Little-Little Bunny's AdventureThe mid-forest rustles,
Crunching leaves and thistles;
Echoing hoots and grumbles;
Sweet noises and vibrant burbles.
Here we find life.
Here fate was born.
The children of the wild.
Welcome.
Little-little fluffy ears,
Little-little crystal tears,
“Hush now, hush now.
Mama’s got you, Little Bunny.”
Little-little ball of fur
Jump, bounce, grow and learn
Here in the mid-forest rise;
Here in the mystified shade and light.
“Go off, make friends, honey.”
“Alright, dear Mommy!”
And so off went little baby Bunny
Off on an adventure excitedly!
Hopping, running, playing,
Over the rocks we go!
Over the streams that flow!
“Let’s see how far I go!”
But then were ominous growls,
Low scary bellows…
Her little heart beat wildly
At noises dastardly scary.
“Oh no, I gotta run!”
But the frightful noises weren’t far gone.
Frightened Bunny hid trembling,
For fear of experiencing a “gobbling.”
Gentle stillness came back later,
And relief came hither.
“It’s safe now.
I can go home now.”
But wait—
Here in the mid-forest green
With foliage thick and things unseen
“Which way is home?”
Little-little, lost and alone;
Little-little, crying for home.
“Someone… please…
Come find little-little me…”
Suddenly, a rustle in the thickness;
A figure in the darkness
Appeared before Little-little Bunny.
“Hiya!”
“Hello,” bunny baby greeted.
A curious creature it was.
Brown and furry, fluffy ears
Brown and furry, the coat it bears.
Gentle and playful furry brown,
Looked to Bunny with a frown.
“Where’s your Mommy?” she asked.
“Are you lost?”
Bunny baby affirmed with a nod.
“Come with me!” said fluffy furry brown.
“To the cave near a pond,”
The gentle creature smiled like a clown.
Trusting her heart to her new friend,
Bunny baby followed her to the end.
“We’re here!” the young brown furball exclaimed.
“Wow,” little Bunny proclaimed.
It was beautiful.
Here in the mid-forest pond
Glistening in the night so clear,
Waters were dancing on liquid land;
A beauty to dispel her little-big fear.
However, dread arose once more.
The same growls;
The same bellows
The same scary roar.
“Oh no, we must hide!”
Little-little Bunny panicked.
“No, it’s alright!
She’s my momma!”
“Momma?”
Fluffy, furry brown had a momma
A big, scary momma.
“Ah-hah! I see you brought dinner!”
Fluffy Brown’s momma’s dinner…
“A delightful little bunny dinner!
A great addition to the bear feast!”
You see, bears were killers:
Scary critter-hunting murderers;
Finders keepers and devours;
Topping food-chain’s tower.
What is this betrayal?
Little-little did she know
Trust would turn to reversal.
“How could you? I trusted you, Furry Brown.”
“What? No! Momma, she’s not dinner!”
Little-little Bunny was a friend.
A little-little friend in need.
“Run, Bunny, far away!
Run far, far away!”
Little bunny, scared and confused;
Little bunny, treated as food.
(Well, almost…)
“No, no, no! Bunny, no!”
Wounded Bunny fell and limped;
Poor Bunny broke a limb.
Baby furry brown was enraged,
Furry fury burned in outrage.
“How could you, Momma bear?!”
She held her friend in despair.
Far, far, little bear ran
Far, far, with Bunny on her back
There in the mid-forest’s dusk
Where shadows and menaces ominously lurk
Bear and bunny were alone
Bear and bunny, far from home.
Eerie noises, rustles and hoots;
Moving figures and whispers abstruse;
The night grew deeper and deeper
And fear set on everyone’s shoulder.
Little-little fluffy ears,
Little-little crystal tears…
“Hush now, hush now.
Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing, honey.
Together forever, through thick or thin.
Fluffy Bear’s got you, Little Bunny.”
Author's Note:
If you don't understand poetic nonsense, basically, Bunny got lost, met Baby Bear, but Baby Bear's mom tried to eat her and hurt her, so Baby Bear ran away with the Bunny. Now they're both lost together. But at least they got each other...? The End.
