“So what does she like?” Yongnam asked Yongguk

“She likes desserts. There was a café that we’ve been wanting to go to. We have been there once. She loved the apple pie there.” Yongguk replied

“Okay, so shall I take her there?” Yongnam asked

“Hyung are you sure about this?” Yongguk asked, unsure about the plan.

“C’mon dude. It’s going to be fun. Let’s see if she figures out who’s who. It’s going to be like old times. Remember when we were younger, we’d go and fool other people by posing as each other. Those were the good days man!” Yongnam said

“They sure were.” Yongguk replied

“This is just a suggestion okay. She is your girlfriend after all. Your decision is going to be final. You say if you want to do this or not.” Yongnam said

“Let’s do it. I think it’s a good plan, and I’m sure she’s going to like this surprise.” Yongguk said

“You haven’t told her about my arrival, right?” Yongnam asked

“How could I? You coming here was a surprise to me as well.” Yongguk said

“After we finished with the tour, I thought of going home, but then I decided to meet you first.” Said Yongnam

“You did well, hyung. I read some comments about your concert. It was a massive hit.” Complimented Yongguk

“Yeah. Okay so let’s go over the plan. So you are going to call her and tell her to get ready for the date. I’ll go as you, Yongguk and pick her up. We’ll go to that café and talk a little. Then you call me, posing as me Yongnam and tell me that you have reached Seoul. I’ll act surprised and call you to the café. Then you formally introduce yourself as me. Understood?” asked Yongnam

“Understood. Then what?” asked Yongguk

“Then we’ll just sit and talk. Then we’ll go and drop off Min Joo, and that is when we’ll disclose the plan. Okay?”

“What if she figures out that you are you?” said Yongguk

“How will she? We’ve never met. Plus, you and me, we look the same. Our voice, height, weight….everything is the same. I’ll need to change my hairstyle, though. Also you need to tell me everything that I need to know so that the prank is successful.”

“Like what?”

“Let’s see. So when you go to pick her up, is there anything specific that you do? Like hug or hold hands or open the door for her?”
“I compliment her when we meet. She always looks so pretty, that for a moment I am just in the awe of her beauty, her smile. I open the door of the car for her, and then we head off.”

“Okay. What else?”

 

The brothers went on laying out the plan for the little prank on Min Joo, Yongguk’s girlfriend. They went over each little detail that they could think of and then, Yongguk called her.

 

“Hi Jagi.” Yongguk said

“Hello Oppa.” You replied

“What’s up? How are you?” He asked, awkwardly.

No matter how long you two had been in a relationship, he still got shy around you. And you found it adorable.

“I’m not okay. I miss you.” You

He on the other end, blushed.

This girl. He thought to himself.

“Let’s meet up. There is somewhere I want to take you.” He said

“Really? YAAAAYYY. Sorry about that. I’m so excited!!” You said

“Okay get ready. I’m coming in 20 minutes.”

“20 minutes!! I need more than that. What shall I wear?”

“You look pretty in everything. See you in 20.”

This. This is what makes me weak. When he tells me he loves me. Actually, he never let’s go of an opportunity to tell me how much he loves me, but every time I hear him say it, it’s like the first time. I still get butterflies in my stomach when he says “saranghae” in his deep deep voice and with that love in his eyes. Gosh! I love him.

“Saranghae oppa. See you soon.”

 Okay time to get ready! You rush to your closet and skim past all the clothes. You take a good look at all your stuff, then a maroon top catches your eye. You quickly get dressed and do your hair. If he has said 20 minutes, then he’ll be there in 20 minutes. That’s a thing about Yongguk, he’s punctual, and you like it.

 

The doorbell rings.

 

You take one last look in the mirror and with a bright smile on your face, you head out.

“You look really pretty today.” Yongguk says as you approach him

“Thank you oppa. And so do you. Did you get a new haircut?” You ask touching his hair fondly.

 

He gets surprised by the sudden touch. His eyes become wide and then he calms down.

 

“Yeah, I thought that I’d clean up and look better.” He replied

“You look great, regardless.” You said

He blushed.

“Shall we go?”

 

He opened the door and you got in.

 

Something is off. I don’t know what it is but something doesn’t feel right. Maybe I’m thinking too much. Maybe the caffeine is kicking in my system right now. I shouldn’t have had the second cup of coffee today. Leave it. Finally after such a long time, we have time to go on a date. Let’s just enjoy today.

 

 “How’s the album coming about oppa?” You asked him

“You are going to love it. It’s a bit tiring but nothing is too hard for you oppa.” He said with a smile

 

Okay…He’s never complained about his work being tiring, no matter how hard it gets.

 

“I read your latest story jagi. It was beautiful. I loved it.” He said to you

 

You blushed.

 

“Thank you oppa.” You replied

“Aigoo, you look so cute.” He said

 

Oh god! I could feel my cheeks heating up at this. I looked out of the window to save myself of the shyness. Yes, he still made me blush. I don’t know why but there is this nagging feeling at the back of my mind that something is not right. I shouldn’t be thinking this, I mean there is no reason but something just doesn’t feel right. I’m trying so hard to shun this thought away but I know it’s there in my mind. This strange feeling. But what is wrong? It’s a perfectly normal day and finally, after such a hectic schedule, we’ve got some free time. I normal day when a normal couple is going on a date. I look at him. Studying his face, like it’s the first time I met him. I don’t know why I always found myself looking at him like this. He’s be writing lyrics in his studio and I’d just sit there, and watch him. He’s so beautiful inside out. Sometimes I just look at him and feel so lucky to have him in my life. Same face, same hair, same voice, but then why am I thinking so much?

I look at him one last time. His eyes are focussed on the road. He scrunches up his nose a little bit as the traffic light changes to red. He stops and looks at me. That’s it.

 

“Where are we going oppa?” You ask him

“We are going to that café where they serve those delicious apple pies. The one we went to some time back.” He said

“Ah! I remember. It’s that café that we went to on our last anniversary, right?” You said

“Yup.” He said enthusiastically.

 

I get it.

 

You arrive at the café. He guides you in and you two place your order. He knows exactly what you like and orders it for you. You are impressed at that.

 

“Min Jooyah I missed you so much.” Youngguk said

“I did too. It’s been such a long time since we did something like this.” You said sadly

“Don’t worry I’ll make it up to you. Let’s spend the whole day together.” He said enthusiastically

“Yes, let’s do that. Where shall we go after this?” You ask him

“Noraebang?” He asks

“This is new. What will we do?” You said

“We’ll sing our hearts out. It’ll be fun. Or we can go someplace else too.” He said

This is new. Yongguk’s idea of spending time has always been just sitting somewhere and simply talking, be it a park or home. That has always been what you guys liked to do. You guys would usually go to your house and sit with a cup of coffee in your hands, and just talk. Or on days like these when it was a little chilly, you’d cuddle up in a blanket.

 

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Yongguk’s phone rang.

 

“Ah hyung! How are you?” Yongguk said

You sat there munching on the last piece of pie that was left.

“You are here? Here as in Seoul? This is great.” He said

There was some pause

“I’m out with Min Joo. Why don’t you meet us here? It’s about time that I introduced you to her too. I’ll text you the address. See you soon.”

“Is someone coming?” You asked him

“Yongnam hyung just came back from his tour. He said he wanted to meet up before he heads home so I called him here. I thought that it’s about time that I introduced you to him, if that’s okay.” He said enthusiastically

“Yes, it’s okay. It has been a long time since you too met, right? You must be so excited.” You said trying to supress your laughter.

“Yes. It’s been two years since we last met.” He said

“Where is he now?”

“He’s was at a friend’s house, not far from here. He’ll be here in about 10 minutes.”

 

You feel jittery, unable to contain your excitement. This is going to be fun.

 

The door of the café opens and a familiar face walks in.

Yongguk waves at him and he walks over to your table.

 

They look the same! I’ve met twins before, but still I feel so surprised. The look exactly the same. Well maybe not exactly, but nearly.

 

The brothers hug each other.

“Hyung this is Min Joo. Min Joo this is Yongnam hyung.” Yongguk says

You look at him and smile.

Unable to take it anymore, you turn to “Yongguk” and hold out your hand.

“Nice to meet you Yongnam ssi.”

“He’s Youngnam, MinJooyah. I think you got us confused here. It’s okay everyone does.” He says with a laugh

“You figured it out?” Yongguk asked

“How?” Yongnam protests “Yah Bang Yongguk, did you go behind my back and thought of pranking me instead?”

“No hyung not at all.” Yongguk says

“How did you know Min Joo ssi? And when did you figure it out?” Yongnam asks, feeling defeated

“At first I didn’t notice much. I felt something was not right but I didn’t know what so I kept shutting that thought out. But when I asked you about where we were going, I figured it out.” You say

“But you liked the apple pie here. He specifically told me about it. He had said that once you had come to this café and you fell in love with the apple pie here. You guys were planning to come here again but didn’t get the time, right?” He asks looking at Yongguk

“Yes this is true.” Yongguk says

“But this is where we had spent our last anniversary.” You said with a smile

“The last time we came here was not on our anniversary. When I had asked you in the car that is it the same café where we celebrated our anniversary and you said yes, I figured out that you are Yongnam ssi.” You added

“So where did you celebrate your anniversary?” Yongnam asked

“We went for a picnic near Han river.” Yongguk says with a smile.

"It's such a bummer that our prank failed." Yongnam said

"It was fun! I really didn't know that you were you for quite some time." You said

"Okay let me introduce myself properly now." Yongnam said "Hello! I’m Yongnam, older and cooler one of the twins.”

Yongguk laughed.

“Hello! I’m Min Joo, your younger and adorable brother’s girlfriend.” You said

"Let's eat and catch up now." Yongguk said
