final

Of Warmth and Snow

"Hey, Chanwoo. do you want to follow me to buy some drinks later after practice?"

The question made the tall brown-haired boy froze on the spot. It took him a moment before he felt a tap on his shoulder and stepped out of his daze and turned around.

"Yunhyeong is talking to you," Donghyuk tilted his head and pointed towards Yunhyeong who was fixing his hair in front of the practice room's mirror. Chanwoo gulped before he answered with a stutter.

"W-well, alright then."

He could see Yunhyeong was grinning as they made eye contact through the mirror. Chanwoo was a bit flustered and bashfully rubbed the back of his neck as he bit his lower lips.
Gosh, he really wants to hide himself in a box at the moment. If there is a huge box, he would probably crawl into it straight away because he knew his cheeks was literally burning and he really hope the other boys did not realize that.

They continued practicing for the next few hours. Chanwoo realized he had been getting even clumsier lately. He was scolded by Hanbin even more than he usual did, and it made him feel bad. However, Yunhyeong always backed him up.

"Go easy on him, Hanbin."

And Hanbin just shrugged as he sneered to the maknae.
There are even times when Chanwoo would bump into Yunhyeong, and their hands and shoulders keep on brushing with each other every time they have transitions in the dance choreography. Every time when that happens, Chanwoo would just glance at Yunhyeong and he could see the older boy smirks.

Why is my heart thumping hard, he wondered to himself.

He grabbed his chest for a moment to calm himself down, but everytime he sees Yunhyeong there's just something is tickling him inside. He would feel like something is rolling up in his stomach and he would end up getting distracted and making mistakes again.

He never knew practicing would be this hard.

...

"We'll leave and get you guys some drinks too. Don't you guys dare having dinner without us!" Yunhyeong warned as he put on his jackets. Chanwoo just tailed him from behind as he put on his favorite black cap.

"Alright, just make sure you guys won't swerve somewhere else, we're really hungry now." Junhoe said as he patted his tummy.

"And oh, be careful on the road! Chanwoo make sure you hold onto Yunhyeong's hand when you cross the road!" Junhoe grinned and both of him and Donghyuk giggled mischievously. Chanwoo just sent a piercing glare to both of them before Yunhyeong pulled him towards the exit.

It was cold outside and they did not expect it would be snowing when the weather forecast said it was going to be raining for the whole day. This is why Chanwoo have trust issues with the weather forecast. If he knew it was going to be snowing, he would probably prepared thicker clothes.

But he can't really blame the weather forecast though. He has been in the basement for the entire day with the boys and they didn't even know what is happening outside. At least it was not raining because Chanwoo didn't bring an umbrella and their company are just too rich to provide them one.

"Ah, it's snowing." Yunhyeong looked up into the sky as some snowflakes landed on his cheeks. Chanwoo saw that and he couldn't help but to smile sheepishly.

They walked side by side down the street. Silence shrouded them, however the noises from the crowds and cars on the street made it less awkward. Their shoulder kept on bumping with each other. Their hands brushed a few times. Usually, none of them would even realize these little gestures as they were used to it, but somehow that day every time that happens they would just flinch awkwardly and shot each other with an awkward smile and continued to walk along the icy pavement. Chanwoo knew his face is heating up again.

"Yah," Yunhyeong's voice pulled Chanwoo back from his daze. He glanced to the older boy before setting his eyes back on the road.

"Chanwoo, why were you like that?"

Chanwoo was confused by the sudden question from the older boy.

Why were I like that? Like what? When? Oh my gosh, did I do something without realizing?

Chanwoo started to recall all 101 things he did today in case he did something out of his own consciousness.

"Why were you all shy and bashful today? I really can't stand that, you know." Yunhyeong said as he tilted his head to take a look at Chanwoo's face and make an eye contact. "You're just way too adorable."

Chanwoo tried to bury his face deeper into his jacket but the older boy was still looking at him.

"W-Well.." Chanwoo tried to make an eye contact but failed miserably. His eyes were trembling and it kept on averting from the ground to Yunhyeong and to anything else around them.

"Y-you suddenly did that! Yesterday!" Chanwoo gulped.

"Who wouldn't feel shy.." Chanwoo slowly glanced at Yunhyeong.

"Like who wouldn't feel shy, you know. It was my first time and, you know." Chanwoo tried to control his internal anxiety. He started to be in loss of words and tried to calm down but still, he just can't help but to scream internally every time he remembers back what happened yesterday. Yunhyeong sees that and he just smiled.

"Aigoo, looks at this giant baby. You're all red!" Yunhyeong giggled as he wrapped an arm around the younger's broad shoulder. His arm barely reached Chanwoo's other shoulder, but it still had Chanwoo in its grip tight.

Yunhyeong's warmth gave a bizarre feel of warmth, it's not like the usual warmth he felt when he need some heat when it's freezing cold. He didn't even feel cold, but this warmth is that kind of warmth that Chanwoo would never want to let go. It's that kind of warm that makes him flutters, and in the same time, safe.

However, Chanwoo is still slightly upset over the fact that the older boy acted like nothing happened.

How can he be so calm and cool? Did he really mean it yesterday or is it just me and my feelings exaggerating?

Losing count and track of their steps and time, they finally reached the entrance of a café. Yunhyeong tried to push the door open, but it's wouldn't budge because he pushed the locked one. Chanwoo giggled as he pushed the unlocked door and they walked into the café together as the welcome bell chimes.

Yunhyeong ordered his usual favorite, Iced Americano and other members' drinks. Meanwhile, Chanwoo was observing the menu carefully.

He never had any of those drinks that his hyungs usually order. He don't like coffees. They're bitter, gross. He usually just order orange juice. Apple juice. Or whatever juice. But that was when they are at the restaurant. There are no juices on the menu. This cafe serves no juices. Seriously? What kind of cafe is this?

Chanwoo was speechless as he scanned through the pages. He just don't know which one to pick. What if I picked an expensive drink and end up hating it? What if I choose a drink and get addicted to it, and I take too much of it that it will destroy my kidney? Am I going to be a kidneyless person at this young age? I don't wanna be a kidneyless kpop star!-

"Chanwoo."

Yunhyeong's voice cut him out of his trance. He looked at Yunhyeong before he realize he had been lost in his own thoughts again.

"You're not gonna order juice again, do you?"

Chanwoo just giggled as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Guess so.. They don't have juice."

Yunhyeong just huffed and smiled as he turned to the worker.

"And one cookies and cream, please." He said, as he glanced the taller younger boy standing next to him, "for this adorable giant baby here."

The café worker just giggled as she scanned the two boys. "You two sure are a cute couple."

"Ah, no. We're not like what you think! Miss!" Chanwoo tried to explain but the worker left to the kitchen before he could say anything else. Yunhyeong just laughed as he pulled Chanwoo away from the counter.

They headed to a table at the corner of the shop, just next to the huge glass window facing the streets. They settled down to their own seats, facing each other and went silent again. Yunhyeong just leaned on the table with an arm supporting his head as he looked outside.

Chanwoo could not sit calm. He glanced the elder for numerous times and kept on fidgeting on his own seat. He still can feel his heart thumping heart. He glanced at Yunhyeong again and he realized the elder is closing is eyes and dozed off. He really admire those beautiful pair of eyes, his eyelashed and nose is just as perfect as his plush lips. Gosh, his lips-

Chanwoo suddenly blushed again. He might going to die out of blushing today. Did that ever happen though because if not, Chanwoo might going to make it to the front page of the morning newspaper being first and one and only kpop idol who died from too much blushing.

Chanwoo didn't realize he has been staring at the elder for quite a moment until the elder woke up from his doze. Their eyes immediately met each other. Chanwoo flinched a bit before he avert his eyes away to the glass windows.
Yunhyeong just smiled as he watched each and every little gestures Chanwoo made. All of them seems so adorable to him.

He rested his elbow on the table and supports his head with his hands as he leaned forward to Chanwoo's eye level and stared at him. Chanwoo is fidgeting even more but eventually, he calmed down and tried to look into Yunhyeong's eyes. But rather than locking gazes, it's more like shy glances and huffing and another glance and internal squealing.

Yunhyeong giggled.

"It's okay." Yunhyeong said as he extended his hand and patted Chanwoo's head. "Just take it slowly, I can wait." He rubbed the tip on Chanwoo's pink ears to warm them up before their order arrived.

Both of them stood up in unison and Chanwoo was rather calmer than before. He walked ahead of the elder and opened the door for him with one hand like a gentleman he is. Yunhyeong giggled as he watched the younger boy looked at him shyly and they left the warmth of the café to head back home.

The road was rather icy and the temperature had fell over the time. Chanwoo has been shivering and huffing white clouds since they left the café, and Yunhyeong kept on checking out they younger boy to make sure he is fine.

They chattered for a little bit about their practice and how Hanbin kept on whining over Chanwoo's attitude today. Their conversation ended up with an awkward silence again when Yunhyeong mentioned about the incident happened the day before.
Chanwoo tried his best to not tremble and run away this time. He internally cheered to himself and tells himself to man up. Chanwoo stopped his pace and Yunhyeong looked at him in confusion.

"Hyung." Chanwoo started. He looked up to Yunhyeong but his eyes just habitually averted away.

"I-I.. I actually don't mind.." He rubbed the back of his neck as he looked up into Yunhyeong's eyes.

"I mean... I feel the same thing too. So why not, right?"

Yunhyeong just looked at him without saying anything, and Chanwoo was about to get panic.

"I like you too."

Oh, crap. Did I really said that? How did I did I do that? Oh my God.

Chanwoo blurted out his feeling and he didn't even actually plan to say it in the first place. He was just too nervous. He glanced at Yunhyeong's face for a few times. The older boy did not say anything and Chanwoo swear he felt embarrassed as hell, he felt like he could just dig up a hole and crumple himself into it. He don't care if it's gonna fit him or not, he just wanted to hide himself from Yunhyeong.

Yunhyeong's face was blank for a moment and immediately lit up with a warm smile. His eyes were staring endearingly into Chanwoo's eyes. And for a moment, just for a moment, Chanwoo felt something sparked in his heart. He was not sure if it was just his nervous feeling, or his feelings towards Yunhyeong is reacting.

Yunhyeong stood in front of Chanwoo and patted his head. Chanwoo just watched the elder before they locked gazes again. Chanwoo knew he was really red at the moment but he tried his best to stay calm.

"So, are we supposed to kiss now?"

Chanwoo's literally almost lost control of his own feet at the elder's remark. He was literally sweating under his thin sweater and it was really cold at the moment.

Yunhyeong leaned forward and tip-toed a bit to match with Chanwoo's height. He was about to lean a bit further forward when Chanwoo flinched a bit backwards, closing his eyes tight and pursed his lips hard. Yunhyeong just smiled as he observed the younger's face, and leaned forward to land his lips on Chanwoo's plush pink cheeks.

W-wha..

"It's okay." Yunhyeong leaned back as he stared Chanwoo endearingly. "Like I said, we can take this slowly."

Their walk back to the practice room was rather quiet, but warm. Both inside and outside, that's how Chanwoo would describe it.

Yunhyeong and Chanwoo detached their intertwining fingers as soon as they reached the practice room.

"Yah, what took you guys so long?" Hanbin whined as he unwrapped all the meals as soon as he saw the two boys returned.

"We were thinking of eating dinner ahead of you two but then we still have to wait for the drinks." June sighed.

All of the seven boys sat on the practice room's floor in a circle, ready to chomp in. Yunhyeong instinctively went to sit next to Chanwoo and Chanwoo couldn't help but to lean closer too.
They both pressed each other's shoulders before turning to face each other in unison and smiled bashfully. The other boys were too busy to notice.

"Okay, you two are really weird." Junhoe said as he pointed to the empty spaces next to Chanwoo and Yunhyeong. "Do you guys really love each other that much that you have to squeeze together that close?"

Chanwoo just smiled awkwardly and tried to scoot away but then Yunhyeong wrapped his arms around Chanwoo tightly with his head pressing against Chanwoo's chest.

"We were really cold and we just need some warmth. Right, Chanwoo?"  Yunhyeong said as he peeked up to Chanwoo's face and Chanwoo, who was a bit flustered nodded nervously as he awkwardly smiled.

"Y-yeah. It was snowing outside." Chanwoo added. The other boys just watched them and continued to eat.

"Whatever. Do whatever you guys want. If you're not eating that you can just give me-" Junhoe was about to snatch Yunhyeong's food but Yunhyeong took it away in a blink of an eye and they just laughed.

And Chanwoo realized that it was really was a good day. Well, everyday is a good day. A good day is when they work hard and in the end of the day, they laughed together while eating together and chatting about random stuffs. Except today, he felt a bit happier than he usually is. No- even way more happier than he has always been, and he hopes for an even better and warmer tomorrow, at least, with his hyungs, and of course, Yunhyeong.

His warm and fluffy Yunhyeong hyung.
