"Listen. The game is called chicken: You get closer and closer, a course for collision. One must swerve, or both die in the crash."
“So, are you going to kiss me or what?”
“That’s the challenge?” The silence of the otherwise-empty room echoes in her ears. Eunwoo ignores the urge to escape and runs a hand through her hair instead. Barely one foot away, Siyeon nods and rests her head on her hands.
“You don’t have to, theoretically. You could swerve if you wanted to,” She tilts her head and smirks, and Eunwoo would be lying if she said she doesn’t find this the tiniest bit attractive. “…but you’re not a chicken, are you?”
No, she isn’t. Eunwoo won’t lose. She looks up and into Siyeon’s eyes with as much challenge and determination she can muster.
“I’m not a coward.”
“Good. Because…” A body inches closer, eyes set. Siyeon looks pleased at the way Eunwoo hesitates. “Neither am I.”
“Now? We’re doing it now?”
“Depends. Are you ready?”
She swallows and watches Siyeon’s eyes dart down to follow the movement. “Go for it.”
