Murmurs could already be heard as Soohye stepped into the polished doors of her new school. 

"Have you heard? This is the blind new girl"

"God, I would avoid her if I were you, apparently she's from a family of delinquents!"

Although she couldn't see the people spreading rumors about her, she could feel the way their eyes bored into her, filled with pity or disgust.

Of course, Soohye was already used to this. She was used to the way people talked about her with shame, revulsion and scorn. She was used to the way people avoiding her at all costs. 

"It has always been like this", Soohye thought with an exasperated sigh.

At least they didn't comment on her appearance. From the outside, Soohye looked like a completely normal girl. She wore brown contacts to hide her brown irises, and she dressed nicely as well. The only thing that gave away her blindness was her walking stick.

Expertly avoiding the students in front of her, Soohye quickly made her way to the principal's office.
