          Chaerin is a very picky girl. She likes things to be her way and likes only what she likes. She is a huge perfectionist and beats herself up about things she does if they aren't, in her words, "perfect". With her pickiness and perfectionist ways, she also has a some snobbiness and a bit of rudeness mixed in. She is a typical teenage girl, going through emotions and hormones.

          There is an upside to her personality, however. She is a sweet, kind girl. Just don't mess with her. She treats you how you treat her.

          Chaerin doesn't cuss (unless she is really mad) and then she gets scolded by her unnies. She is a very hardworking girl, but likes to slack off and procrastinate a lot. The only thing she doesn't procrastinate on is her dancing. She dances all the time and learns at least one new dance a day.

Father: Kwon Junho - 45, half American, half Korean. Born in Seoul, SK. He is a business man who travels a lot. He and the rest of the small family have lived in several places (mainly Busan, SK, Oklahoma City, USA, and London, UK) He is currently in Australia while Chaerin is debuting. She hasn't seen him in over 4 years.

Mother: Kwon (Lee) Minsoo - 32, half American, half Scottish. She grew up in Scotland. She works as a news reporter in Busan at the moment. She tries to visit her daughter every weekend or whenever her daughter isn't busy.

 

Older sister: Kwon Sorin (So-lyn as her sister spells it) - 18. She tried being a trainee, but gave up a year into it. She left Korea and moved to the US. She is currently attending a college in California.

 

          Chaerin has mainly lived with her family her whole life, but during trainee years, she stayed with her mother. Now, she lives in a dorm with her other unnies.

Trainee Years

 

How long have you been a trainee?: Almost 5 years. Started in 2007 in the month of September.

How did you become a trainee?: [Were you scouted, did you go through auditions, etc.]

My sister went to auditions and I got bored, so I had went with her. I was singing outside and dancing and I drew a crowd to myself without realizing it. Next thing I knew, a lady had asked me to come inside and meet some people.

What was training like:

Training was harsh. I met several other trainees who were years older than me. I was 9 at the time and they were about 14 or older. I would spend countless hours learning dancing skills and getting vocal lessons to improve my singing and dancing skills.

While going through dancing lessons, I had to wear heels, so i got blisters and sores from wearing them for long periods of time. I lost about 10 pounds or more and gained a bit of muscle.

I was also told to eat healthier and whatnot.

Did you meet anyone who later became an idol?:

I met the members of U-KISS for a short period of time. I trained with a few of them during that time, since I had some practice and vocal lessons during the same time as them.

Who I met was Lee Kiseop, Shin Dongho, and Kim Eli.

Also, I met some of the Paran sunbaes. I met a few Super Junior members and Girl's Generation members while backstage at a performance.

·         Jeongmin - met during her late trainee years. She doesn't like pretty boys, so she immediately started ignoring him. He noticed her though and has tried to get close to her ever since then. He tries to talk to her every chance he gets, but always fails.

·         Minwoo - they met through Jeongmin. Jeongmin invited Chaerin and one of her unnies (from the group) to a cafe. She left after she got competitve about dancing, as Minwoo is a really good dancer and challenged her to a dance competition. He likes to act cute around her and is very sweet. He wants to see how well Chaerin can dance. She told him to wait until she debuts.

·         Sungmin - they met through Eunkyo. She also has a love/hate feeling for him, since he is a dancer, too. He is super nice to her. When he comes over with Eunkyo, Eunkyo likes to that he is flirting with Chaerin and likes her. But he denies it. He looks up to The Boss's Jay and she sort of dislikes that about him.

·         Changjo - they met through a dance instructor. While at a dance lesson, she was paired up with him for some dance project. This was during the period where NH Media was thinking of giving up on the new girl group. He would try and flirt, but would fail. So, he tried impressing her with his dancing skills. She got competitive and asked to go to a different dance instructor. They are friends, but don't talk much.

·         Melanie (Chocolat) ; best friend - Melanie got an audition to be in Chocolat through her best friend, Tia. Chaerin was going to audition, too, and that's how they met. They became friends and exchanged numbers. Chaerin backed out of the audition once she got a call from her manager stating that NH Media was getting ready to prepare the new girl group of their own.

·         Tia (Chocolat) ; close friend - Chaerin met Tia through Melanie, after the audition. They talk as much as Chaerin and Melanie do, though a bit less than the other two. Chaerin is somewhat jealous of how pretty Tia is and calls her the "porcelain doll" of the KPOP world.

·         Eunkyo (Co-Ed) ; best friend - She is the only other girl that she spends most of her time talking to. Chaerin and Eunkyo share similar qualities and are both excelent dancers and rappers. They love to hang out and talk about random things.

·         L.Joe - she met L.Joe when her sister went to her first audition. They talked while he waited. At the time, they weren't famous or in the music industry yet, so they thought nothing of them becoming friends. They lost contact after a couple of years, both not knowing the other became a trainee later on. He liked to a lot and pick on her (just for fun and she knew it) and liked to flirt with her. He was sweet and shy at the beginning. Both became good friends. They meet again after her debut. She hasn't been paying attention to a lot of newer groups, so she doesn't realize (or recognize) him until she meets him face-to-face.
