved the throne yet he was fearful of his own sons, thinking they might dethrone him due to various reasons. His three sons were quite competitive and always tried to put each other down, leading the King to ignore their matters. Thus, he always doted in his youngest child and only daughter, Kim Je-ni. “Father, I heard about it. Are you really going to execute that low life?” The youngest of the sons, Kim Seo Joon tailed his father. He was really handsome than his other two brothers, it maybe because he's still a teenager. “Yes, I heard about the whole situation. My Je-ni needs protection yet…I will have that maid see a dreadful death” Kim Haneul made his way to his daughter's chamber where there was a tight security, everyone knew the daughter was precious to the whole family. Well, not to exaggerate but the princess was a beauty. Beauty runs in the blood of the Kims. “Greetings, Pyeha” The head maid of the household bowed down. The King nodded and stepped inside the room without knocking, he had that authority. “Je-ni” He called once he saw his daughter writing something on a paper, looking elegant and rich like always. With her pastel rich hanbok, she looked up and greeted the King. “What brings you here, Father?” Je-ni stood up and stood beside Seo Joon, who had indeed followed the King all through the chambers. “I hope you are self aware of what will happen tomorrow.” King Haneul sharply looked at his daughter. Je-ni composed her face, nodded, “I am aware of the execution of Lisa which will be held tomorrow” “As expected of my smart sister” Seo Joon grinned, and Je-ni felt the need to stab her brother because he was a brat. “You cannot leave your chambers till tomorrow. That is an order from a King” “May I see her for the last time?” Je-ni asked, more like pleaded because she needed to see her. King Haneul moved closer to Je-ni, gripped her chin and looked closely towards her with a cold stare, “Je-ni, what did I say before? We all are birds, but only us are given wings to fly but those low lives…tell me who are they?” Je-ni’s heart frantically raced, slightly nervous because of the stare, she shuttered as she said, “They are birds with broken wings…they are meant to die” King Haneul smirked and freed his hands from Je-ni's chin , “Very well” With that said, he went out with Seo Joon, who patted his sister’s head lovingly. Je-ni heaved heavily and folded the letter she has been writing. She quickly gave it to one of her maids, and whispered, “Head to Baekje Kingdom and give this letter to Princess Ji-su, let no one see you. Hand it to no one else other than Princess Ji-su.” The maid nodded and hid the letter underneath her dress, and quickly headed out to Baekje as ordered. Now that was settled, Je-ni had to see Lisa. She felt guilty as she was to blame for the whole execution plan, being the princess she had to be aware of her actions, but with Lisa it was different. She could go all the way out for Lisa, a mere and parentless maid in the Kingdom. Je-ni had became attached to her, which led to that night where she had unconsciously kissed Lisa out on the court. Her action made a huge issue as someone saw them, and then next day Lisa was imprisoned… It was weird to feel something with a girl, especially a maid…she tried to sort out her strange feelings that arose whenever Lisa was near, yet she couldn't…she always fell into her eyes. She had to save Lisa, and there was only one way. “I want your help” Je-ni said to the head King’s Guard. “Princess,” The King’s Guard bowed down. “I want you to help me set Lisa free” Je-ni voiced out her order. The King's guard looked her horribly, “I can't do that, Princess. I cannot disobey the King’s word and loyalty” “You are loyal to this Kingdom too and I am the princess, I will face the consequences if I get caught, but I need to go meet her. You will help me set her free.” “I really can't do it, Princess” Je-ni held his arms and said with shaky voice, “Please, help me…otherwise I will kill myself. I need to see her.” The king's guard hesitated because he couldn't betray the King, but he nodded to give in for Je-ni’s demand, she was the princess after all.
