People say opposite attracts. 

That’s true. 

Minkyung cherish silence but Yebin likes noises. Correction, she likes to make noises. 

Minkyung is always a good girl who’s listening to her parents’ word well. She never lie to them like ever. She’s just too good to be true. While Yebin, she’s a rebellious kid who never hesitate to voice out her thought even when the majority is go against it. Because she always believe in herself. She’s too, kind of too good to be real.

Minkyung could tame a bit the monster inside Yebin. Keeping her under control. And Yebin could make Minkyung feel the thrill, the adrenaline rush that she never knows she’ll enjoy it before. Their good ‘contribution’ in each other’s life is too good to be true. 

Minkyung loves her comfort zone. She loves to feel safe. She enjoys the sense of familiarity. 

Yebin likes danger. She loves adventure. Safe and security are too boring and dull for her. But in all honesty, she doesn’t mind to try to live in them if it means she gets to live in Minkyung’s world with the older girl. 

It’s always like this. She always loves more between the two. She always more vocal about her feelings. No pretending, no shying around. Just right to the point. 

And on one fine day, the two girls meet up at the school rooftop in the lunch break. 

Doing their daily routine, enjoying the warm summer breeze hitting their face as the two look up at the beautiful blue sky above them, with their lunch in their hands. 

“The sky is so pretty.” 

“You’re prettier.” Yebin’s response comes out almost immediately, just like an automatic answer that easily rolled out of her tongue. 

Minkyung just scoffed in amusement at the younger girl’s remark. But she decided to just brushed it off. 

“You know, Yebs.. Sometimes i want to be like you.”

“Like me? Like how?” 

“Just.. like this.” Minkyung ambiguously said making Yebin has to pushed her by the shoulder (not so hard of course because Yebin will not ever want to hurt Minkyung) as her silent protest. And again, Minkyung just laughed it off. 

Minkyung finally can stopped her laugh after some times. While Yebin just silently eating her lunch beside her this whole times. Letting Minkyung to take all the time she needs. Despite being the younger one, Yebin can be considered as a mature and understanding someone when it comes to her Minkyung unnie. 

“You should start eating your lunch, unnie. It’ll get cold.” Yebin said after realizing Minkyung already calmed down and only silently watching her eat instead of start digging into her foods. 

“Later.” 

After a short paused, 

“I also want to live out of my comfort zone.” Minkyung randomly blurted out. 

But Yebin didn’t find it weird. Instead she feels happy every time Minkyung did that. Like blurted out her thoughts to her. So easily. Because Minkyung rarely did that. She’s a type of person who always keep bottling her feelings inside. Keeping her emotions checked. She always thinks and acts so carefully around people. So Yebin is more than happy when she sees how Minkyung trusted her with her deepest feelings and thoughts. Even secrets. As if the older girl let her in while she builds a wall with the other people. She feels special. 

Little did Yebin knows, she’s indeed special in Minkyung’s eyes. She owns a special place in Minkyung’s heart. But Minkyung just hardly showing it. 

“I get too comfortable with my comfort zone. Sometimes i just wish i have the courage to try to live out of it. I want to know how does it feels to finally able to break free from my daily routine. Not that i hate my life now. Don’t get me wrong. I really cherish mine. It’s just that i feel too safe sometimes. Too good to be true.”

Yebin nodded her head few times, as if confirming that she does understand what Minkyung is trying to say. 

And just like the first “you’re prettier” remark she said earlier. Or like the way Minkyung easily voiced out her random thought to Yebin. The solution from Yebin for Minkyung’s concern is also comes out so easily just like that.

“Then you should date me, unnie! And marry me when we get older.” Yebin enthusiastically said. She even gets up from her seat to stand in front of Minkyung. There’s a glee in her eyes as she speaks. 

Minkyung just look at the girl in front of her with both of confusion and amusement. 

Kang Yebin never failed to amused her. 

Soon Minkyung let out a soft scoff before she speaks with a teasing smile on her face. 

“Care to explain what is the correlation between me who want to get out of my comfort zone with marrying you?”

And agin, the answer comes out almost immediately. 

“It’s simple. Your comfort zone is dating a boy. And marrying a man. So if you want to live outside your comfort zone, try to do the opposite. Date a girl and marry a woman. But i won’t let you to date a random girl. Nor marrying just some girl. So you should marry me instead, unnie.” Yebin ended her explanation with a big victorious smile. 

Minkyung keeps mum and that starts worrying Yebin. 

Does she came out too strong??

“Unnie, you can always take a baby step. One step at a time. You don’t have to really considering my idea either. J-just forget it, okay?”

“No. That’s a good idea actually. One step at a time. Okay.”

“Okay?”

“Okay.”

“Okay then.”

“Then..?”

“Aish! Then what, unnie?” Yebin started to get frustrated with Minkyung's teases.

“Then, i think i should start taking my baby step by taking you out for a date, a proper date this weekend. What do you say, my future wifey?”

Yebin glad that she said what she said on that day and finally knocked some senses into her wife’s head. Yeah, they are married now. Happily married. After dating for 5 years, Minkyung proposed to her.

No one can ever imagine how a rebel ended up spending her forever with a compliant. But they did. And they found their happily ever after.
