Chapter 4

Strangers

Chapter 4

There was a sudden silence in the ward as Eunji was taken aback by Bomi's question. She was confused. It was true that she still had feelings for Naeun but yet at this very moment, her only concern was Chorong. Even though she just met her recently, all she could think about was her.

"A-Are you crazy Bom-ah? No way, she's just a good friend that's all." said Eunji, quickly rejecting it with all her body.

"Hm...alright then. If you say so. Let's work together in cheering up Chorong unnie then." said Bomi with a smile, immediately clearing her friend of all suspicions. A relieved sigh escaped Eunji's mouth as the girl she hoped to not meet at that moment, had to appear. With the door suddenly open, Chorong and Hayoung have returned with a box of pastries.

"Did you buy more pastries again?! Woah!" said Bomi with excitement, snatching away the box with agile fingers, not even one bit suspicious over the expensive branding labeled on the box.

"Unnie..." said Eunji who knew it at first glance that this was not bought by her. The name of the bakery had already given the hint away because there was only one person in the world who would buy pastries from such an expensive, high-class quality place, Son Naeun.

"Just eat it unnie. Please stop asking questions." pleaded Hayoung.

"No, I'm full. Bomi's already going to finish it anyway." said Eunji as she gently shook her head with a smile.

"Gosh, were you starving for days? Look at you." said Chorong as she turned her attention to Bomi who ate like a kid, getting cheese and bits of crumbs all over . This caused the older girl to take out a wet tissue and gently wipe .

"Sorry unnie, I've been skipping lunch during work because I need to save money." said Bomi with a nervous laughter.

"At least I get free food at work." said Hayoung as she took a piece of pastry.

Eunji who couldn't seem to take her eyes off Chorong, watched in silence as the girl was busy cleaning after Bomi's mess.

"She takes care of people well, is kind-hearted and works hard. She's a strong woman indeed. At times, I too, want to be like her." thought Eunji to herself.

"Oh, before I forget, this is yours right unnie?" asked Hayoung as she took out the pink hankerchief that she had cleaned and dried earlier.

"Ah..so this was where it was...I totally forgot that I left it with Eunji. Thanks Hayoung-ah." smiled Chorong as she took the hankerchief back.

"It's 4pm already?! Crap, I need to drop by my office to do something! Unnie, I have to go first! I'll visit you again next time Eunji-ya!" said Bomi as she noticed the clock, realising how late it was. In a rush, she wiped and rushed to the door.

"I-I have to go too! I'll come back around 8pm to have dinner with you okay?" said Hayoung as she wanted to head out as well.

"Don't tell me you're dropping by the internet cafe since I'm alright now?" said Eunji with a suspicious glance.

"Pretend you know nothing unnie, bye. Goodbye Chorong unnie." said Hayoung with a nervous laughter, bowing to both her sister and Chorong.

"See you in office, Hayoung-ah." said Chorong with a rather creepy smile.

"Ah...ha.....yes unnie...." said the maknae, avoiding eye contact as she quickly left with Bomi, feeling small with the intimidating aura of not just one but two scary unnies. This left the two girls all alone as an awkward silence flew around the room. It was awfully quiet without the noisy girls around.

"I don't think I need to stay in hospital for that long. The sooner I get out, the quicker I can help unnie out with her debt issues." said Eunji as she touched her head, feeling the bandage that wrapped tightly around hers.

"Wait. Where's my cap?" said Eunji as she paused and looked around.

"I took it back home. It was pretty bloody so I washed it for you. It's probably dry by now, I'll give to you when you're discharged. You should be good and rest properly. Don't need to get so excited to get out Eunji-ya." said Chorong in a tone that seemed like she was scolding her even though she wasn't.

"Thank you unnie." said Eunji with a smile.

"Why thank me? I should be thanking you. You're going so far to help me, even to the point of injuring yourself, I don't even know how to show how thankful I am right now Eunji-ya. The most I could do is buy you food but-"

"But you need to save money too right? Don't do it unnie. Just let me be. I don't want you to waste money on all these when you can save it to pay your debts."

"Alright~ if my dongsaeng tells me not to do it then I won't~"

Eunji couldn't help but to laugh, finding her actions adorable. Where in the world would she ever find someone as cute as her?

"I guess I should get going to. It's a Sunday tommorow but I still have to work." said Chorong, preparing to take her belongings.

"Don't leave, unnie." said Eunji with a pout.

For a moment, the older girl stared at her and at one look, Eunji resembled a puppy who didn't want her owner to leave.

"Shall I stay here, Eunji-ya?" asked Chorong with a giggle.

"Mm" nodded Eunji with a wide grin.

"Alright, I'll stay until Hayoung returns." said the older girl as she moved a chair to Eunji's side, sat down and placed her belongings back. After all, she understood how it must've felt to be left all alone in a hospital ward if no one by her side. This was simply because she has exprience loneliness before, several times. The younger girl was thankful and surprised that Chorong decided to stay. Indeed, she was truly a kind person. This only made Eunji admire her even more.

For about three hours, the two girls used this moment to learn more about themselves. Talking and making jokes in between, time passed very quickly as they became to understand each other better. From simply strangers who met on a pure concidence to friends who developed a mutual understanding and cared about each other, it was more than just an unnie and dongsaeng relationship. Although their personalities were polar opposites, but there were similiarites which they could relate. The pains they were able to share about love, the hardships that they had experienced in life that were just so relatable to the two girls. It was as if, they were fated to meet no matter what.

Chorong who looked for happiness in love only to be betrayed and Eunji who ran away from the person she could not love. It was only right that these two people who shared the same pain would meet eventually. But the two had no idea that they each, wanted to help and heal their wounds that were hurt from the inside. Chorong who made a deal with Naeun and Eunji who did the same with Bomi, it was all a secret that was bound to be broken soon enough.

~X~

The next day was Sunday, the only time where Chorong had a day off from her work that was jam-packed for six days straight. Her company was sane enough to give her at least a day of rest otherwise she would've quit that very moment. But, she wasn't the type who would use the time to head outside, have fun or do shopping. The girl spent the entire morning in her small apartment, doing chores such as cleaning and doing her laundry. She even made her own lunch at home, watched a few episodes of drama airing on the television and wrote down random ideas that would sometimes pop in her head which in turn could be useful for her writing career. It may seem like a boring method to spend a Sunday but for Chorong, this was paradise. Time passed quickly doing small things like these until she looked up and noticed the pink cap hanging on her wall.

"Oh yeah, I should visit Eunji today" thought Chorong who prepared to head out despite the sun already setting down, taking the pink cap along with her.

In order to save money, she walked for about 20 minutes to reach the hospital. She wanted to avoid the thought of money which reminded of her debts she has yet to pay. There was only one day left which was tommorow where she could finally be free for just one month. One month before she would have to start running again, until she were to magically become rich within that course. Heading into the elevator with these thoughts, the girl instead focused on Eunji. She wondered how she had been despite only being 24 hours since they last met. For some reason, she couldn't help but to think about her. Eunji was everything that was on her mind. Heading to the ward, her heart thrilled with excitement. It was a strange feeling. But the moment she touched the doorknob and peeked through the small opening, she froze.

Bomi and Taejoon were inside. Just by seeing that man, her heart sank.

It was true that she still couldn't let go the fact that Bomi was loved by someone else. Her heart belonged to him, not her. But she kept telling to herself that it was all in the past. Although she did once had feelings for Bomi, these feelings were now different. It was complicated and Chorong herself, could not understand. Was she still in love with her? Or has her love stopped? It was hard to decide but everytime she saw Taejoon, the girl turned silent.

"Are you going in?" asked a voice from behind. As Chorong turned around, there was a familar face, it was Naeun.

"I think I'll visit later." said Chorong in a gentle voice as she bowed to greet Naeun who did the same in return.

"I guess Bomi unnie is inside."

"Yup." replied Chorong with a nod but her expression didn't seem happy. Naeun noticed everything and wondered what was wrong.

"Shall we come back later?"

"Later?"

"Let's go eat dinner together, Chorong unnie. I'm sure you haven't eaten yet right? We can come back later once the noisy guests are gone"

"Noisy guests, alright let's go Naeun-ah." said Chorong with a giggle finding it funny of the girl's description of Bomi and Taejoon.

"I'll take you to my favourite restaurant." said Naeun with a smile.

The older girl followed Naeun who brought her to a rather, classy restaurant located in Gangnam. She was slightly taken aback by the restaurant's posh interior design. For sure, this isn't a place that she would go frequently. Taking a glance at the menu, Chorong gulped nervously as the price of one meal could be equal to a whole week's allowance. Indeed, Naeun was certainly a girl on another level. Perhaps, this is the type of girl that Eunji likes? Looking at her, she was very beautiful up close and had such a aura that made people to avoid approaching her.

"It's okay, order anything you want. I'll pay." said Naeun, noticing the sudden silence from Chorong.

"R-Really?"

"Yup." said Naeun with a nod.

"Alright...thank you Naeun-ah." said Chorong who ordered the least expensive meal, a simple spaghetti platter while the younger girl had a steak. But Chorong couldn't help but to sense something amiss. Surely, there has to be a reason why Naeun would offer out for dinner.

"We seem to have a lot of similiarites with each other" said Chorong, trying to make up the awkward silence. It was clear that the two weren't the type to openly talk to strangers and were rather shy. She had to muster her courage to speak because she was the oldest.

"I...I wanted to thank you for yesterday...unnie..." said Naeun slowly in a quiet voice.

"Yesterday?"

"You gave the pastries to Eunji unnie...I'm thankful for that...I thought that you would've rejected the offer"

"Naeun-ah." said Chorong as she put down her fork.

"I understand how you feel. I want to help you in any way possible so that the relationship between you and Eunji can be fixed. I should be the one that is thankful, I'm glad that there is someone who has faced something similar to me." continued Chorong.

"Unnie...."

"Although I'm sometimes still awkward with Bomi whenever I see her with Taejoon but I think all I need is time to heal. But, your case with Eunji is a different situation. It's not something we can wait around."

"Hayoung has tried convincing Eunji unnie many times but...it has failed. I wanted to speak to Eunji unnie as well but whenever I see her...I just freeze....I don't know why...."

"Are you scared of her?" asked Chorong in a calm tone, wanting to analyze the situation.

"...." There was silence after her question. Noticing the younger girl's faltering eyes, Chorong took out her hand and gently placed it on Naeun's, like a warm embrace of a mother. Looking directly at her eyes, it was just enough to calm her nervous heart as Naeun slowly nodded in response.

"I have an idea Naeun-ah." suggested Chorong, knowing that this wouldn't go anywhere.

"What is it?"

"Because the two of you are constantly running away from each other, you need someone to force Eunji to be there. You need someone to force Eunji to stay so that you can talk to her, face to face."

"Who would have the power to control Eunji unnie?"

"Me." said Chorong with a confident smile.

"Here's how it goes..." said the older girl who started explaining her plan.

Throughout the whole one hour while eating dinner together, a plan was set to finally piece the broken relationship of Eunji and Naeun together. Although it seemed like a difficult task but at least, it was getting somewhere. At the same time, the two girls chatted and got to know each other better. To their surprise, they got close real quick because of their similar personalities as well as their similar jobs that shared the same stress and workload. It wasn't so long until they developed into a lovely unnie-dongsaeng relationship. Just by one glance, they trusted each other despite only meeting recently. Indeed, meeting strangers do make wonders.

With a day complete with a lavish meal paid entirely by Naeun who works as a fashion designer, it's no wonder that she always had such an aura in constrast to Chorong who was a writer for KBS. Walking back to the hospital together, the younger girl was still hesitant to head inside with Bomi and Taejoon gone. Visiting hours were about to close soon and this was the only chance left. Standing in front of the door, this was the only barrier left in order for the two to meet. What could be so difficult?

"Do you want me to go inside first?" asked Chorong.

"But unnie...w-what did I do? W-What do I say when I go in?" stuttered Naeun nervously.

"Naeun-ah, we promised to do this. You've known Eunji for so long, what could be so hard?"

"We haven't spoken in so long..."

"And that's the more reason why you should start meeting her again. I'm going in first. Wait for my cue." said Chorong bravely opening the door and closing it back, leaving Naeun alone outside the hallway.

"Oh? You came to visit me unnie? It's late now, don't you have work tommorow?" asked Eunji in surprise, eyes wide open to see the older girl visiting her.

"I didn't manage to visit you today. I want to make an effort to visit at least everyday until you're discharged and I thought you missed wearing your favourite cap." said Chorong as she arranged Eunji's messy bed while returning Eunji's pink cap by gently putting it on her bandaged head.

"You don't need to do that unnie...." said Eunji shyly, feeling awkward to be "taken care of".

"Just rest. Let me do it." said Chorong, preventing Eunji from getting up and helping her.

"I'm totally fine unnie. The doctor told me that I'll get discharged tommorow."

"Really?" said Chorong as she paused and looked at Eunji.

"Mm." nodded Eunji.

"Doesn't matter if you're getting discharged, you're still a patient so lie down." said Chorong as she forcefully pushed Eunji back.

"What a stubborn unnie I have" giggled Eunji.

"What a stubborn dongsaeng I have" replied Chorong which caused the younger girl to break into a laughter.

"Ah, Before I forget, I brought a friend of mine along. I want to introduce her to you." said Chorong.

"Oh? You have friends?" said Eunji with a cheeky grin.

"Y-Yes I do!" sighed Chorong, having enough of the younger girl's teasing.

"She really wants to meet you so please treat her nicely." said Chorong as she walked to the door.

"What do you take me for unnie? I'm no monster or demon who scares away people." said Eunji, still not aware of her plan.

"Eunji-ya, the friend I want you to meet....is her." said Chorong as she opened the door, grabbed hold of Naeun's hand tightly and pulled her into the ward. It was in that moment, time seemed to have freezed. The two girls, finally met.

But instead, there was a cold air in the atmosphere. Naeun wanted to run away but Chorong held her hand tightly, holding her back as she glanced at her. Eunji on the other hand, lost her smile. Awkwardly clearing as she avoided eye contact, looking outside the window, she wasn't sure what to do. The girl that she could not love was right there, she had wanted to run away all these while but in the end, it failed. Here she was, standing in front of her.

"Eunji-ya." said Chorong as she broke the cold ice.

"I heard everything. I know what happened and I'm not going to let this pass." continued the girl as she stared at Eunji.

"Mind your own business unnie...." mumbled Eunji with a sigh.

"Eunji-ya." said Chorong, slightly angered by the girl's sudden change in behaviour.

"It's not her fault. I told her." said Naeun, finally speaking her words with much courage.

"Why did you do that? Do you like seeing me like this? Do you even know why I've been doing this all along? Have you even thought about me once?" asked Eunji in a bombard of questions, her inner thoughts finally exploding.

"You liked me, unnie."

"I loved you, Naeun-ah." said Eunji as she finally turned and looked at Naeun deeply in her eyes. It spoke of sadness and sorrow.

"Do you remember that day when we went out to celebrate your birthday?"

[FLASHBACK]

It was Naeun's 19th birthday and a special party was held to celebrate this event with her closest friends. Being the only daughter to the CEO of a airline company, it was no ordinary birthday party. Held at a private banquet in one of the most expensive halls in Seoul, only her closest group of college and high school friends attended. Of course, both Eunji and Hayoung attended. It was a rather cheerful, happy night as they celebrated like normal people. But the highlight was the cake cutting event and this was the moment where Eunji had planned to give her gift to Naeun which was a couple ring.

She wasn't sure if the girl would accept such a gift that held so much of meaning into it and waited for the right moment. As the MC of the event announced everyone to gather and sing a birthday song to the joyful Naeun, that was when everything had changed. Lights suddenly turned dark as from a far corner, the door opened revealing a group of boys holding a cake with candles lit on top. The boy in the middle, was Taemin who grinned brightly upon seeing the girl who dressed in her birthday dress. As everyone continued to sing along and Naeun who finally blew her candles, the boy bent down and proposed to her.

"Would you be my girlfriend?"

Hearing those very words, sank Eunji's heart greatly. She had never expected a surprise event to be planned in the making or to even think that he, loved her. But what made it worse was Naeun's answer. A joyful, "Yes" that sent the crowd in excited cheers. Everyone was smiling brightly, congratulating the new couple except for that one girl who stood in the dark corner. Tightly clenching her fists but tried her best to smile, hiding her pain. She lost. Eunji knew from the beginning that loving a girl was impossible. Especially for a delicate, beautiful girl like Son Naeun, the bar was set too high. She could not win her love.

Who would have thought that falling in love was so painful?

[END OF FLASHBACK]

"Naeun-ah." said Eunji with a sad smile as she remembered those painful memories.

"On the day of your 19th birthday, I wanted to confess to you. But, I couldn't. I lost. I lost to him."

"Unnie...do you hate Taemin oppa? Do you resent him?"

The older girl shook her head.

"As long as he takes care of you well, I am happy. But...at the same time, I am not."

"Unnie...." said Naeun as tears suddenly rolled down her cheeks. She felt sorry for making Eunji feel like that. She didn't want to hurt her feelings and yet, there was such a huge scar left behind. If only she had known at the start, she would've been more careful in expressing her feelings. If only she had known earlier that Eunji liked her, their story might've been different.

"Naeun-ah..." said Chorong, immediately taking tissues and wiping her tears.

"But..." said Eunji as she wanted to speak everything from her heart. Deep inside, she was tired of running away from everything. She wanted to put an end to everything.

"I don't love you anymore." confessed Eunji.

"Even though my heart still falters at time but I learned that falling in love just hurts me more. I'm not the only one who's been hurt by love. That unnie over there has experienced it before and that's when I realised, I'm not alone."

"Eunji unnie...."

"I want you to be happy Naeun-ah. I don't want to hurt you. I don't want you to feel sorry."

"Can't we be back to what we were before? Can we stop being strangers and be friends again?"

There was only silence as an answer. Eunji flinched. She couldn't imagine that. She was scared that she might fall in love again. By becoming friends, it only brought more risk.

"I..." said Eunji as all of the sudden, Chorong grabbed both Eunji and Naeun's hand together and forced them into a handshake.

"Aigoo the two of you, it's so frustrating to just stand here and watch. Forget about your past and start a new friendship all over again, that way, no one will get hurt. Gosh, you kids." sighed Chorong unable to see the conversation going nowhere. She had no choice but to step in because the two girls were just as reluctant. Thanks to her, a laughter broke into the cold atmosphere that made it lighter.

Slowly, the two decided to make up by breaking that thin ice in between step by step. Although both were still very awkward with each other, time was all they needed to heal the wound inside their heart. Of course, their friends were there to help piece their relationship back. Chorong, Hayoung, Bomi, everyone else did their best to help the two to the best of their ability.

This was a start of a new beginning between the two girls, Eunji and Naeun.

~X~

It had been over two weeks since then, Eunji has been discharged from hospital and was back to work. Spending days driving her taxi and picking up customers, it can be a little tiring at times but she always gained motivation from hearing different stories. She made an effort to at least meet Naeun once a week or even text her, just like a normal friend. It was a bit awkward but slowly, the ice between them melted. Glad that something has finally been lifted from her uneasy heart, she had more important things to focus on. Chorong's debt.

With her stubborn nature, Eunji always stopped by the KBS Building every evening after work hoping to meet and chat with the older girl. But recently, she had been so busy that they were only able to meet for a short moment. The younger girl had visited the building so often that even the receptionist, Mina recognized her.

"Eunji-ya, you don't need to come visit me everyday. I understand that you want to help me in finding a solution and I am thankful. But, I'm not as free as you are. I have many deadlines coming up, meetings to hold, cilents to talk-" the girl paused only to find Eunji pouting at her. Indeed at moments like these, she looked like a bored puppy who simply wanted the attention of its master.

"But do you have an idea how to solve my debt? The most I'm doing now is the keep working overtime in hopes that I get bonuses and extras in my salary next month." asked Chorong with a smile, finding the girl adorable. It was a completely different image from her usual tomboy-self. Here she was like any other dongsaeng who just wanted to be with her unnie.

Eunji shook her head in response.

"Then you don't need to keep coming here Eunji-ya. It's a little embarassing that my co-workers keep talking about you now...." said Chorong shyly, aware that people were glancing at them talking in front of the KBS lobby.

"So I can only visit you once I've found a solution?" said Eunji as she broke into a laughter. For some reason, she loved the fact that her existence was being known to Chorong's co-workers. It made her strangely, made her feel good, as if showing off her relationship with her.

"Mm.." said Chorong nodding her head, not wanting to directly tell her to stop coming. In fact, she was already more than thankful that Eunji was so enthusiastic in helping her out in solving her debts but sometimes, she knew that the girl didn't really knew when to stop crossing the limits.

"Alright unnie, I understand the situation. I'll cut down to visiting you everyday to once a week that is a Sunday since that's your only day off right?"

"Omo, the way you say that..." said Chorong, slightly taken aback by the girl's boldness.

"What? You don't miss me unnie?" grinned Eunji cheekily as she tilted her head slightly, looking at the girl.

"W-W-What is with you?! Whatever, just meet me when you find a solution." said Chorong taken aback by her question as she gently pushed her away and stormed off, heading back into the elevator, returning to work as her heart thumped loudly.

"Bomi's right, she becomes so cute when I play with her feelings like that" mumbled Eunji as she laughed to herself, heading outside as she looked up at the bright, blue sky. Earlier before, the girl did research with her childhood friend, Yoon Bomi as she wanted to learn more about her through a different perspective and it was rather interesting to find out things that she doesn't reveal to others.

"But Eunji-ya, you better not tell Chorong unnie that I told you all these exclusive info of her otherwise she'll kill me!"

Remembering Bomi's warning in her head, she laughed again. For some reason, she seemed so happy whenever she was around Chorong. She was like the girl who brought her happiness in her life. Meeting her changed everything. This made Eunji's motivation to find a solution to Chorong's debts even hotter, the fire burned strongly in her eyes as she began to think seriously. Where in the world would she able to gain a huge amount of money in such a short time that isn't done illegally or will hurt anyone in the process? As she thought deeply while casually strolling along the crowded streets of Hongdae, something caught her attention. A promoter actively giving out posters which seemed to encourage people to take up an audition for a program.

"Excuse me, what's this?" asked Eunji as she walked to the promoter.

"Oh, we're handing out posters for anyone interested in signing up the audition for the new season of Superstar K."

"Superstar K?" asked Eunji in confusion.

"Oh my, have you not heard of this program? It's very famous and singers like John Park and Busker Busker were found because of this program."

"Sorry, I don't own a television...." laughed Eunji nervously.

"I see, it's a talent show programme run by Mnet where they're looking to find talented singers. The final winner will sign an exclusive contract with one of the popular music companies as well as a grand prize of 100 million won."

"100 million won?!" said Eunji as her eyes were wide open.

"Yes, 100 million won."

"I see. I'll take this. When do the auditions start?" asked Eunji as she took the poster.

"It will start in two months time but registeration takes place next month. You can also check the website for more details."

"Alright, thank you!" said Eunji as she bowed and continued walking, her eyes fully focused on the poster.

Everything else didn't matter. The girl didn't care if it was an audition or a process for singers with a dream, she was only focused on that "100 million won" that was printed on the poster she held tightly. Her eyes gleamed with passion as she finally figured out a solution.

"I finally found a way to help you, Chorong unnie!" thought Eunji as she proceeded to head back home, getting ready for something.

[THREE DAYS LATER]

Three days had passed since then and Eunji never dropped by the KBS Building, just like an obedient dongsaeng who did as told. But for some reason, Chorong felt a little disappointed that Eunji actually listened to her words. It was a little fun yet somehow a thrill whenever she recieved a call every day from the receptionist that there was a girl downstairs waiting for her. But now, that won't happen because she told Eunji to stop.

With a sigh escaping , the girl chose to focus on working. Eyes straight at her laptop, she began typing away like a robot, hoping to finish her deadlines while cracking her head on forming new ideas. It's not that she hated her job, it was just pressuring at times especially from anticipated demands of her superiors.

"Unnie, are you busy?" asked Namjoo as she peeked into her cubicle with worried eyes.

"Why? You have something you want to ask me?" asked Chorong, her eyes still focused on the screen while her fingers danced on the keyboard.

"It's about Hayoung."

"What about her?" asked Chorong as she stopped, turned around and looked at Namjoo.

"She asked if she could meet you. I don't know how but the two of you met before? A small world indeed but it seems pretty urgent."

"Hm? But she could've just come to see me in person, why did she ask you?" wondered Chorong.

"Aigoo unnie, don't you know you have that powerful aura. You're one of the most respected seniors here, of course an intern would be afraid to approach you." said Namjoo with a shocked expression, surprised at her question.

"Alright, alright. Stop doing that or you'll make me laugh." giggled Chorong, finding Namjoo's exaggerated expressions hilarious but she tried to hold her laughter.

"Unnie~" pouted Namjoo, not very pleased.

"Okay, I'm not laughing. Interns are all located at the first floor right? Call Hayoung up here."

"Roger that, boss."

"Don't call me that." frowned Chorong.

"Okay unnie~" giggled Namjoo who found her angry expression adorable rather than scary as she reached for the office telephone.

It didn't take long for maknae Hayoung to rush to the seventh floor. Although she froze upon seeing all her superiors staring at her, the girl bowed and walked towards where Chorong and Namjoo's cubicle desk were.

"H-Hello Chorong unnie.." stuttered Hayoung as she bowed.

"Don't need to be so formal Hayoung-ah. Calm down." said Chorong with a smile.

"Is something wrong Hayoung-ah?" asked Namjoo in worry as it was far too obvious from Hayoung's expression to tell that something has happened.

"Unnie, this is a huge problem. I asked Bomi unnie, Naeun unnie and every other human that I know on this planet but no one knows where she went." said Hayoung.

"Hayoung-ah, calm down. Just tell me straight to the point. What happened?"

"Eunji unnie is missing."
