Of Mistaken Locker and Found Love

Myungsoo dropped a letter on Sungyeol’s locker that morning. With the intent of confessing his unrequited love, the love he had kept in his heart since he could remember. Sungyeol has been a good friend to him but he sees him in a different way. He could feel beyond friendship when he’s around Sungyeol.

With a long deep breath the night before, he took his scented pen and special paper to write his heart and pour down his feelings in the letter. He tried his best not to show his feelings because he’d rather hurt his own heart than to lose a dear friend. But he had already suffered enough. The pain he feels every time he sees Sungyeol with another guy makes him feel like he’s being stab in the heart.

He can’t confess to him personally, he can’t do it. He might choke up and forget the words he wanted to say. So he wrote down his heart on a letter so he can tell Sungyeol how he feels. Sweet songs playing in the background as he wrote down his heart. He could feel his heart thumping wildly on his chest. He smiled when he started his letter with a cute bold lettering,

TO MY BELOVED,

The confession was long and heartfelt. He has great many things to tell, all the fairy tales he felt that started with once upon a time, the story that he loves best, his love for him. It was late in the evening when he finished his letter, he made corrections here and there, and he perfected the of each letters not wanting to make it imperfect. It was his first time to do such thing so he wanted it to be great.

When he was standing in front of the lockers he made sure that no one was there to witness. Inside the letter was a bracelet with a small key on it. It has a twin, a bracelet with a lock and he’s been wearing it for a while. He wanted Sungyeol to be the key to his locked heart. When the letter was inside the locker he runs as fast as he can get away from the place.

He bumped into Woohyun in the process. Woohyun, his seatmate on all subjects he had. He had lit flames for him before, he fantasize on him about fairy tales too. But Sungyeol came and took his heart in a heartbeat.

“Are you hurt? I’m sorry I didn’t saw you coming,” Woohyun helped him to his feet.

He lost balance when he bumped into him. “I’m fine. Thank you,”

With that he left hurriedly not noticing his bracelet lying on the floor. He entered his first classroom for the day waiting for afternoon to come. If only he could skip the day away. He glanced up at the window where flakes of snow started to pour. The grounds covered in white and the leaves freeze over. It was bitterly cold winter but his heart warmed when he saw Sungyeol passing by the corridors just outside their classroom.

He did not notice Woohyun when he took his seat next to him. “Here wear this,” he heard him mutter under his breath.

The scent of Woohyun lingering the scarf he had wrapped on his neck. He never made an attempt to remove it. Thankful for the kindness of the other guy he smiled brightly at him.

“Thank you,” he breathes out.

If only he still had feelings for Woohyun he’d kiss him senseless right now. He imagined the cute gesture to be made by someone else, not Woohyun. If only he was Sungyeol it’ll be his best cold morning ever.

He fixed his gaze in front of the room when the teacher walked in with a thin stack of papers topped with a thick book on hand. She dropped it loudly on the table making all the student winced including Woohyun. He knew what those papers are. It was their last exam paper. He knew he aced the exam he studied hard for it. But when he glanced at the now pale Woohyun, he could tell the guy was in a ride of horror and failure.

Woohyun made his way towards his locker that morning. He feels odd all of a sudden that when he stepped foot on the school grounds. He usually feels happy for he’ll see the love of his life again. He’ll never get tired of seeing Myungsoo every now and then.

Luck was on his side when he bumped into Myungsoo when he was on his way to the lockers. The guy looked like he committed a crime, too pale. Worry took over his senses when he helped him stand.

“Are you hurt? I’m sorry I didn’t saw you coming,” he asked worriedly. He did not saw the guy coming. It wasn’t a nasty fall is it? He doesn’t like the guy being hurt.

“I’m fine. Thank you,” he said in a curt reply.

His heart dropped on the pit of his stomach he wanted to make sure if Myungsoo was alright but the guy already left. His attention was caught by a bracelet on the floor. He took the bracelet trying to rummage his mind if he could remember someone who wears such bracelet. Sighing, his mind gave up. He’ll look for the owner later for now he still has classes to attend.

He walked towards his locker opening it not in a careful manner. A paper dropped on the floor coming from his locker. He eyed the mysterious paper on the floor. He could feel a tingle of excitement running through his veins. He curiously picked up the paper.

With finality he opened the paper carefully looking for clues as to who might have sent it. He gasped when he saw a bracelet mysteriously looking the same as the bracelet he picked up from the floor just moments ago. It had a tiny silver key on it. He pulled out the other bracelet and saw a tiny lock dangling on it. He tried to put it on together and the pieces matched perfectly.

The bracelet was the clue to whoever gave him the letter. He needs to find out who the owner is, his heart wildly beating on its place. He could hear small whispers on the back of his mind telling him to read the letter. His eyes flew at the bottom trying to search for the sender. It was a mystery.

Students started to crowd the corridors. He silently slipped the letter on his books grabbing it and walked to his classroom, the bracelets carefully hidden on one of his pockets. He could feel his heart broke into tiny pieces as he imagined not finding the sender. It could be his destiny he was wishing for so long.

Myungsoo grabbed his attention when he entered the room. The guy looks like he’s in deep thoughts looking at the windows. He could see him shiver a little and his hands immediately flew to his scarf. He took it off when he sat down next to Myungsoo.

He carefully wrapped it around Myungsoo’s neck focused to make it look presentable for Myungsoo.

“Here wear this,” he murmured, heart pounding on the process.

“Thank you,” he heard Myungsoo answered.

Biting his tongue he tried his best not to talk to him. He knew Myungsoo loves his personal space so much.

The letter was long forgotten when the teacher came in holding a suspicious thin stack of papers. He could feel his blood draining from his veins. Their teacher only brings back failed exam papers with her and he could only pray that he’s not on the bottom. He tried his best to squeeze his brain out just to gather all information and everything he could remember to answer the entire dreaded questions.

Their teacher started to lecture the class about failing grades, her eyes landing solely on him.

“Congratulations Mr. Nam for once in the history you set a
