Minkyung wonders what she’s supposed to be. She doesn’t have the same vocals as Sungyeon or Eunwoo. Yebin, Kyla and Siyeon are (and always will be) better rappers than her. Kyungwon marches to the beat of her own drum, and she’s always exceptional at talking to the fans. Yehana moves her body better than her, body waves and dance moves mesmerizing to the eye (and a million-watt smile full of sunshine is so dazzling that her own smile pales in comparison to hers, she thinks).

In the visual department, her looks falter compared to Jieqiong’s, whose beauty was enough to be recognized by the majority of the Produce 101 trainees. Nayoung has her charm, her ability to pull everyone together as a team (a family even), with little to no words. Standing next to all of them, on the big stage, she thinks of how she can compare?

She works hard of course. She works as hard as all of them do, and she wants to work harder than anyone does, to fill in for that special thing she can be known for. She looks for something she can own, something that’s her, which leads her back to that one question: Who is Kim Minkyung, and what is she supposed to be?
