"But mommy I'm scared" I tightened my hold on her hand.

"Honey you need to be strong. I promise to come back" Then she pulled my hand off her then leave.

"Huhhhhh..." napasinghap ako ng hangin. Hingal na hingal ako na para bang inagaw Ang hangin sakin.

That nightmare again. It's been constant this past few days and it made me more scared of my past. It became usual that I became numb of my nightmares.

Strong and dependable people leaves, so the weak and vulnerable one's will learn how to stand on their own and be strong.

That's always the last words I will hear before I wake up from my nightmares.

"Ian, you okay?" Tumungin ako sa katabi Kong higaan. Nagising ko yata siya.

"I'm fine, Anne" I timidly smiled at her.

"You sure? Nightmares again? Dyou need water? Naiinitan ka ba? Gusto lakasan ko yung power ng aircon?" sunod-sunod niyang tanong.

"I said I'm fine. Tulog kana, we'll be having a long day tomorrow"

"Okay then, Ikaw rin tulog ka na"

I nodded then she turned back to slumber.

"..." mahinang inda ko.

Suddenly, images flushes in my brain.

Blood, dead, suffering, fights, cries...

It gave me headache. But something worse happen.

I suddenly heard voices on my ears.

Weeping, shouts, guns, explosion...

The voices on my head became louder that I can't even hear myself shouting.

"IAN!!!"

From my peripheral view, I saw aunt Lea and Kuya Jin enter the room and rushed to me. I also saw Anne came to me, she is saying something but I can't hear it.

KILL OR BE KILLED...

A voice said with a calm but strong voice.

I closed my eyes tightly and covered my ears as if it will help to stop the voices and the sounds.

THERE'S A MEANING BEHIND IT...

I felt Kuya Jin shaking my shoulders and aunt caressing my back.

DIE AND LEAVE OR SURVIVE AND PROTECT...

Then everything went black...
