NakJin Coffee Shop AU

Entering college as a freshman never really worried Yujin that much. Considering how she was one of the smarter students back in her old 
school while also being a star player in ther basketball team. She was very confident in her ability to handle the workload that would come
from entering college. 

Never has she eaten eaten those words until now. It was the dreaded exam week for her school in Greenfield High University in Seoul, and
she was swamped beyond what the human imagination could ever imagine. Okay, maybe she was overexaggerating a bit to compensate for the fact
she was taking an "extended" break after studying Algebra for a upcoming test and doing her Chemistry lab report that's due the next day.

In a defeated sigh, Yujin stands from her desk and plops face down on her bed dreading the week to follow.

"I swear to all things good in this world if this keeps up I'm going to be bald before reaching the age of 18... oh god please don't let me
go bald. I swear I'm too young and pretty to go bald."

While Yujin was having an existential crisis about her going bald her roommate and long time friend Wonyoung barged in to her room calling
for Yujin in her iconic baby voice that could only mean she wanted something from Yujin.

"Yujinniieeeeee, I love love love you" Wonyoung says as she jumps Yujin in her bed.

"Please let Wonyoung go bald instead" Yujin says under her ragged breath as Wonyoung proceeds to unnowingly suffocate her roommate.

"YAH! How dare you say that to your best friend that you love with your entire heart" Wonyoung says as she removes herself from Yujin's 
bed while pouting. 

"Wonyoung please I'm dying so if you want something please tell me before I burst another nerve" 

"Hmph fine ignore my affection.... Anywho can you go out and get me coffee and a muffin from Le'blanc coffee near our apartment?" 

And as quick as that Wonyoung's baby voice disappeared and is replace by a more demanding tone which is what Yujin was accustomed to after 
spending over 8 years with her quote on quote "bestest friend in the whole wide world"

"Really? All that just so you can ask me to buy you something? Can't you do it yourself? I'm not sure if you can see but I'm kinda busy and
before you say anything about me lying down on my bed. I was taking a break before my eyes explodes from staring at numbers and letters" 

"Ew gross, if your eyes do explode please do it somewhere else. I hate to clean up after you" Wonyoung says disgusted by the thought of 
her roommate's eyes exploding.

"I don't think that's the main issue he-" before Yujin could finish Wonyoung cuts her off.

"Come onnnnnnnnn!! You still owe me for bailing your from that wack date you had with that guy from Engineering. May I remind you
I had cancel my plans with my goddess Eunbi for you" Wonyoung reminds her Yujin for the nth time. Yujin recalls that date being absolutely
horrendous. Her date was a complete tool who didn't understand the atmosphere and was more focus on getting his crudy lips on her. 

The thought of that date still sends shivers down Yujin's spine and hoped to never experience something like that again. She was definitely
grateful for Wonyoung's help but she swears this girl can never let that horrible experience down especially since Wonyoung had to cancel
her so called "date" with Eunbi-sunbae, an upperclassmen who by Wonyoung's word was a goddess reincarnate. 

It was almost adorable to see Wonyoung fawn over their sunbae, literal hearts could be seen in Wonyoung's eyes whenever Eunbi is brought up.
That girl was the definition of whipped but sometimes her love for their sunbae was a bit... too much at times. 

How too much?? Well for example having an entire photo album of photos of her and Eunbi going on their so called "dates" which Yujin honestly
thinks is more so like a mother bringing her child out to a mall. Honestly, she didn't mind it though, Eunbi was a sweet, caring, smart, and
honest person. She knew Eunbi would make a great partner for Wonyoung and she would hope that one of these days they could actually be a thing.

Although she dreads the thought of Wonyoung bring Eunbi over. Going home to those two being sickingly sweet on the couch watching whatever
crappy romance movie Wonyoung found while browsing netflix. Yujin shudders at that thought already depressed at the fact she still can't find
anyone to fall in love with.

Lost in her own thoughts, Yujin only realized Wonyoung was still talking up a storm that she couldn't possibly careless 
to pay attention to. 

"I mean seriously, you going out can also help rid your mind of whatever you're stressing over. In that sense, me asking you to go out 
to buy me food and drinks is actually helping you. Aren't you glad not only you have a goddess for a roommate but a compasionate and loving
one als-" Before Wonyoung could end her sentence a pillow comes flying and decking her in the face as Yujin scoofs at whatever self-praise
her roommate was preaching.

Although what Wonyoung said about taking her mind off her test and projects for the mean time did sound appealing. She did need a pick-me-upper
after slugging through her notes and worksheets. She sighed, she shooed the furious Wonyoung away from her room saying she'll get her the
drink and food she wanted and even offered to pay for it as a way to calm the beast from ranting about damaging her precious face and how
Eunbi-sunbae might hate her.

She decided to get dressed a bit, deeming her pjs to be not suitable for walking outside in public. Bah society and social norms she was 
forced to follow. Yujin decided to wear a simple white tee paired with denim shorts since the weather was not suitable for a hoodie which
she would have preferred to wear.

She grabbed her bag, wallet, and phone before heading out not forgetting to say goodbye to Wonyoung since Wonyoung for some reason gets 
upset whenever Yujin forgets to inform her that she's leaving the apartment. 

Yujin and Wonyoung's apartment complex was situated not too far away from their school which was a miracle since almost every good apartment
complex near their school was full or too expensive for the duo. Aside from the close proximity the complex was also blessed to be located
near convenience stores, restaurant, grocery stores, cafes, and even some entertainment stores such as arcades and such. In addition, to that
their complex was also owned by a sweet couple named Seulgi and Irene. The duo was quite surprise to see the complex to be owned by two girls
especially not a couple. 

Nevertheless, they were happy to see that couple were kind enough to let them stay in the complex for a reasonable price as well. They 
learned that the couple were married for almost 15 years and were in their mid 40s. Though if you would look at them in person, you'd be surprise
if their age were past 25. They looked unbelievable beautiful and youthful. The first time the duo met the couple they couldn't believe it
which the couple responded with laugh and saying it was true, even going through the trouble of showing their marriage certificate. 

Yujin chuckles at the memory, reminiscing about how carefree things were before school started. She and Wonyoung would go out regularly to 
explore the area. Finding cheap restaurants to eat in, locating all possible locations that would sell their favorite snacks and drinks, and
looking for a cafe that they could spend countless hours chatting or studying. Le'blanc was that coffee shop. 

Le'blanc was a small cafe located in an alleyway which was at most a 5-10 minute walk from where their apartment complex was located. 
They first discovered it when they were trying to find a coffee shop with not a lot of people in it but had a comfortable atmosphere.
A pretty tall order but she's grateful they found it. The shop was owned by a sweet old man. The cafe had a long table near the area where
the old man makes traditional pourover coffee. The oldman was definitely passionate about coffee, she could remember him teaching her and
Wonyoung about different bean types and flavors they possess which normally would be boring for the both of them but the excitement
and passion the old man had for it was more than enough to keep them interested.

She felt grateful for that coffee shop and old man, she could remember the countless days she spends inside the coffee shop relaxing or 
studying without any interference. It was a safe place she knew she could go back to again and again whenever she felt tired or stress.
She kinda felt guilty since the old man usually gave her free drinks and food whenever she comes. She insisted paying but the old man
reasoned out that he was more than happy enough to give them free drinks and food since they were regulars and because she and Wonyoung
reminded him of his grandchildren. 

Yujin smiles at the thought that even by just going there she and Wonyoung could provide that old man some form of happiness especially
at his age. 

Unknowingly as Yujin continued to be lost in her own thought, she arrived at the said coffee shop. She enters the shop expecting to hear 
the old man greet her as always but instead she was greated by an empty shop with only the faint sounds from the TV perched up on the wall
could be heard.

She was confused to see the shop empty, she saw the sign said open and the coffee shop might not be as popular as other cafes in the area
but there would usually still be 1 or 2 customers lounging in the area talking to the old man. Speaking of which, where is the old man?
Even if there was no one around in the shop, the old man would still be here doing something. 

Yujin was about to panic thinking something bad might have happened to the old man until she heard a soft voice come out from the back of 
the shop welcoming her.

Yujin snaps out of her trance to see a small and extremely beautiful girl standing behind the counter where the old man usually stands. 

"Hi! I'm sorry for taking a long time to get to you. I was busy fixing stocks out back. Hope you didn't wait too long" the small girl says
with an apologetic but equally beautiful and bright smile.

Yujin was undeniably shocked for two major reasons:
1) She was brought out of her trance by a voice seemmingly coming from nowhere 
2) The voice came from from arguably one of the prettiest and smallest girl she has ever seen in her life

Yujin was still motionless even after the petite girl called her again. Until finally the petite girl decided to approach Yujin and 
shook Yujin's arm. 

"Miss?? Are you okay? You seemed kinda lost for a while there? Do you need to take a seat or maybe drink a glass of water?" the petite girl
says as she meets Yujin's eyes and Yujin swears she has never seen so much care and worry in a person's eye before.

Before making an even bigger fool of herself more than she already did, Yujin snaps out of her trance and responds to the girl before her.

"I-i-I uh. I'm sorry I was honestly surprised to see the old man who owned the place to not be here and even more to see someone other than
an old man behind the counter" Yujin tried her best to speak properly without stuttering but the fact she was caught by an ange- by a pretty
girl spacing out and the fact said pretty girl still had her soft hand holding her right arm proved quite difficult.

The girl in front of her sighs in relief as she removes her hand from Yujin's arm which Yujin may or may not already miss the feeling. 

"I see. I was worried that you were experiencing an attack of some sorts. I'm sorry for assuming that. Why don't you take a seat and I'll 
explain and by the way my name Nako" The girl smiles once more towards Yujin.

Nako... Nako... Yujin swears she has never heard a more beautiful name in her life and that smile. She swears Nako's smile alone 
can short circuit her already crispy fried brain. "I-I'm Yujin" Yujin barely stutters out as she takesa seat as suggested by Nako.

"Nice to meet you Yujin-sshi! You might be wondering where that old man is. Well he was recently invited by his grandchildren to spend 
time with them in their hometown. He was ecstatic to go meet his grandchildren again but he refused to close the shop down even when he's 
gone since he would feel bad leaving his regulars without a place to get coffee and relax. This is where I came along, I was looking for a 
part-time job since I needed some additional cash for college so I came across this small coffee shop last week and inquired here. At the 
time the old man wasn't really looking for any help but he said he'll keep my numbner just in case so when he had to leave he contacted me
and asked if I could handle the shop for a while. Considering I had pretty good background knowledge and skills in coffee brewing and 
cooking he was more than willing to trust the shop to me." Nako explained

Yujin thought it definitely sounded something the old man would do. He genuinely loved his customers and made sure they only received 
the best when they're here. It warms her heart knowing the old man is finally spending time with his granchildren. 

After that thought Yujin has come to the terrible realization that she was now in a very troublesome situation, specifically she's alone 
with an extremely pretty girl who she can't speak to without stuttering.

Yujin admits that she always had the sneaking suspicion she was more interested in girls than guys, especially after that horrible dating
experience she had with that engineering student. 

That sneaking suspicion is now only getting more and more factual as she seats here in front of a literal angel. 

"Oh crap" Yujin thought as she realized she forgot to repsond back to Nako. "Double crap" Yujin thought as she realized that she was staring
at Nako for God knows how long. 

"Sh- I-I m-mean no!. I didn't mean that.." Yujin lets out a long deafeted sigh

"I'm sorry, I'm quite tired and I tend to space out a lot" Yujin reasons out which is not entirely false. Besides the fact that she was 
panicking,  she was exhausted from studying and doing projects that her brain is barely functioning at the moment. 

Yujin expected Nako to be weirded out by her continous antics but all she received was soft laughter that she swears could be considered
classical music orchestrated by the heavens themselves. Okay Yujin calm you gay down and don't accidentally say something that will 
make the situation worse than it already is.

Yujin stares at Nako's face and she swears her heart is skipping multiple beats, wait no... she might be dead if that's the case but whatever
if she died here right there and now. She would be fine, staring at a face of an angel while her soft and angelic laughter wraps her tired
and drained body. 

While Yujin was lost admiring the girl in front of her Nako finally calmed down and stopped laughing. "I'm sorry for laughing so much Yujin-shi
but your flustered speech and face was really funny and cute. I'm sorry if that was rude of me" Nako says while smiling apologetically.

"NO NO NO NO DON'T SAY SORRY!" Yujin screams suddenly but immediately calming down afterwards, fearing that she might scare the girl in front of her.
"With all the things you had to deal with since the second I stepped in here. I feel better that you're not annoyed by me" Yujin scratches
her nape while looking down. 

"I can't believe she just called me cute!! Does she even see herself???? I swear compared to her I look like a melted doll especially
with my eye bags and messy hair" Yujin says trying to avoid the gaze of the girl in front of her while trying to calm her heart down.
She swears simple words like this usually never affect her but coming from this girl. She can't help but feel warm and happy. 

Something about Nako's words and actions seemed genuine to Yujin. She's an outgoing person so she learned to guess peoeple's intention
after talking and meeting several people already. She can quickly tell if someone has other intentions than getting close or understand
their intention to why they would approach her. With Nako, she only felt sincerity. No malice, no annoyance, and no ill intent. Just pure
sincerity.

Yujin without realizing was lost at thought again and was soon brought back to reality by the smell of coffee being made and something odd.
It smelled foreign, something about the smell felt like a spice garden. The more Yujin smelled it, a clearer picture formed in her mind.
Then it hit Yujin it was the smell of curry, one of her favorite meals. 

"C-curry?" Yujin says, catching the attention of Nako. "Yeah it is! You have a good sense of smell. I was just cooking curry before you 
came and it's about done. Sorry for not breaking you out of your trance but I decided to make you a cup of coffee to help revitilize your mind"
Nako says while preparing a cup and saucer for the coffee she was making.

"And also don't worry about having to pay for this. It's on me, take it as an apology for laughing at you a while ago" 

"B-but" Before Yujin could speak further Nako interrupts 

"Before you say anything about being okay with paying for it. I insist. I would feel bad if I didn't do anything for you especially after
laughing at you for being tired. So can you please allow me to treat you? Pretty pwease~" Nako suddenly says in a cute sing-song voice
and Yujin swears she had a heart attack right there and there.

"THIS FREAKING GIRL IS DANGEROUS SHE WAS SERIOUS ONE MOMENT AND NOW SHE'S BEING SUPER CUTE. IN ADDITION TO THAT SHE'S SUPER ATTRACTIVE AS WELL"
Yujin screams within the confines of her mind, hoping not a single thought will come in vocal form.

In a defeated sigh Yujin agrees much to Nako's delight as she beams at Yujin with another heavenly smile. 

"Feel free to take a short nap. I'll wake you up once it's ready" Nako suggest which Yujin usually would refuse but with how things went
a while ago. She was pretty sure she would end up having another heart attack so she takes the easier way out and agree to what Nako said.

Resting her head on the counter she allows her eyes to close and let sleep take her. 

Nako stares at the sleeping figure before her. "Cute hehe" Nako remarks as she continues fixing the drink

A few minutes later Yujin was awaken from a dream about a specific girl she recently met. She was awoken by the soft and sweet voice she 
has quickly fallen in love with and the smell of aromatic coffee and.... curry? 

Yujin was surprise to see the smell she was smelling a while to be right in front of her accompanied by an aromatic cup of coffee which
she swears smells almost better than the coffee the old man makes and his coffee was godlike. 

"Curry?" Yujin questions again 

"Yeah curry!!" Nako appears from the back once more wiping her hands fresh from cleaning plates. "I was finished a bit earlier but decided
to let you sleep a bit more. It looked like you were having a good dream" Nako chuckles

Little do Nako know the subject of that good dream Yujin had was her. Yujin blushes but decides to ask again why did Nako prepare curry

"Curry goes surprisingly well with coffee! I discovered it a while back during my freshman years. Also sorry for not asking you
what type of coffee you want. I decided to make one I felt fits best with the curry" 

"Oh that's no problem at all! W-wait freshman year? What year are you in now?" Yujin asks

"Oh I'm a sophomore in college now" 

"WAIT. YOU'RE OLDER THAN ME?" Yujin says, rising from her seat. Clearly shocked that the smaller girl in front of her was older than her

"Are you saying I look young because of my height?" Nako says while pouting

"N-no wait I'm sorry I didn't mean that please forgive me! I ju-just-I mean y-ou now" Yujin says desperately not wanting to offend Nako

"Hahahaha, I'm kidding Yujin-shi. I can't help but tease you. You set yourself up too much" Nako says in between laughs

Yujin dumbfounded slides back down her chair, wanting the world to swallow her whole. She has managed to embarassed herself in front of
a pretty girl over 5 times in the spand of less than a hour. 

"I'm sorry Yujin hahaha, you're really cute and funny when you get teased. You better eat your meal before it gets cold" Nako suggest,
with a slight hint of teasing behind her voice 

Yujin stutters out a yes and digs in and by god Yujin was amazed by how good the curry was. The spice blend was amazing, it felt like
going through a spice garden. Having every different smell and taste hit you, making a perfect symphony of flavor. In addition to that,
the coffee she made was perfect. The flavor was soft and soothing, that perfectly complements the stronger flavor of the curry. It was
simply a matchmade in heaven. 

"T-this is amazing! The curry taste amazing and the coffee rivals the one the old man makes. How do you do it?" Yujin was astonished

"Thanks Yujin! It was simply trial and error. Eventually I found the combination I liked the most and kept it" Nako said with a slight
tint of red on her cheeks.

"I can't even describe how amazing this is. Who ever dates in the future will be so lucky" Yujin says absentmindedly

"Are you offering?" Nako says with a smirk while positioning herself in front of Yujin

Yujin chokes at the reply to the point she can't stop coughing

Nako panics and quickly rushes to give Yujin water, urging Yujin to drink as she pats and rubs Yujin's back to calm her down

"hah hah hah. God I thought I was going to die" Yujin pants heavily, finally being able to swallow the food she choked on.

"Oh my God Yujin. I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you would choke after that" Nako says, relief that Yujin stopped choking

"How could I?! That came out of no where" Yujin accuses

"Well to be fair you set yourself up to that and beside it felt like you were offering but I'm still sorry! That's twice now that
I teased you. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?" Nako says.

Yujin had it enough with Nako teasing and decided to be a bit more confident. She wasn't going to let herself be outdone by Nako and besides
this was the perfect set-up for her.

"Then, how about go on a date with me?" Yujin says confidently as she finally took up the courage to face Nako directly.

Every confident bone in Yujin's body suddenly turned soft as what followed completely blew out her expectations.

She thought Nako would stutter and be flustered by her question but instead... Nako takes a step closer and proceed to wrap her arms around
Yujin. Ignoring the fact she was smaller and resting her head on Yujin's chest.

"Thought you never asked hehe" Nako says teasingly as she burries herself deeper into Yujin's chest. Enjoying the reaction she elicited from
Yujin

"I-I-I-I-I" Yujin's mind is completely shutting down. 

Nako removes herself from Yujin, fearing she might have broken the girl again with her actions. 

"Earth to Yujin?? Please don't die before we even have our first date" Nako says as she shakes Yujin's arm once again

Yujin snaps back to reality, staring at the girl in front of her for the nth time admiring her beauty before deciding to seat down again
to calm herself from that attack Nako launched at her.

"You're unbelievable Nako..." Yujin says cleary tired from this entire ordeal but still extremely happy Nako said yes. Her heart was still
racing from the hug. The hug was soft and warm, she felt safe and comfortable. Feeling Nako's body against her sent body into flames but
flames that didn't burn. Flames that showered her with comfort and sincerity. She loved it and hoped to experience that more.

"Getting close aren't we? I'm still older than you Yujin-ah" Nako teases

"A-h sorry.. I mean Nako-unnie" Yujin says blushing even harder than before at the thought of calling Nako unnie.

"There we go! I hope you don't mind calling me unnie. I liked being called unnie. Especially by a cute girl like You Yujinie" Nako teases
with a smirk.

Yujin gulps, terrified by how fast Nako changes from  being cute to being extremely attractive.

"A-anyway, do you mind giving me your number? To contact you of course!! For our date" Yujin shyly asks, she can't believe how much
an effect Nako has on her. She's typically very confident person but with Nako she melts in to a puddle but she doesn't mind it one bit.

"Of course! Give me your phone" 

Yujin offers Nako her phone and fixes her things remembering that she still had a project due tomorrow, not knowing Nako had a little 
surprise for her waiting in her phone.

"Thank you again for the food and coffee, it was amazing. I'm really looking forward to our d-date" Yujin says with a shy smile, obviously
happy with the fact she and Nako will meet again

Nako seeing Yujin's soft smile warms her heart. Yujin was really too cute for her own good. It made Nako feel warm and fluffy inside.
Something in her wanted to protect and pamper this girl so much but at the same time and watch her cute reactions.

When she saw this girl standing in the shop lost in thought, she felt something  differentabout this girl. She wanted to know more about 
her, not necessarily as lovers but seeing how cute she Yujin was when she gets flustered. Being lovers eventually doesn't like a bad idea 
at all. Not at all as Nako stares at Yujin's perfectly sculpted face and perfectly toned body. Not only that but Yujin was fun to be around,
she had this aura that made her lovable. 

"No problem at all! I'm sorry again for teasing and laughing at you several times. I hope I didn't offend you in any way. I quite enjoyed
my time with you today and I mean that" Nako said while giving Yujin another bright and sincere smile.

"S-same here. I guess I should be going now. I kinda still have projects due tomorrow hehe" Yujin says while scratching her nape knowing
that she'll have to work herself to death once again to finish her report but she doesn't mind. She spent time with a beutiful small goddess
and scored a date with her. 

"Don't overwork yourself too hard alright? Goodbye Yujin, get home safely and I'm looking forward to see you again" Nako waves Yujin off.

"Yeah I promise! I promise to send you my contact details later when I get home!" Yujin waves back, making sure Nako goes back inside the
coffee shop before finally leaving... not without having the goofiest and biggest smile on her voice though.

As Yujin was nearing her apartment complex she decided to bring out her phone and text her contact details and inform her that she got home
safely. 

Yujin opens her phone, scrolling down her contacts finally reaching Nako's name. As she clicked Nako's contact number, she was surprised
to see a photo pop-out. Specifically, a selfie from Nako, an extremely adorable and pretty one at that. 

After seeing that, Yujin simply smiled once more. The warm fuzzy feeling she had a while ago returning. Yujin stares at the sky, excited for
what is to come in her life now that she met Nako. She smiles and proceeds into the apartment thinking that maybe her college years won't
end up too badly at all.

Bonus:
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU FORGOT MY DRINK AND MUFFIN? YOU WERE OUT FOR LIKE 2 HOURS. WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?" Wonyoung screams at
Yujin obviously annoyed and angry at Yujin for forggeting her order.

Yujin knew Wonyoung would try speculating reasons why she took so long and why she forgot her order but she'll deal with it. 

She knew Wonyoung will never live this down but she doesn't really care. She has a date with an angel and nothing could possibly bring down
her mood.

"THAT'S IT I'M GOING TO MAKE YOUR WEEK A LIVING HELL!" Wonyoung exclaims 

Yujin just laughs knowing this will blow over after 2-3 days or even earlier if she brings home her favorite ice cream and maybe bring
Eunbi along also.
