Remember

Wedding Ring

A cold breeze greeted my bare skin, leaving kisses of bumps as it passes. The trees and the rustling noises of the leaves beneath my feet tell me that indeed fall is here once again, meaning another year has passed since the love of my life got married. Strolling in this desolated park reminded me of our first meeting. Thinking back, I smiled by the thought of how I never really agreed with the term 'love at first sight'. I found it to be such preposterous claim. I mean how can one fall in love with a stranger nonetheless just by looking at their eyes. It was something that was just so hard to comprehend, but this was all before you appeared. The first time my eyes met yours, I knew then that my belief has changed.

I kept on walking until I reached the fountain of the park. And just like our first meeting, there you were standing in front of the cascading waters looking more beautiful than you have ever been. The unceasing heavy pounding of my heart along with my hitched breath were nothing more but proof that you still held me captive after all this time. I continue to admire your ethereal existence until my body was just right next to yours. You turned and were surprised to see me, but you still gave me a smile nevertheless as did I in return. No words were needed between us. Silence was our friend this time. My gaze shifted to your left hand where your wedding ring resides. You took notice of my action and showed me your softest expression. How my heart swells for you, only I could truly know.

Our moment lasted until 'he' arrived. Your eyes spoke to me, telling me it is time for you to go. I could only nod and watch as your figure slowly goes to him. The brightness of the sun compares none to that reflected by your aura now that he is here. The joy he gives you is something I can never offer. I learned to embrace it because he makes you happy in ways I never did. You are making your way back towards me while he holds your hand and I could never be more glad. The white gold band on my left hand shines gleamingly as I wave at both of you. He then sees me and runs at my direction while screaming 'mommy'. I chuckled and open my arms wide enough to receive his embrace. You looked at me with a loving stare and mouthed 'I love you Taeyeon'. At that precious moment, I realized how undeniably blessed I sure am to have married and have a family with my love at first sight.

My wife, My love, My Tiffany.
