Jackson felt his stomach churn as he stared into the full body mirror, looking over everything about him, finding anything he saw as a flaw, until his vision became blurry.
“Tears? What happened to happy, joyful, loud, annoying, Jackson?” He muttered to himself. Then he heard the front door click open, Mark was home, Jackson quickly pulled on his hoodie and sweat pants feeling a slight sting against his thigh from the previous night.
“Stupid” Jackson sighed.
“Never again” He told himself, it was a stupid mistake he’d made at a weak moment, but he knew he would be stronger now trying to stop again.
“Jacks? You home?” Mark called snapping Jackson out of his thoughts.
“Yeah, sorry I was taking a nap” Jackson forced a giggle as he left the bed room. Mark smiled widely at him, but then the smile fell and quickly turned into a look of concern.
“What’s wrong?” Mark asked, rushing closer to Jackson, arms wrapping around Jackson’s waist. Jackson wrapped his arms loosely around Mark, head tucking into Mark’s neck.
“I’m okay” Jackson whispered, lying. Mark let the silence take over as he just held Jackson. “Look at me” Mark spoke, it wasn’t in a demanding tone, it was soft, caring and almost a plea. Jackson took a deep breath.
“Do I have to..?” Jackson asked. Mark gave a small chuckle.
“Please” Mark spoke. Jackson couldn’t help but look at him. Mark’s face immediately turned into a soft and loving smile, making Jackson feel at ease.

“You were in front of the mirror weren’t you?” Mark spoke, he knew by now that mirror was a curse on both of the, Mark had tried to get it removed, he’d ended up covering it in stickers and posters but they’d fallen off after Mark and Jackson had lent against it, but he would make sure to cover it again until they were ready.
“I was changing and caught myself…how can you love me?” Jackson asked, voice going small as the question slipped out, eyes avoiding Mark’s. Mark took a deep breath, smiling at Jackson then pressing their lips together, Jackson melting into it feeling loved and safe.
“I’m an idiot, I’m weak, and I don’t know how you can stay with me” Jackson spoke aloud, tears falling from his eyes. Mark was quick to cup Jackson’s face and wipe the tears away.

“Hey, shhh, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and I love you more than the world” Mark spoke, his voice full of love and reassurance, then he pressed a small and soft kiss to Jackson’s lips, it was full of love and care, Jackson melted into it hands tightly gripping Mark’s shoulders.
“Promise me you’ll always remember that” Mark whispered as the kiss broke. Jackson smiled, tears falling as he hid his face against Mark’s neck.
“I love you” Jackson spoke, sniffling.
“I love you too” Mark giggled, holding Jackson tighter.
