It was like any typical night at Red Velvet's dorm. Everyone had just finished eating dinner not so long ago, and were off doing their own things. Joy and Yeri were sitting in the living room watching dramas together. Seungwan was catching up on her baking. The resident married couple, however Seulgi and Joohyun. They sounded as if they were arguing about something, loudly.

 

"Oh . Are they fighting?" Joy is the first to wonder.

 

The couple had slight arguments from time to time, but nothing that ever warranted for the rest of the members to intervene.

 

"Let's go see if they're okay." Seungwan tells them.

 

"Yea, but if they're actually fighting I'm betting on Joohyun -unnie to come out on top." Joy makes the bold statement.

 

"Hey, Seulgi-unnie could win." Yeri starts. "I mean, if she maneuvers her body right, that is."

 

When they get to the couple's room they can hear words more clearly now.

 

"Seulrene!" That was Seulgi's voice.

 

"Reneseul!" Joohyun says next.

 

"Seulrene!"

 

"Reneseul!"

 

"What are you two fighting about? Seungwan asks them first, although it sounds like they’re arguing about their ship name.

 

"Oh, hey guys." Seulgi smiles when she notices them. "Hyunnie and I are just discussing what our official ship name should be."

 

"Really?" The other members look surprised.

 

"Yes, and Seul, babe it should clearly be Reneseul. It just sounds better, and makes the most sense.” The dark-haired leader tells her other half.

 

"No, babe." Seulgi also says a little too cheery. "Seulrene is what they call us, and it really sounds much better than Reneseul, so it should obviously be Seulrene."

 

Joohyun shakes her head in disagreement. Then lightly pats Seulgi's cheek. "You never listen to me, baby. It should be Reneseul."

 

"Seulrene!"

 

"Reneseul!"

 

"Seulrene!"

 

"Okay, this is enough you two. Why are you even fighting about this?" the taller member asks them. It sounds just ridiculous to Joy why they’re fighting about something like ship names, and she honestly would have never expected this from Seulgi and Joohyun.

 

"Yea. We don't want our favorite married couple to end up divorced over this." The youngest tells the couple.

 

"I don’t understand why you’re fighting about this?" Seungwan shakes her head. Surely, the couple could find anything else to discuss.

 

"Yeah, well I’m just trying to prove a point to my dearest, bear.” Joohyun, again sounds in a way that doesn’t sound very sweet at all. “Reneseul sounds much better."

 

"Hyunni, baby. I’m sorry to say this to you, but Seulrene is what they call us, and so it’s going to stay!."

 

 

The shorter of the two frowns. She really likes Reneseul for their ship name. It just sounds better and makes more sense. Seulgi isn't wrong, as the Seulrene ship name is clearly what the people prefer.

 

"Why are you two even arguing about this? You're already a couple. What does it matter what the ship name is?"

 

"Please, Seungwan. My pride is on the line here." Joohyun states. “What do you guys think?" The leader decides to ask their friends what their opinions are on the matter.

 

"Yea." Seulgi nods. "Seulrene or Reneseul?"

 

The other members look at them like they are being totally ridiculous. But what else can they really expect from their resident married couple.

 

"Well," Joy thoughtfully begins. "It's true that this is a really important question, only not really because who the hell even cares when Joyri tops either of those."

 

"Yes!" Yeri agrees and high fives the taller girl. "Joyri rules over you all."

 

"Forget it. We don't care about your ship name, when it's just that one." Joohyun tells the younger ones.

 

"Hey," The two maknaes speak offended. They care, because obviously Joyri is the one that matters the absolute most.

 

"Seulgi and I actually have two options to consider. Seungwan, what do you think?"

 

Seungwan thinks carefully. Those are both legit ship names and it could honestly go either way. "Well, to be honest, Wenseul is always on the rise."

 

Joohyun looks instantly betrayed and both younger girls crack up in laughter.

 

"Come on, you have to take this seriously. I’m only interested in real ships." Joohyun complains as fans seem to have really taking a liking to pairing her girlfriend with everyone under the sun. It gets annoying really fast because Seulgi is her girlfriend. Her teddy bear only. There will be no such thing as a Wenseul, Seulri, or Joygi allowed in her mind. There is only she and Seulgi, and that’s all she will ever know.

 

"Wenseul, Wenseul." The evil maknaes tease, only making it worse. Joohyun groans loudly and Seulgi gently pats her thigh.

 

"It's okay, Hyun. We both know Seulrene is in reality the most powerful ship."

 

Joohyun smiles then whispers. "Reneseul is, baby."

 

"Seulrene!"

 

"Reneseul!"

 

"Enough, this is so stupid. I just told you that Joyri wins over all of your weaker ships." Joy again makes the announcement that no one asked for.

 

"That's irrelevant." Seungwan tells them. "They seriously want help with their ship name, so I'm going to just say Seulrene."

 

"Yes! Thank you, Wan." Seulgi thanks her, as she could naturally count on her best friend.

 

"Yea. Goodnight, this was really stupid honestly." She leaves first to continue with her most beloved hobby and keep baking, at least that will keep her sane.

 

"Well. I do like Reneseul or you guys." Joy admits. "We all know that Joohyun-unnie owns the relationship."

 

Both Seulgi and Joohyun blush furiously at that. "Hey, how do you know that I don't own the relationship.”

 

"Please, unnie it's you." Joy cracks up in loud laughter.

 

"Joy-unnie, that's not nice. With the way Joohyun-unnie always dotes on Seulgi-unnie clearly she's the boss of their relationship." Yeri actually defends Seulgi and it really surprised all of them.

 

"Hey, I...." Joohyun does want to deny this, but she can't. Because she definitely does dote on her bear-like girlfriend, yes she does care for all the members. Her level of care for her, girlfriend/BFF/roommate is on an entirely different level, and everyone knows it.

 

"That's because she's a good wife right, unnie?"

 

"Of course she is." The brunette admits with no hesitation, and that makes Joohyun blush furiously. She is used to this teasing about being married to Seulgi, or being called her wife. However, when her actual girlfriend says it, it gives her all sorts of warm feelings inside, and she just really loves her adorable, y bear so much.

 

"Well I vote for Seulrene.” Yeri casts the all important vote.

 

"There you have it, unnies. Two votes for Seulrene , one vote for Reneseul. Goodnight, okay. Don't break up over this." Joy waves then leaves, because she’s had enough of the nonsense.

 

"Yah! We wouldn't break up over this." The couple complain together, because this isn’t anything to break them up over.

 

"Of course not. If our married couple can't survive, then none of us can." Yeri laughs. "Goodnight, unnies."

 

Joohyun and Seulgi do say goodnight to Yeri, but overall they feel that this was all a waste of time, and nothing got resolved.

 

"Well, that was no help." Joohyun sighs, although she didn’t expect for any of their friends to truly help them. Seulgi wraps her arms around her shorter girlfriend.

 

"You okay, Hyun?"

 

"Yea, I still like Reneseul better, though."

 

The monolid woman kisses her cheek. "It's Seulrene."

 

The raven turns and kisses her lips. "Reneseul." She whispers back with another kiss.

 

Seulgi in turn cups her face in her hands. "Seulrene." More kisses are placed this time against her lips and cheeks.

 

Joohyun simply wraps her arms around the taller woman's waist. "Reneseul, baby." She kisses the spot behind her ear that Seulgi loves, and watching in amusement as it turns bright red.

 

"Okay....Seulrene in the streets, Reneseul in the sheets. Does that sound good?"

 

Joohyun ends up cracking up and pulling her girlfriend into another heated kiss. "That'll work for me. Hey, no matter what our ship name is. I love you so much, Seul."

 

"I love you too, Hyunnie." Seulgi promises. Although, internally they both think their own personal choice for their ship name beats their partners, and nothing will change their minds.
