Darkness.

Everything is dark.

But in this darkness, there is depth.

There is a floor on which sits a chair.

A chair in which he is bound to at his ankles and wrists.

His body, which he comes to realise he has.

And he hears a sound.

One that was previously muted but now comes to the forefront of this darkness.

One that he regrets hearing.

The loud piercing screech drills through his head and he strains against the binds.

So he does the next best thing to attempt to relieve the pain.

He squeezes his eyes as tight as he can.

A window,

from which arises from the pressure on his eyes.

A window,

which opens in front of his perspective.

One that he falls through.

 

And he plummets from the clouds.

The chair is gone, he is no longer restrained.

But the fear clings onto his being even more so now.

fly.

He looks up into the sky and he sees people flying above him.

So he tries.

But where to begin?

"Fly."

"I can't."

fear.

There are now lights flashing.

Sirens blaring as loud as they can,

although to him they sound quite muted.

 

wet.

He tries to regain control over his body.

And he opens his eyes.

"were they closed?"

water.

His vision is blurred but he can just barely make out an outline of a cube.

A cube in which he is sealed in.

panic.

A shape in the distance.

A solid sound that can be felt as vibrations through the waterlogged glass trap.

The shape gets closer.

A lady.

relief.

She sees it on his face and so she stops.

And the feeling returns.

panic.

"No..."

"Help!"

He uses his palms to bang on the glass walls but she just moves further back into the surrounding darkness.

"NO!"

He stops banging.

She stops moving backwards.

Silence ensues,
