Chapter 4: How Are You?
On the other side of the city, Minkyung was busy studying. Even though she was abandoned by her parents at a young age and sent to an orphanage, she was glad that someone was willing to take her in.
The Kims have been extremely nice to her and have cared for her like their own biological daughter. They are unable to have their own children and while in her younger ages, Minkyung was often teased about having two mums, it stopped after a few years and she gained herself a lot of friends and respect.
She participates in many clubs and student council as well as being in the school’s basketball team. Her grades a borderline perfect and in her spare time she makes up choreography or dances in her room.
Clad in her oversized white plain white shirt and some comfy shorts, Minkyung closes her physics book with a sigh of relief. She packs up everything into an impeccable fashion, laying everything into a specific order, turns off her light and practically collapses onto her bed.
Her mind wandered to what she heard as she walked around the school last period.
Flashback
Minkyung quietly excused herself, leaving the library, tucking loose strands of hair behind her ear before finally taking out her hair and retying it back.
Walking through the school, trying to find an empty classroom to finish her work in, she passed the block of where the grade 9s were currently. She gave a sigh as she remembered how year 9 was when all the stress started, where all the tears, breakdowns and drama occurred.
She was about to leave after an unsuccessful search, when she was stopped by a loud thump, slightly taken aback. Gingerly, Minkyung peered the corridors before realising where the noise came from. Slowly, she peeked through the crack of the ajar door.
Before her, stood a rather shocked class, all staring at the two girls who looked like they were about the blow the whole place up. She recognised the two, Nayoung who she often saw in clubs and extracurricular and Yebin, who she realised was their grades sporting champion in the past few years.
She remembered a few years back when the two girls had just transferred. Both looked extremely tired yet so young and appealing.
