I Wanna Be Yours

Fever. [YoonKook/SugaKookie Fluff]

A/N: This is the song that's playing later on in the story from Yoongi's computer: Rosy - Fever (Medley Song)

It’s innocent.

Sneaking to sleep in his bed when he’s not around. Sitting and talking with him for hours when he’s aware that his hyung isn’t all that talkative. Holding his hand because he likes to follow him around. Staring at him whenever he speaks because he really does always sound like a genius. Asking him for advice because his voice is comforting and his mood is mellow.

It’s innocent.

Keeping his eyes on him because he’s younger and giving him a bit of guidance here and there. Making sure he’s gotten something to eat because, no matter what, everyone’s going to want to feed the baby. Letting his dongsaeng follow him around because he’s quiet, cute, and curious, but he doesn’t get in the way. Letting him get comfortable in his private studio with him because he likes seeing the way his eyes light up when he hears something he likes.

It’s always been innocent.

The shoulders brushing, despite their height difference, no matter how little or big it may be. The younger resting his chin on his hyung’s shoulder because it’s cute how short he is and how his shortness makes him the right height for things like this. The elder's hand finding and resting close to his dongsaeng’s neck because it’s comforting for some reason, like running his fingers through his hair although reaching his neck and shoulders are always much more convenient, no matter the situation. Laughing with each other because no one seems to really make them laugh like one another. The quiet moments where music just quietly plays in the studio while they sneak naps and sometimes snacks. The conversations they share as creators because he feels that his hyung is the easiest to talk to for some reason and said hyung has no problem talking to him about writing and producing.

At some point, it’s begun to feel like maybe it isn’t so innocent anymore.

Sneaking into his bed has become more of a habit, even if he’s done it to his other hyungs before, because this one hyung’s scent has become one to which he’s become too accustomed. Sitting and talking with him for hours because hearing his voice makes his heart skip a beat every so often, whether the conversation has just started or they’re hours into talking already. Holding his hand because it feels right in his, and because it seems to be another way to make his heart beat faster as if he were dancing all night until the sun pulled in the morning. Staring at him whenever he speaks because looking at anything else suddenly has his cheeks flushing, the sound of his hyung’s voice doing more and more weird things to him as the days continue to pass. Asking him for advice because he wants to memorize the way the older thinks and feels about every little thing because, in all honesty, it just feels right. Being around him feels right.

Maybe it isn’t so innocent anymore.

Keeping his eyes on him because it’s gotten harder to look away from him, even if it’s actually just staring and it only involves a short period of time where he just watches him breathe or speak. Making sure he’s gotten something to eat because he feels accomplished when he’s gotten the baby something that he knows said baby likes, as in the biggest feat he could overcome some days are just remembering what the younger enjoys, even if it isn’t food. Letting his dongsaeng follow him around because the younger has a way of boosting the mood without even really trying; this kid that usually is in his own world just casually doing things that pops up into his mind and bringing about a smile to those around him. The kind of person that doesn’t really have to try to lighten the air in a room or brighten it up somehow. Letting him get comfortable in his private studio with him because it just feels right. Being around him feels right.

It’s not innocent anymore.

Jungkook’s staring at his lips and he’s not even trying to while Yoongi is actually saying something. It’s rare that this happens where he doesn’t actually hear what the older is telling him but, admittedly, it seems to be something that’s been happening quite often lately. He feels some sort of itch all over his body when he catches sight of Yoongi’s lips, especially when he over them.

“Jungkook...”

The younger male blinks and clears his throat. Yoongi had just called his name, right? Could Yoongi hear the way his heart was pounding in his chest? Was he calling him out of concern?

The older male doesn’t say anything though and is tilting his head as he waits for Jungkook to answer him. Clearly, that doesn’t seem to be happening as the younger male just stares at him with wide eyes. It’s like Jungkook is paying attention but he can easily tell that the other’s mind is apparently somewhere else. He just sighs and prepares to walk away, wanting to disappear into his studio for the rest of the day. Putting in time writing or weaving together the melody for a track is always nice. It helps him to sleep a little better knowing that he put in some work for the day.

Yoongi could swear that he’s already moved but he most definitely hasn’t gone anywhere with the hold that Jungkook has on his wrist. Jungkook doesn’t look at him, his head bowed and his gaze down to the floor. The older adjusts his stance so that he’s standing in front of the other instead, brows knitted together a bit in confusion. He’s gotten used to Jungkook doing this when he has something to say but when it’s hard for him to actually voice his thoughts. As usual, in situations like this at least, Yoongi’s being patient and waiting for the other to either do something or say something. Whatever it is though, it’s taking longer than usual. In the beginning, it had been a bit hard for Jungkook to speak what was on his mind but, over the years as he’s gotten older, he’s learned to let some things off his chest, namely those things that he really can’t hold in anymore. Yoongi had at least figured that, at some point, he’d become one of the hyungs that the youngest could easily converse with but maybe that’s not the case, at least not anymore.

“I’m confused,” Jungkook eventually says.

Yoongi’s even more confused than him, he’s sure, especially when Jungkook doesn’t seem to be on the verge of saying anything else, not even to clarify what he meant. Yoongi sighs and wonders if he can just leave the younger to organize his thoughts for a while but Jungkook reminds him that he’s not allowed to move from his spot as he tightens his hold on Yoongi’s wrist, making sure to keep said male in place. Whatever it is, it’s clear that he doesn’t want Yoongi to go far. After a few quiet moments pass, his hold weakens and Yoongi’s standing there for a bit longer before his feet are carrying him to where he’s been wanting to go for the past however long he’d technically been held hostage by Jungkook.

Yoongi runs his fingers through his hair, eyes adjusting as he warms up his computer screen. He doesn’t bother checking the time, since it doesn’t really matter at the moment to him. He’s been having a bit of a hard time sleeping, completely restless unless he’s sleeping in his studio, and even then it doesn’t help sometimes. He feels like he’s confused himself but he can’t even put his finger on what has been gnawing at him lately. He can say that he doesn’t really like the feeling but he tries to swallow it since he isn’t sure why it’s trying to rear its head, whatever it is.

It’s not too long after he’s gotten himself settled and working that the door to his studio opens, catching his attention and causing him to turn as it closes behind whomever it is. When he sees that it’s Jungkook, he also can see that the younger is still battling with the thoughts that had been weighing on him before, but it also seems like he’s come to some sort of resolution with himself.

“You want to talk about what’s on your mind,” Yoongi asks, folding his hands in his lap as he sits back in his seat, eyes on the younger.

Jungkook is actually listening this time, as Yoongi can tell by their eye contact and the slight nod that the other gives in response. Nothing happens though. Well, nothing happens besides Jungkook taking a half step back, fingers touching the door as if he’s making sure the door is both closed and locked for some reason. Yoongi does that head tilt thing he usually does when he’s slightly confused about something, when he doesn’t have an answer for anyone else or, as in this case, for himself.

There’s silence for quite some time and, this time, it’s Yoongi quietly questioning himself if the other can hear the harsh, rapid beating of his heart. If not, it’s surprising since he can feel it in his throat and hear the rush of his blood his pulse carries past his ears like rushing rapids. Why is he so nervous all of a sudden? All Jungkook did was close the door, right? He wasn’t really locking it or anything, right? And why would it even matter if he did? It wasn’t like anything was going to happen after all.

“Hyung,” Jungkook calls, expression soft as he moves forward.

It’s as if his knees go weak as he tries to move through the small space, said small space being like those dreams of being in a hallway with millions of doors but only the one at the end opens but it’s like, no matter how fast or hard you push yourself to get there, it’s like it’s impossible to get there. Yoongi feels so far away even though he’s in arm's reach now. Yoongi is even closer than he thinks as he finds himself falling to his knees in front of the other.

“Jungkook,” the older calls in return, his voice just as quiet and tone just as concerned as all shows in his expression.

Jungkook clutches at the older’s shirt, causing Yoongi to look at him in utter confusion now, especially as he’s tugged down. There’s a weak, shy smile on Jungkook’s lips before he’s pressing said lips against Yoongi’s, neither of them moving from their spot. Besides the pounding in their chests echoing through their bodies respectively, there’s quiet music playing from Yoongi’s computer. Both of their ears catch the one part:

“I wanna be yours... Wanna be yours...”

When they break apart, the next words seems to have them looking away from one another and blushing twice as much as they were when the kiss initially broke:

“Lay your head on my heart... Or you can just pull my body apart...”

They both take a deep breath and the simultaneous action has their quiet laughter filling the room. Jungkook feels like he’s floating on air with the sound of Yoongi laughing and Yoongi feels like he’s rightfully grounded with Jungkook’s laughter; one giving the gift of freedom and the other giving the gift of clarity and ground.

They don’t say anything for quite some time but they’re soon kissing again, nothing more than a meeting of lips, their lips simply pressing together once more. It shifts only a little to the mingling of breaths between them as they part their lips, exchanging light kissing where their lips brush and gently dance together between very light and quiet of each other’s lips.

When they break this time, Yoongi’s cupping Jungkook’s face with both of his hands and Jungkook has one hand resting over one of Yoongi’s with his other on the older’s thigh. There’s still a bit of shyness there but they’re looking each other directly in the eyes this time, smiling at each other. Both of their pulses are still erratic but it’s okay.

It feels right, because being around him feels right.
