Social media—the bane of one’s existence to some, but a means of escape to many. Here at Spotlight, social media is what drives us. Here is where you will begin as an aspiring social media star or an actual social media star, making all types of content posts (on youtube, tumblr, etc).

Character wise, this is an OC AU RP, meaning you have the creative liberty to do anything or be anything with the faceclaim you choose. Only things to note about this though is that you'll be living in the city of Los Angeles with other content creators in an apartment complex. Other than that, you have the freedom to do whatever you wish with your character. Want to be a mukbang star? You can! Want to be a scandalous beauty guru? Go ahead! The possibilities are endless.

— General Rules

1. Subscribe to the thread. Upvoting is not required of you, but is much appreciated!

2. This is an oc au rp. What does that mean? Basically, you still claim your faceclaim, but you have to build their background, personality, and what have you from scratch. We'll give you 72 hours (3 days) to create a profile for your character. It can be as thorough as you'd like.

3. This is a closed roleplay and you are only allowed to interact with people in this roleplay.

4. Character reservations last up to 48 hours before your desired muse is up for grabs again. We only allow one account per person.

5. If you wish to leave the roleplay, inform the base account or pm the aff. Failure to do so will result in you being blocked by the base. Please also do not delete without telling us.

— Roleplaying Rules

1. We aim to be a semi-literate to literate roleplay. There should be no emojis or text talk save for in sns posts and content posts where appropriate. Actual threads mustn't include emojis and the like.

2. You are required to post a content post at least once a week. What is a content post? Well, depending on your specific social media outlet, you'll be required to perform little tasks specific to which type of social occupation you have. Again, this will only be required of you once a week, but you're welcome to do more than that.

3. In character drama and posts are allowed. Just be sure you a) keep it in designated zones (ie: in the group/in pms), b) make sure to include trigger warnings for certain things (ie: violence and drug use) when appropriate, and c) have your partner's consent. It is not recommended that you include triggering topics in your public threads.

4. No metagaming or godmodding, please. Don't ruin your partner's roleplaying experience.

— Muse Rules

1. We will accept any person from anywhere of any orientation so long as they are alive and so long as they were born in the year 2000 or earlier. You may modify their age either way by 5 years maximum.

— Account Rules

1. Content posts are to be posted in the content group. Any public threads and self-paras are to be done in their designated groups. Private threads are private threads and it's up to you how you want to do them.

2. Aside from posting a content post once a week, you are required to post sns posts at least twice a week. Profile updates will not count as being active.

3. If you want to go on hiatus or semi-hiatus, inform the base account. Hiatuses can last up to one month and semi-hiatuses can last up to two weeks. If you wish to be on semi-hiatus, you are required to post at least one sns post a week.

4. You are allowed to cc all you want, but you may only do so once every three weeks. We do not do temporary character changes. You decide who you want to be and stick with it for three weeks.

1. There is a one week dating ban. Moving couples are allowed, just make sure you state so when you go to apply.

2. Marriage and pregnancy (no mpreg) are allowed after 3 weeks of dating. Inform the base account of either before you go off and do them.
