Idol Battle Like (Cha Eunwoo x Somi)

"Idol Battle Like" was the show that introduced him to her in the first place. He was nervous prior to the meeting of the nation's very popular center, Jeon Somi, the well deserved first place of "Produce 101". He knew that of course. During their free time, s had been tuning in to the show to cheer their fellow Fantagio friends, and secretly fanboy-ing over other female contestants. He knew that she was extremely young, and their age difference was what made it so wrong for him to even harbor this hopeless boy-crush on her in the first place. But it wasn't his fault, not really. He blamed her, he tried not to, but it was really all her fault.

He was Cha Eunwoo for god sake, the boy known to melt anyone's heart with his face, regardless of their gender. Well, at least that's how his company advertised him as. He was always embarrassed when people spoke of his looks, as he always wanted to be noticed for more than just being "unrealistically good-looking". "Unrealistic" made it sound like he was too unreachable, and he hated that word with a passion. It made him stuck out like a sore thumb whenever someone complimented him in that way, he felt like he couldn't fit in, like he was abnormal. He knew that he was blessed with his visuals, and that many would trade to be in his place, it allowed him to get so many opportunities to be in movies, hosting shows et cetera...

It allowed him to meet her. It wasn't as if she was the first girl he worked with, but there was something about her. He had opportunities to host shows with dozens of pretty female idols, but to him, they were all the same. They were all pretty and nice and respectful, but he had no intentions of staying in touch with any of them, even Xiyeon whom he had been working alongside with in Inkigayo for a period of time.

She hit him like a firework display. Somi was everything that a female idol shouldn't be, completely care-free, speaks with no filter and crackling with energy that was on the borderline of being hyperactive. He always held himself with a pleasant yet reserved manner when he worked with female idols in the past, but it was impossible for him to not double over in laughter when it came to Somi.

 They had a short meeting before the actual airing to discuss and get to know each other, and he realized that she lived up to every single effing expectations of her that he had seen on those TV shows. She wasn't faking or acting out on purpose to gain popularity, she was so damn real that it was frightening and amusing to watch. From her imitation of puppies and her very animated retelling of her younger sister's troubles, she had him coughing, spluttering and wiping tears of laughter from his eyes. She was so outgoing, so different from any girl that he knew, and not to mention breathtakingly beautiful. He thought she was as close to perfect as anyone could get, excellent genes from her Canadian father surely gave her the bonus of molten chocolate eyes and fine features, perhaps he wouldn't feel so out of place working with such a beautiful person. Until of course, she took one look at him and exclaimed so the whole studio could hear.

"Oh my gosh! You are so handsome! I feel like a potato next to you."

She gave him a wide smile, sets of pearly whites showing and she pulled a face to prove her "potato-ness". Although wary of the compliment, he couldn't help but gave her his set of teeth in return, as both of them laughed at the completely random compliment.

"Anniyo, you are very pretty yourself."

He complimented her sincerely, and immediately her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Well yeh? If you compare me to a bunch of potatoes, I suppose I am the best one out of the lumpy lot. "

Instinctively, he reached out and ruffled her hair before he realized what he was doing, and quickly retracted his hand. If she was surprised at his action, she didn't show it, or perhaps she didn't even notice. Then again, she never worked with him before, so she wouldn't know that he was rarely close or outgoing with any female idols.

They interviewed her sunbaenims from GOT7, and she was the vitamin of the interview, she was everything that was capable of making him warm. Jackson's  constant whining to gain Somi's attention annoyed and amused him at the same time; Eunwoo had the brief feeling of satisfaction that she was too occupied with him to notice Jackson, but then quickly convinced himself that she was simply trying to maintain a professional manner. See what she made him do? He was a roller-coaster of emotions because of her for god's sake.

~After the live interview~

"Somi-yahh! Kaja!"

He could hear Jackson's voice from across the studio, and suppressed a sigh. He couldn't help but stare at her helplessly, as if pleading her not to go, but she wasn't looking at him.

"Anniyo oppa, go first, I got to catch up on some stuff."

She looked up at him then, and he was breathless.

"Komawoyo oppa, I had so much fun with you today, I learnt a lot from you."

Even her eyes were smiling brightly, and he was left fathoming how that was possible. Before he got a chance to say something meaningful back, she was already out the door with her sunbaes, and this time he didn't bother stifle his sigh. At least he has her number in his phone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He lay awake, replaying the scene of him brushing a stray strand of hair from her face while secretly gazing at her beauty; he replayed  every gentle touch they had, especially recalling vividly her warm hand on his arm reassuringly while talking to the GOT7 members. He wished wholeheartedly that it meant as much to her as it did to him, but her touches were so innocent, so painfully innocent that he spent sleepless nights reminiscing over it. He wanted to think that they were possessive touches, but he knew better.
He picked up his phone for the nth time and stared aimlessly at it, they have been texting every single day ever since the interview, but it did nothing to help repress his urge to run to her. He missed her horribly and all s were damn aware of it. His eyes lit up at her text and nearly dropped the phone in his hurry to response.
SOMI: Oppa, have you seen my MC clips for 'The Show'? It was so fun working with Wooshin, and he's so handsome as well.
Eunwoo flopped back down to his bed, outwardly cringing at her compliment towards the boy from Up10tion, thinking of the previous scandal of the boy 'ually harassing' HIS Somi made him growl. Of course, he knew better than to believe those over-dramatic K-netz, but the incident shook him and he was amazed at how calmly Somi handled it. It seemed like that incident only drew her closer to Wooshin, and heck, he did not like that one bit.
CHAEUNWOO: Do you call everyone handsome?
He instantly regretted the irritable tone that his text was conveying to her.
SOMI: Anniyo, you are the handsomest, and you are a professional at hosting shows too!
There she was again, melting all his frustration away. He typed 'Bogoshipo' against his better judgement and hastily deleted it before typing.
CHAEUNWOO: You're just saying that.
SOMI: Anniyo oppa, you know that you're my favorite.
His heart beats erratically and he stared at the message for a long time before deciding to screen shot it. She was always like this, innocent flirting and completely unaware of the consequences of her words. He had to keep reminding himself of how damn young she was to keep his imagination from running wild. He hated that he loved talking to her so much.
SOMI: Oppa, are you still there?
He sighed, unable to stand it any longer and started to press call against his better judgments.
"Oppa!! Yobeoseyo!"
He hated the word oppa coming out from anyone's lips but hers. Those kissable pouty lips...
Stop it Cha Eunwoo! Focus! She's underage!
He chastised himself and cleared his throat.
"Aren't you tired?"
He tried to sound concerned like any elder brother would, not the kind of guy that was just thinking about kissing her seconds ago.
"Anniyo, I was slightly tired, but Wooshin was very understanding and nice to me-"
He zoned out whatever she was saying about Wooshin and tried not to be too jealous. He worked with many female idols before after all, and he can't have her to himself anyways. But it didn't stop him from doubting himself.
"Is Wooshin your type?"
He cut her off in the middle of her rant and she stuttered; his heart was pounding in anticipation.
"Um... What do you mean oppa?"
He sighed, he knew he was going to regret this but he had to know.
"I mean, you are a teenage girl Somi, it's normal to have crushes at your age, and Wooshin have been getting along with you very well didn't he?"
He heard her laugh, and perhaps he imagined it, but she sounded forced.
"I think he is oppa. He suits my age don't you think?"
Her voice became smaller and smaller and his heart sink. Before he could ask her what she meant, he realized that she had hung up. Had she taken what he said the wrong way? Had she think of him as patronizing her? As makin
